  I started my course on a PC (I had recently a PC built when I started, so I couldn't justify the purchase of a Mac at the time). I am now about to purchase my first iMac and I'm still a student so I need the creative suite on Mac. I have the Master Collection CS5 for PC.

  I'm not sure if they allow a student to buy the two platforms?

  I'm fine with the uninstallation of the PC version. I know that I won't be able to transfer the CS5 PC-to-Mac CS5.5. If I need to pay for the student of the Master Collection for Mac version, I am able to afford (barely, but it is a necessity!) but there's no way I'd be able to pay the commercial version.

  What are my options?

  Hi vjadore, it is good news.  There are some obvious limits student editions , but with rules of Adobe you pouvez buy a product twice for both platforms, if you want that

  However, one of the assumptions in your post was not quite right...

  You actually peut change your software existing operating system to another... even the versions of education.  This is what we call an 'extension' Adobe platform and people do all the time.  Here are the instructions to get an extension of fact, if that's what you want to do

  Yes, your license allows you to have two facilities activated simultaneously, so if you want to you can have both machines busy and active so that there is a backup should it come in handy.  You can also contact Adobe via chat and ask them to reset your activations so that you have one (or two) released for a new installation.
