Turn off the display in Windows 7

I need a script or command to put the screen of one computer.

Note: don't want additional software of PS script. I need run this user level access.

I don't know what are the effects of the power consumption for a screen saver.

If you used a powercfg command to turn off a monitor, you would save power.  You can set this as a batch file that contains the command [which would be a single entry line] for each user to run.  You can also use such a command to apply a setting idle time-out specific for the power management to use during the powering of monitors [I have no knowledge of the management of the field so I don't know if you are likely to have other tools to achieve anyway].

You can see most of the syntax of this command by opening a command prompt and then enter

powercfg /? > \Desktop\Powercfg.txtyourusernameC:\Users\

There is some additional info on TechNet.

The only other note I have is not officially documented, but it works.  It is not relevant to your question but just for the sake of completeness-

the powercfg - q command lists the properties [it's documented]

but

the command powercfg - qh lists properties, including hidden properties [this is not documented.

  • Pe10: How to turn off the display of the frame on the timeline?

Hi - I've just upgraded to Premiere Elements version 10, and I see an improvement in reliability.  PE8 broke with regularity for me, but PE10 crashed yet.  It is a huge improvement fo rme.

One thing that slows down my low editing much expected PE10 to redraw only the video on the timeline when I zoom in and out, scroll, etc.  I do it a lot when I change a video multi-track project and I get on with spending a lot of time waiting for PE10 to select and reder to images in the scenario.  I looked through the preferences, search fo a way to disable the display of video images on the timeline, but the only setting that I can find is the one that allows to set how scrolls the timeline panel, but nothing on how to control the display of video images on the timeline.  I think it has a setting somewhere given the duration of the UI has endured (maybe since version 4), and the amount of testing that Adobe has obviously made on version 10.

I guess that I don't have to turn off the display of the frame on the timeline.  I'd be happy with any technical that allows me to edit interactively and not spend hours waiting for the timeline to complete images.  My computer has a lot of horses (quad core i7 to 3.3 GHz, 12 GB of RAM ant compatibility), so it's at the upper end of the material that first Elements users should be running.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have. -Ole Pa

Looks like you are using the 64 bit version of Windows 7. You ensure that you have installed the 64 bit version of the program? That alone should make a huge difference in performance.

Then go to the track header (name of the track, to the left of the timeline). If you click on the little icon of film on the track header, you will be able to switch between the different ways the clips appear on your timeline. If you see a period of time that you expect of your video display refresh, try to set the view so that only the first and last frame of the clip is displayed.

You can also go to Edition/Preferences/general and set the timeline playback scroll Scroll of the Page rather than smooth scroll.

I want to reduce my battery drain while recording events any longer.  How can I turn off the display while recording?

There is an option to disable "Power on by using LCD Panel.  This deactivation allows you to record with the LCD closed and so will extend the life of the battery while recording.  The option to disable should be found in the configuration menu of the system (which resembles a key) and the option you choose is 'Off '.

Ah, I see - I don't think there is a way to stop this behavior when you are working in Design view in DW CS4. If you were still using CS3, you could deselect the "use CSS instead of HTML tags" in the General preferences category, but who went in CS4.

  • Windows 7 turn off the display does not work when you use empty screen saver.

My friend is running Windows 7 x 64 on a desktop and x 32 on a laptop.  He found that if he chooses the screensaver empty (set to 5 minutes) and will display at 10 minutes, the screen never goes round.

On my laptop, I use the screensaver of ribbons with the same settings and my laptop screen goes off as planned.  However when I go to the screen saver, the display is never off (actually so that empty screen saver was active, my mouse reappears after a certain time).

There seems to be a Bug with the Windows 7 built in empty screen saver.

    Thoughts, other experiences, etc.? Alex

    Hi archimedes027,

I hope you are well, I understand you want to listen to music but have no display on your pc.

If this is correct, there are two options that are available to you first open windows media player, right-click in an empty space at the bottom of the player and select options in the verification of the Advanced box section to enable the screensaver during playback,

the second option you have is if you use another music player ie itunes then in the section Customization via right click on a empty space on your desktop, select the screen saver options and set it to none, and then click battrey you and together turn display both you need , windows 7 will be dim your office after a short period and in your turn to your screen settings.

hope this helps let me know

    your

    Ashley

  • Re: x 505-"turn off the display" does not properly

To make a long story short, I had a load of problems with my Toshiba Qosmio X 505. I talked to tech support and they had me completely clear the computer and reinstall the OS. Everything has been fine for days until today!

For some reason any whenever my screen turns off (for energy saving), I can't get my computer to respond. I don't know if he's asleep, going into hibernation mode, or even the difference between one of these things, but when I press the buttons, move the mouse/Touchpad, try multimedia keys, the power button, nothing makes my computer come back. I have to hold the power button / stop and completely restard come back again the computer.

Why is this happening? It worked great for everyday, but I think it has something to do with the NVIDIA driver update I downloaded. It is the main change I have made to the computer yesterday and now it seems to do. Does anyone have recommendations? How can I make my computer stop doing that? I have all the options of my black screen off for now, but that does not seem a good solution for this problem that he used to work properly.

    Hey,.

Akuma is right, you should only use the display drivers provided by Toshiba and not nVidia. The nVidia drivers are not pre-tested and that's the reason why they can cause such problems. Also they don t have an overheating protection, installation happens on your own risk.

If you need to test it with the drivers from the official website of Toshiba. Prior to installation, remove the current display driver, and then restart the computer. Then you can begin with the installation of Toshiba display drivers.

In the worst case it of necessary to reinstall the whole system again, but before that, you try a system restore to an earlier point.

  • Turning off the display during the rendering?

    Hi all-

quick question for you, is there a way to disable the display of images in rendering? And if so, it helps the rendering process run faster?

    Thanks in advance

    Sincerely-Douglas

Yes, and it will make it faster. You can press Caps Lock shift once again to see the rendering to check on progress and press a second time to turn it off. It is really very convenient.

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    Pavilion Elite e9237c-b

How to disable the display of pop-up the volume when adjusting it with the volume controls of the keyboard on the keyboard model KG-0851?  Although I love this feature, most of the time when running many web videos such as watch a live NASCAR race hitting the volume control causes the video to return in a small window instead of stay full screen.  I really realize, this isn't a problem of HP, but you would like to know if there is an easy way to switch to the display of the volume on-screen bar and the.  Even if I have to change the registry, I could easily create a toggle script.

P.S. I went through all the options of sound and manual control and nothing to do, but it is possible that I narrowly missed the option somewhere.

Your model has the software HP MediaSmart isn't? There HP MediaSmart SmartMenu? If that software usually causes the problem you are experiencing.

Click Start, run box, type msconfig, and click OK. In the window that opens, go to the Startup tab and uncheck "HP MediaSmart SmartMenu.
