Hello
I will try to provide short answers, but if you have any other questions do not hesitate.

# Probably you are missing something. I put t know if you have installed all necessary drivers but try to disable illumibation in the BIOS settings. Also make sure that Toshiba value added package is installed on your machine.
# No it is now too late. You can only create the recovery with this software disk. In s manuals is clearly describes how it works.

    Hello

I bought the Satellite U500-1FN and after a format I have a problem with the touchpad. All the works expect to scroll.

I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba site, but nothing. I'm doing everything I check enable scrolling and everything.

    Any ideas?

  • Satellite U500-1FN: would like to have a keyboard backlight

    Hello

I have this model u500-1fn without keyboard backlight...
If I buy a keyboard backlight for u500 will work?

Hmm, the laptop must support the backlight for the keyboard if you want to use this keyboard.
Under the keyboard there should be a slot in order to attach the cable from the keyboard backlight.
If it is available then you should be able to use this theory

But I read also some threads here in the forum and in many cases this didn t work even as the keyboard backlight backlight was used

  • Two questions on my satellite A350-20s

I bought the Satellite in June 09, and my problem after a year and a half to have the laptop.

I sent Toshiba Support on my problem. Basically, all started in January of this year and the laptop screen simply erased. The laptop was still active, but it just looked dead. So I restarted and each time two things would happen:

1 the time of when the laptop went dead is random, sometimes it will not load even at the Windows startup screen, other times it will last about 10 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes. (It was a struggle even to copy all my files on as it kept crashing!)

2 the screen sometimes turns off, you will get a random through a color screen or black line or it will be like a really random colors on the screen set.

Toshiba wants me to pay £80 books odd just to watch what comes, I do agree with.

Has anyone else had problems or can offer my advice at all?

    Hi Hiddenlooks
Your sounds of issues such as the graphics card / motherboard issue and unfortunately: in this case, you need to replace parts, but as mentioned by Akuma, it might be possible that it is cheaper to buy the new notebook that replaces parts

    1. when the battery is fully charged, I can leave the Ac adapter connected and power the computer on the sector or remove the battery to avoid overloading?
battery 2-How long should power the computer if it is fully charged? (Approximately)

    Hello

    1. you must not remove the battery. Your device is the latest standard and batteries cannot be overloaded. It is recommended to occasionally work with battery power and pay.

  • Re: Two questions on the recovery of my Satellite C850 / 09L

    Hello

I had an unfortunate accident with a drink and my C850 / 09L while in the hospital, and while he was cleaning that I used my external hard drive on an old computer.

Long story short, while making the usable drive I have in some way managed to make the unreadable UEFI and need a recovery disk to fix it (which I did not cause of course I was in the hospital when the laptop was given to me).

    I have two questions:

    (1) the recovery disk creator organize files in a specific way, or can I copy the whole partition on a USB flash drive and make it work?

    and

    (2) if I am able to use the recovery partition copied or obliged to buy a Toshiba drive, the recovery disk difficulty will be just the OS or it will wipe my files as well?

1 / recovery disc Creator create a special bootable media that can be used for the installation of laptop recovery image. If you want to install the recovery image, you MUST create this bootable media.

2 / Yes Yes please before you use it to backup all your important data.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

I have a problem with nvidia powermizer, nvidia g210m gpu does not go to 3d in 2d clocks or low power on battery and plugged in.
The result is that the battery life is shorter than 1 hour, and the laptop is hotter.

The recovery is not an option.

  • Two questions on Satellite L500D-00F

    Well, I have two questions.

On my hard drive of diving, there are 4 existing partitions, and I want to create a new one for a dual boot of Windows XP. I currently have Windows 7.
I can create a new, but when I try to format it, it says that there is too much existing partitions. 4 partitions are a recovery 1.46 GB, 435GB C drive, 17.86 GB and a GB 10.60.
What are the 17 and the 10 GB ones for? Is it safe to delete them to make room?

My other question is where can I find the drivers for my laptop?

I don't know where you bought your laptop model and the structure of the partitions is not known to me.
Googling around, I found some info and assume you have the Canadian cell phone model. Can you confirm this?

Anyway, Canadian download page, you will find under http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_bymodel.asp

  • Satellite U500 - Bluetooth emits BT monitor vs Bt Stack

    Hi all

    My wife machine is a Satellite U500 - 10 L PSU5EE-002003AR, now with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (originally with pre-installed Vista, later with W7Pro 32-bit).

Now, I always had various problems with Bluetooth on this machine, and it is the only machine I've ever had problems of Bluetooth with, for the most part related to connectivity to the internet via mobile phones.

More generally, I connect to the internet using a mobile phone to control Bluetooth Sony Ericsson and Sony Ericsson PC Suite software (currently and elm and occasionally a hazelnut or a C702.) This configuration has always worked without problem on all the other machines I used, like my Getac B300, the old HP Compaq 6710 b given to me by my former employer for a few years and even my old Thinkpad T42 (now deceased) and my mother's old Macbook untrustworthy. With these machines, I've never had problems connecting to one of the phones or internet, without any drops of connection or any other problem issues.

Not the same with this U500. I write this when connected through PC Suite, Bluetooth Monitor 4 as the hardware controller. The connection is intermittent at best, usually unreliable and sometimes downright impossible. Sometimes it works perfectly for days at the end, and sometimes it just refuses to work. As a general rule, however, get a connection more often than otherwise, but the question is annoying nevertheless.

Now, I tried a different approach: I uninstalled Bluetooth Monitor and SE PC Suite, installed the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and tried to connect to the internet directly through the BT stack. I paired the Elm to the U500 successfully from the BT Stack Panel and managed to establish the connection, well. But I had no internet access whatsoever. Now, the phone shows that it is actually connected and if the BT stack control panel and monitor Windows 7 connection in the system tray, but there is no real access to the internet (I have only the small yellow triangle with the no message + internet access, but the phone is dialed in.)

Then, I tried to reinstall PC Suite (with BT present Stack), and things became even worse: now the BT itself between PC Suite and the phone connection is only sporadic and intermittent, but sometimes it works well enough to get a connection (although somewhat reliable).

So now I have uninstalled the BT stack, reinstalled the monitor BT and went back using PC as a result of the composition and the same issues that I mentioned previously to persist.

Now, my two questions are as follows: a. Why did not get any Internet with BT Stack, even if the phone was actually composed for the connection? and (b) assuming that the internet access issue is resolved, I'd maybe get a connection more reliable (i.e. one that is not suddenly decide to drop from time to time) with BT Stack instead of the installation of PC Suite/BT monitor?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

A long time ago I ve tested the BT feature with my laptop LG and everything was OK. The configuration was not so complicated.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with your problem. I put t knows anything about your mobile phone, internet provider, or anything else, so the only thing I can do here is to you recommend to visit the knowledge base of Toshiba BT under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=howto

You will find lots of interesting documents and also documents how to connect your laptop to the Internet.

  • Satellite U500/00 x PSU5EA - second partition disappeared

    Hey...

I have the Toshiba Satellite U500-00 x his Australian machine... This is the second time it happened...
I have two partition one is for Windows Vista and other where I put the data... before suddenly two weeks less than one second my other dissapeard in car and when I saw him in my Comp-> Manage.

She gave free space for this player and when I allocated space for a player, it was empty, but later I was positive to bring the data back with 80% recovery software...

Now, yesterday happened the same thing and this time the software recovery isn't yet able to return data only 10% data are back and even some files of them are corrupted...

can we know what is the reason to go by car?

    Hello

To be honest I have never heard of this show something like that's never happened to me and I didn t read all other threads like this.

Usually the partition should not be affected by installed applications.
In my opinion, this issue may be related to a HARD disk problem
The partition was perhaps not created correctly partition table has been damage.

However, I think you need to format the HARD drive again and it must recover in order to recreate the partitions.
Maybe this could helps avoid the problems of the others.

U500 is also mobile friendly. I like it a lot, but it is unfortunately too small for me

  • Re: Satellite U500 - 18K - where is the bag and the driver on the CD?

I just bought this laptop yesterday and when I read the manual book its has said that the package includes the bag and the driver on the CD but I had none of them, only the laptop and the power cable.

When I ask the man to store, he says, it's all... no other. Where can I ask questions about it? Or is it a common thing?

  • Docking station for a Satellite U500

    Hye,

I broke my laptop power supply. I can't change it to another because it will always be the same.
I'm looking for a docking station, but I'm not able to find one that is compatible with my laptop.
Is it possible that no one does exist for this reference? Or I do not know how to find?

    My laptop is a * SATELLITE U500-119 *.

Thanks for your reply if you have ever had to find a such accessory.
You have found another way to submit this question?

    Thank you very much!

    Gaelle

    > Is it possible that no one does exist for this reference?
If your computer laptop doesn t have docking connector on the underside, it is not designed to work with docking station. As far as I know that u500 has not so Toshiba does not offer any station to home for him.

In General, a docking station is available for laptop Tecra and Portege.

  • Satellite U500 - drivers not "signed": cannot install

Toshiba is really the best laptop I've seen! I had to change my HD because of a hardware failure (dead disk); before that, I did a "recovery disc" Toshiba System. I thought I would just to boot from this DVD to reinstall them all. BIG MISTAKE!

So I started BLAH this DVD, lights up process (an hour, already a great delay!), BUT a few drivers, especially one wireless, can not be installed! I get a message that "Drivers must be signed and therefore cannot be installed" and am kindly asked to get the "good drivers!

On the Toshiba site there is no "good driver", I received those who are supposed to be for me, but still the same message Windows.

So what to do? This "recovery disk" does not recover even the correct drivers? What a great joke! And of course the computer was sold without any DVD!

OS: Win 7 64 bit 'home', with legal license.
