This happens when I want a page of a site, an e-mail when the site offers to share the page via Facebook, Twitter, E-mail.

    Hello

You are running Outlook Express on Windows 7. You must mean the service of electronic mail on the web, outlook.com

To use send this page or send the link, you must have a defined default e-mail program.

Up to 2 exceptions (covered later) does not allow a web e-mail service by default.

Windows Live Mail is popular and easily adjustable to serve Hotmail or Outlook.com e-mail service
    http://explore.live.com/Windows-Live-Essentials?OS=other

Thunderbird is another popular e-mail program http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/

Microsoft Office Outlook (not outlook.com) can also be set as the default e-mail program.

After installing an e-mail program, make sure you have a default e-mail together program control panel > Default programs > set access and computer program defaults > Custom > click the caret down.

The default e-mail program must be installed on the computer - for example Windows Mail (Vista), Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, etc.

Web-based e-mail services cannot be made except by default e-mail program:

  • How to install a default mail client?

    How install "default mail client?

If you are referring to the Windows XP's default e-mail client, his name is Outlook Express, and it should already be installed by default.

    What is your particular problem?

  • "not installed default e-mail client." What does that mean?

I am responsible for the maintenance of a website for a club which I am a member.  The club has a generic Hotmail email address we use to send e-mail to and receive e-mail from people.  I put this as a link email address several times on the site, so that people can contact the club.  When I click on one of the links I'm stuck for an e-mail sent to the Hotmail address.  However, now someone has sent me an email to my personal email address, saying that when they click on one of these links, they get the "default e-mail client" message not installed.  Since they can send email for me but not for the club, when the two email addresses are authentic, it's a mystery to me.  They use the browser Internet Explorer and Outlook OWA for emails.  Can anyone help?

    David

This error message simply means that they use a browser for their email and not an e-mail client AND seek to "send to" or some other function, an e-mail client is required for.  I suspect that there is something unique on the link of the web site or anything else on the site.  I suspect since you are the owner of the site/page (and probably have an e-mail client installed) you do not see the problem, but those who do not have an email client.

  • When I try to reply to an ad on craigslist, this is what I get... Please help... default mail client is not properly installed

How can I make yahoo.com my default mail client... If I may respond to craigslist

So that the MailTo URL work, you should have a real email client installed, not only to access messages using your web browser.

If you download and install Yahoo Messenger, you should be able to make Yahoo webmail your default e-mail client.  To know with certainly, however, please come back to this thread, click on modify just below your post, change the Version of Windows, menu dropdown to indicate your version of WIndows, then click on submit.  Without knowing your version of Windows, it is difficult to formulate definitive proposals.

Unlike Windows XP & Vista, Windows 7 does not include a default email Client. [What were thinking?]

You will need to install a (e.g. MS Outlook;) Windows Live Mail; Thunderbird) , and then set it as a default for mail in CUSTOM (<>) article in Set Program Access and defaults of the computer , then restart your computer before any function send to or MailTo will become available.

  • install defalt e-mail client

How do we install defalt customer nails

    Hi John,.

Without knowing your operating system, or your e-mail program and version, it is difficult to be precise with an answer as there are a differences.  If you mean literally during installation, most e-mail clients ask if you want it to be the default mail during the installation client.  If so and it is not requested (or already installed), follow these steps:

For Vista, you would go to Start/Default / Programs / click on set your default programs / click the program you want to use the default value of the e-mail and click on set this program as default and click OK.

Then in default, programs, go to Set Program Access and Computer Defaults.  Double-click Custom.  Scroll to choose a default e-mail program and select the program you want in the present choices and check the box to enable access to this program. Click OK to save the changes.

That should do it. I guess Windows 7 and XP are similar, but would require them to be certain research. You can probably figure out how to make from the above, but if necessary, the post of return, your version of Windows, your e-mail program and your email provider and I'll try to provide more instructions specific to what alternative present you.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Hypothesis: Try to recover from a failed installation of XP Service Pack 3? - and - install correctly the e-mail client!

Windows XP Home - I dropped a SP3 installation failure - and continued to my business.  Started to get the error message with IE features failed: "mail client is not properly installed.»  Advice seemed simple - "set access and default program ' but I couldn't find the options described by 'start' or 'control panel' research brought me to information which"set the default settings of the program"was a feature in SP1.
So, here I am making assumptions.  1. How can I "correctly install customer e-mail (I use aol).»  2. I NEED TO revisit the attempt to install SP3?  Did the failure of the installation of the SP3 clear features in SP1?  Start a new installation of SP3?  Thanks for all the advice (but please enter slowly to more old-but-eager man who yet does not speak "geek" very well).  Thanks in advance. -Bill

    Hello junosa,

Windows XP and Vista have a default value, that customer e-mail included. Windows 7 does not work.

    Once done, restart your computer.

  • Cannot perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed... help

I can't send an e-mail from a link on a page without getting this error... "could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed"...    My windows mail is set as default and I can receive and send him good, please help.

    Thank you

A program is defined as default does not mean that it has considered all of the default roles available.  In the case of Outlook 2007, there are 13 total default values that can be assigned, and it should have each of them.  It is possible to default Outlook for e-mail, but not the default value for write links in web pages.
