Thumbnails of images

I loaded maybe 50 files of our photos in the photo on the media center section.  I can see them, but when you view the files through the browser tool, only 20% of them have photos for records.  I'm not sure it's important, but I copied these if a sharing network (\\mediahub\photos) instead of the importer.  Any thoughts?

OK, after working with Tony for a few days, we have identified the problem.  Browser based access will allow you to create directories, but they cannot contain special characters like an apostrophe.  If you use a mapped drive or unc name to create directories and copy files to the device, you can create any name you want.  The indexing program will stop working for directories that have apostrophes in them.

Example:

Create folders in the Client browser:

Anniversary of Joels: works very well

Anniversary of joel: client browser will not allow the creation of that name.

Create folders in windows Explorer or the command prompt:

Anniversary of Joels: works very well

Anniversary of joel: works very well, but engine indexing will fail to display thumbnails for the folder or the images contained.

Tony is aware of the bug, so just be on the lookout for this if you do not use the client browser all the time.

    Hello

If you have Norton, it may be that the file has been correctly saved - please see:

It seems to contain instructions on disabling the overlays of icons, but as I don't have Norton, I can't confirm that for you.

There may be other products that change the appearance of the icons.

  • The display of thumbnails of images in Windows 8

    * Unsolved, BUT are NO LONGER looking for ANSWER. All the advice did NOT work. There was something wrong with the computer, and when I got to another computer I didn't this problem.  I don't have the computer that had this problem any longer. I'm not looking for a solution any longer.

I have a Windows computer 8 that don't show me icons when I'm in the file Explorer and the pictures folder. I made sure 'show not miniature icon' is NOT checked in the folder options as well as ensure that it is in view 'broad' or 'extra large' so I can get thumbnails. However, all that he will show me is the icon. What Miss me?

IT WORKED FOR ME AND WINDOWS 8.1!

HOWEVER, I had to uncheck or untick all the boxes under the custom user setting and then click on SHOW THUMBNAIL instead of ICON. It's a SOLUTION and I'll see if I can come back at a later date and add some other features that I love and that you use on the animation and using the magnifying glass. I'm on a new machine from ASUS with large HD and RAM-no reason in the world that I can't have the thumbnail of TWO photos AND fun Animations, smoothing the contours, etc. For now, I'm happy and want to thank the person who took the time to take screenshots. Nothing else has worked. I've done it before even looking for help, but not a NOT choose CUSTOM and uncheck all but the one I really need. I hope this information helps others!

This should allow you to display thumbnails of images.

  • Disable thumbnails of images

Is there a way to disable the thumbnails that appear in the Skype chat? I need to be able to see when an image is sent then is it possible to return it when he appeared as a file transfer. I can't seem to find an option to disable the thumbnails, I thought it would be.

Your options window is version Skype 6.21 or more. The option is available in the latest Skype 6.22 or 7.0 versions.

In Skype 6.21.0.104 there is no option to disable the preview image in the chat window.

  • Thumbnails for images JPEG will not appear in Windows Explorer

I'm running Vista Business 32 bit, Service Pack 1.

This is a whole new problem after 2 years of normal operation.   I did not any management JPG files for a few weeks, some had downloaded several regular MS updates and added or not deleted any other program.

And now I can see is more glimpses of my JPEGs in Windows Explorer - if I choose display in mosaic, or small, medium or large icons.   Only the generic 'image' icon.  This is also true if I try to use gMail to transfer a file and search for it.

However, the slide show feature is working normally and Windows Photo Gallery works normally and shows all the photos - but is not a file management tool.  Photos also normally open in programs like Photoshop.

I checked the properties system under Performance Options/Visual Effects and ticked 'show previews and filters in folder' and then 'apply' - but it has no effect.  I checked the associated file and select the default Windows Photo Gallery.  It also had no effect.

Not being able to preview and rename the picture files in Win Explorer / my computer is a serious problem for me.  Any help would be appreciated.

Try checking the Control Panel / folder Options / view, "always show icons. never thumbnails", see if you have to uncheck?

  • When you use Windows Explorer to view the files and folders, the thumbnails of image files appear briefly then are replaced with the default icon of the image file. I tried the answers to similar problems, but none worked.

Browse the folders with image files, I cannot see the thumbnail icons for images correctly.  I know, it should be possible, but I can't do it.

When I first open a folder in Explorer, I see the correct images for a fraction of a second, then all images are replaced by the thumbnail of the image file (which looks like part of a digital SLR).
I put all folders to display picture to display the preview and the filter, and the "always show icons never thumbnails" is not checked.  Display file icon "on the photos' is unchecked (I tried checking, too, without change).  I also deleted the thumbnails using disk cleanup as suggested on another question, but which did not allow them.
The result is that, if I want to open an image for editing or downloading, I have to use a third-party application (for example, Pentax Photo Browser) to preview images, and then return to the Explorer window to select the correct file by name. Don't try to difficulty of these things that are not broken.

    izzlecrate,
You might want to try it and I just did this procedure myself a moment ago and surprising, it worked!  First of all I must tell you that I have Windows Vista, but the information I got was for Windows 7 and it worked.

First: You must create a NEW FOLDER and put it on your desktop.
Second: Move or copy the contents of the original file in the NEW FOLDER on the desktop. I copied the content, just in case something went wrong.
Third: After that is finished and all the contents are inside you.
Fourth: On the desktop right click on the folder and click Properties at the bottom of the box.
Fifth: Click Customize tab at the top and then the Middle click on DEFAULT settings for the folder.  Click on apply to, click OK and your done

NOW! You can move the folder wherever you want by drag-and - drop the folder and when it's done and that's the best part, you should see the thumbnails of the folder on the EDGE of the folder that you just created.  It worked for me and I hope it works for you.
I have 10 years of experience with my computer and have troubleshooted my friends for viruses and other computer problems successfully.  I'm advanced computer user.

That this is done, it restores the folder its original settings.  Good luck! Rick

  • Xperia z3 foto widget display the broken image icons instead of thumbnail/preview image

Initially, I used my Z3 without SD card. Any word very well: album AND the foto widget that allows to navigate through the photos.

    After

    -installing an SD card,

-changing the location for newly taken photos on SD card

    - AND by moving some pictures of other directories-

    - AND the creation of a number of files .nomedia on these directories to make these photographs appear not not in the album, nor in the foto widget.

foto widget displays an icon of a broken image for all photos taken prior to this change. All new photos appear in the widget and app album.

I delete the file data and the album (in album settings - all apps) cache-.

    It does nothing (so far).

How can I force the app/widget album to recreate its database and preview/thumbnails?

    Thank you very much.

    M ~.

    Working solution for the following:

    Order the soft MediaStorage
Settings > Apps > all > storage media (FROM: Medienspeicher) "App Info" > stop App

Data deleted from the App MediaStorage
Settings > Apps > all > storage media (FROM: Medienspeicher) 'App Info' > clear data

Restarted the application (via MyPhoneExplorer) or by rebooting the phone.

The process appears in the form "android.process.media" in the list of processes (not sure, I guess) android

To provide a treatment could turn the endurance mode or add "MediaStorage" to the list of exceptions of runing apps background even in mode stamania.

(> a) how long it would take to recreate the database and photos? The directory of the main image (DCIM on the SD card) contains > almost 1000 photos).

A: it is __NOT__ take very long. For my 1000 + pictures and a few videos is was a matter of minutes to see the widget started foto avatars correctly and see the album recovers very quickly. If you reach a corner of the album or the photo images widget still not recovered, the image appears rather quickly.

(>) b where residing the .thumbnails directory? -After accepts the SD - be - it in/storage/sdcard1/DCIM or > in/storage/sdcard0/DCIM as it was before the installation of the SD card?

R: it seems that the .thumbnails directory still resides on the internal memory (i.e./storage/sdcard0/DCIM). This is at least the case for my phone.

It also seems that .thumbnails files are ONLY used for the foto widget for the App album someone could confirm?

(> c) how to either force the media scanner to run and update the widget photos foto and the album database / see/check that

    > it runs.

Stop the MediaStorage process, clear data from this application and start it again again and keep visiting the widget from the album and or foto.

    See you soon,.

  • Display thumbnails for image in Windows 8 files have incompatible displays

My nail of the thumb of my last computer tend to show images from first to last when I look a files containing multiple images. At present, there seems to be an inconsistent display for their disposal instead. This is the case, even if the images in the folder are arranged the way I wanted their viewing out of the folder, nothing helps.

Normally, I would have a pop-up book search folder with the first and the second picture. Instead, a file has the image of the ninth and the fourth on the display. There's a chance it's certain predetermined model since there is no different whenever my computer turns on.

So what I'm asking is - how do I get them to display the first and second again? If you know more, then please tell me if there is a way to display the first image in the single folder for all files.

    Hi Michael,

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

To better help you, could you please confirm a number of things like:

    1. What is the file format of the image?

    2. How are the picture put in short circuit now?

I suggest you to clear the cache of thumbnails of the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Open Disk Cleanup.
    2. Check the thumbnails and click/click on ok.
    3. Click/click on the button Delete files.
    4. Disk cleanup now clears the cache of thumbnails and close.

Hope this information was helpful and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help.

  • Missing thumbnails of images in the scroll bar after the corrupted lrcat file recovery

    Greetings-

The last 24 hours have been a roller coaster of emotions to say the least. Last night when editing photos my external hard drive suffered a problem of corruption and has stopped responding. I went immediately into emergency mode and started to tear off which doesn't have the data I could from the drive of entry mechanically.

Fortunately, I keep all my original and raws photos supported on a 10 to RAID 5 array with 2 parity drive if I'm not worried about losing those. In addition, I save my lrcat regularly (once a month) to the same NAS. However, since the last time the catalogue was supported up to and now, of course I did a lot of editing. Another factor of motivation in my back catalog has been the fact that I have 4-5 years with a value of photo retouching in this catalogue. So many years of metadata. I didn't want to lose it all.

At anyrate, I was able to shoot the catalog, and when I tried to open it in Lightroom, he complained that he was corrupted and he would try to fix it, LR has failed to do. With a little research, I could empty the LR schema and reset the database, deleting constraints bad (there are three). After that Lightroom was able to reopen the newly restored lrcat file and everything was fine. I immediately supported the current state of this catalog to my NAS for well-being.

The catalog is of course the operational plan, however one thing. My scroll bar containing my images, to the point, are all empty without thumbnails. If I click on a given case, the image is displayed on the portal with all the metadata (the changes that I made, if its been marked or rejected etc.) and the missing tile is regenerated.

How can I get my thumbnails in the scroll bar for those lacking? Some are there others are not.

I know this isn't my video card, or use of resources or whatever related to the equipment, it must be something with cache or something. Any contribution is appreciated.

Please see the screenshot below. Thank you

It was a generic pointing to build 1:1 or build Standard previews.

  • Make the Ps to create thumbnails for image CR2 files

It's frustrating trying to find an image with file names cryptic camera.  Why Ps creates thumbnail images of these types of files?

    CR2.jpg

Not really as photoshop can't write in raw the camera file photo, just the car aside. However, if you are on windows, Microsoft has a camera raw driver for windows 7. I him have not tested with windows 8.

If you can't find it, let me know and I'll see if I still have the link somewhere.

  • thumbnail and image viewer

I need to make a page with a bunch of thumbnails, where by clicking one of the thumbnails allows this bigger picture in another part of the screen. I know that this is possible, but I don't remember that the terminology is. Could someone tell me what it's called so I can google a tutorial on that?
    Thank you
    James

    Hello.
It s easy. I will try with my bad English, explain how. Only
    as a trainer.
1 create a table with 2 cells and 2 rows.
    2. now, in the first cell on the left insert a thumbnail.
    3. in the second cell to the left insert an another thumbnail.
    4. now select two rows on the right, while right click and select table-handset
cells. Insert one of your big picture here. It's the will of wich image
be seen when the page loads.

    5. Select the images, one by one, and down in the Properties Inspector, you
will see a small image. Give each image a name in the small white box.
6 select the first tile, then click on the menu of the Inspector of tags. Click on the +.
in the behaviors and select Swap Image.
    7. in the new Swap image box, select the name of your big picture and in the
Source image click Browse and select the large image that correspond to the
miniature, you select at point 6.

    Repeat the process.

For the swap image is set to mouse to the default, click on "on mouse over.
    and change to the click.

I hope you understand these steps.

  • Windows Explorer thumbnail JPEG image that is superimposed with the icon in the lower left!

When displaying thumbnails of JPEGs in windows Explorer, the tile is covered by another icon so that the lower left corner of the thumbnail cannot be considered.  The icon is a blue square with double white arrows on the inside. Someone can tell me which program is what actually happen and how can I stop it from appearing on the tile.

I suppose that you have an installed Norton Security Suite or Norton 360 and that is what causes these icons.  They exist to indicate whether or not a file was supported upward (I think they become green when she was saved, but I'm not quite sure that I will never use Norton products).  From what I read, there is an option somewhere in the menu or the toolbar of the Norton program to disable this "feature" - you can search yourself or ask for help from technical support of Norton http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/dtree.jsp?pvid= .  I understand why it affects shortcut icons, but I do not understand why it is affecting. JPG files but apparently from what I've read it's very common.

If you grow tired of Norton and the problems it causes (if you did not experience even further than this, I'm sure you'll eventually - I see a lot of them here), you can switch to the free Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Microsoft-Security-Essentials-Download-131683.html (Windows Firewall is perfectly adequate and Norton or anyone else really adds nothing of value) or maybe Avast to http://www.avast.com/index.  They are both excellent anti-malware programs even if they are free.

    I hope this helps.
