Unable to connect to Netflix via Media Center: "there was a problem of signing. "Make sure your internet connection is working and try again.
Original title: why is Netflix in Windows Media Center does not connect to the internet?
I watched movies on Netflix via Media Center before and I've never had any problems. However, I did use the Netflix on Media Center app for a while. Whenever I try to open Netflix in Media Center the bed error statement there was a signature issue. Check the works of your internet connection and try again. This product even when I'm connected to the internet, can surf the web, download music on iTunes, etc. What is happening and how to fix it?
Tried to access Netflix today and I found to work again on my Vista 64 Media Center. Anyone who is on this thread should see if them is work and response back.

Original title: Netflix in windows media center, connection problems
I saw disorder connect to Netflix on windows media center. I am running windows vista x 64. When I select the icon of the login screen appears, but when I try to connect it comes up with the error message "there was a problem of signing. Make sure your internet connection is working and try again. "my internet connection is fine and I can connect to http://www.Netflix.com/, so this problem should make windows media center, but I can't understand it. I have updated windows and windows media center and I'm still having this problem. Thanks in advance for any advice.
The most likely explanation is NetFlix changed something in their routine of authentication (i.e. SOAP structure or just a URL string, whatever) and who broke the Vista NetFlix WMC client. It did not affect the web interface of NetFlix because operated a NetFlix service, they were obviously aware of the change pending and adjusted their web client to use the new method.
Customer WMC NetFlix in Windows 7 (which is a new product), was probably already coded to use the new method. The client in Vista has continued to work with the old method, until NetFlix finally stop this method. Microsoft, slow to react and to assign developers to fix the Vista NetFlix WMC client missed the deadline and Vista users have been in the dark for a while.
That's pretty standard for web services that cross corporate barriers. Particularly involving slow mega-body like Microsoft. A company change a routine and the other has to play catch-up. Communication is often difficult between the divisions within a company, between companies, it is often non-existent.
The level of prissy whining in this thread was good for a laugh however. Those threatening to cancel NetFlix: rolleyes: your access was still working on their Web site. You were not without service, just, without the convenience of WMC. People grumble at Microsoft... anyone know if Microsoft was still knowledgeable of * when * NetFlix was going to turn off the old authentication? If they were told the night before (or any) "Hey let's turn off the old authentication routine" what kind of response do you expect? How long is it since the problem began, 28 days? It's actually a pretty fast for an element relatively low priority. Or it could just be that NetFlix reactivated their old methods of authentication as a temporary solution to this problem (they share a part in creation) until Microsoft can respond formally with an update.
Now if Microsoft was duly informed advanced evolution of the service, still dragged feet (quite possible) I don't give them no slack. But at the end of the day, it is always a matter of low priority. It's fixed now, be happy until the next time that Netflix change their authentication routine.

"There was a problem of signing in." when signing into Netflix
Original title: When Will Microsoft fix support for Netflix in Media Center?
Every time I run the Netflix player of in Windows Vista (32-bit SP2) I am invited to log on to Netflix and presented with an error "there was a problem of signing."
* I do not install software in beta as IE9 on this computer. It is running IE8.
* I have read and followed the tips at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972496
* I have not all ASCII characters senior weird in my e-mail address or password
* I'm back to a March 7, 2011 Restore Point
* I've uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin from Netflix and Silverlight
* I deleted my cookies and cache in Internet Explorer
* I properly connected and watched movies from Netflix through the IE web browser but not WMC
* I restarted several timesI noticed that several other application vendors had problems with their Netflix viewers around the same time and most of them already corrected.
I performed a network packet capture and noticed Media Center tries to authenticate to the web service of Netflix OAuth and she receives a 503 Service unavailable from Netflix answer.
I called Netflix support and was told to contact Microsoft, because the problem is NOT with the Silverlight Netflix Player component; the problem is with the Microsoft-developed MCML-BASED component. Support for this issue lies squarely with Netflix AND Microsoft since this is a problem BETWEEN the TWO component MCML-BASED and the Netflix authentication system.
I tried the instructions in the following link, even if it's for Windows 7; It did not help either:

Netflix in WMC «there was a problem of data recovery...» »
I installed the latest round of updates (Ultimate) of Windows Vista and it apparently burst Netflix in WMC. Now, I get the error:
"There was a problem of data recovery. Make sure your internet connection is working and try again. »
Internet works on the machine. I reinstalled Silverlight (v4) and Netflix for WIndows Media Center.
How to diagnose and repair the problem?
Thank you!
Keith...
Sorry for the delay, but I've been busy (in my free time) trying to get this to work.
I gave up trying to resuscitate MCE and installed a brand new Windows Vista Ultimate Edition with Service Pack 2. After apply all WIndows patches and installation of Silverlight, I have the "Netflix" element in MCE. He invites me to install, what I'm doing. However, every time I start MCE and go to Netflix, he tells me to do reinstall - no login screen.
I tried all the "mcupdate" article and then supported your steps above, but no go.
I did this twice, so it wasn't just a fluke. Apparently, the part of Netflix to MCE is not detect the plug-in that it installed.
Any thoughts on what to do then?
Thank you again...
Keith...
Later: I ran "mcupdate" after the steps you suggested, and now Netflix is gone again!
Later: same problem on my other computer running MCE and Vista. I don't want to mess up this computer so I left as what.
Later: opening of a new post on problems become Netflix to work with a clean install.

Netflix in Media Center does not work anymore
I am running Windows 7 Professional, and until yesterday had zero problems watch netflix via media center on my pc that I use as a HTPC. I don't know what happened, but now I can watch Netflix in Media Center, or with a film from my browser to start. It gives me the same error every time, a code error and said he had problems with signature and try closing and restarting the program. However, he has no problem logging into my account and see my queue of the movies that he simply doesn't play anymore. I tried to come back to Silverlight version 3 based on somehing I read elsewhere, but also reinstalled all the dependencies for Netflix and Internet TV in Media Center with no luck. In addition, I did a system restore on the eve of problems, left with no luck. Netflix said that this is a known Microsoft issue and they can't help with it? I have confirmed that I can not connect and watch netflix on any other computer in my house is not my account network or netflix, only this HTPC. Any help would be appreciated.
Brian
You have the same problem if you create a new Windows user and test with it?
Have you tried to clean the temporary Internet files, Cookies, and history from your browser?

context: a previous thread with an identical title never responded, the problem just disappeared. Well its been two weeks since then and the problem came back.
somethings which may or may not apply: internet TV seems to work better in media center. All updates have been applied to H.P. of Vista SP2. Netflix works fine in ie8 (such as the internet, of course). Tried to delete all the Internet Options, delete browsing history section of Internet Explorer. I get the same error message with my windows 7 professional media center, but netflix seems to play anyway (no game with vista). I recently installed quicktime alternative 2.72 to see what it was and how it worked, then removed and put back in quicktime.
Tried / symptoms:
-Remove all the browsing history (econcepts)
-Same message on Win7pro but works even when (econcepts)
-Works on Win7 no problem (omegafiler)
-Works in ie 8 (econcepts)
-Works in crome (Martin TX)
-Consensus is that it started around December 30, 2009 (GeoffG1, johnetX, me)
-Remove and reinstall silverlight (omegafiler)
-Remove and replace netflix plugin (omegafiler)<- how="" did="" you="" do="" that="">->
-Netflix says: microsoft problem (Nitestalker)
-Microsoft is silent (this thread - on vacation?)
-Same problem on 32-bit and 64-bit VMC (JRSMiamiFL)
-No applied update (johnetx)<- perhaps="" date="" related="" or="" drm="" date="">->
-Disconnect from netflix, you reconnect again - ultimately the same error (chicagokiwi)
-Tried to reduce the number of items in the queues to well below the limit of 200 (econcepts)
-Tried the register / unregister the third wire procedure, no joy (does not break anything else however)
-Disabled the firewall, no change (econcepts)related topics:

It started yesterday (30/12/2009) for me. I looked fine the day before without problem. The message I get says "there was a problem of data recovery. Check the works of your internet connection and try again. Ok. I make it work with both my VMC - one with the service pack and the other without. My OS updates have been loaded in early December, so I don't see how this could it be. I searched and found this problem has come up before, but I have not found a solution. I made NO changes to my HTPC.
Those who have and solved this problem.
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE *.
2009-01-05 has attempted to start Netflix this morning and you know, it works on both my VMCs. That's the good news. So now the real questions are:
Only 20 people reported it as a problem and only 6 on the green button. I believe that it affected all the world with Media Center. So why not discussed much?
It already happened, causes a stir and silently slips without known cause or cure. How can we find out what caused this and how to prevent it from happening again in the future?

Movie from Netflix in Media Center
I have windows vista media center home premium 64-bit version. I was able to watch movies through the center of media until recently. It automatically pulls up to my account, etc. in queue, but when I click on a movie to play it takes me to a login screen. I try to re-login, but it goes just to the same screen and will not play. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail... same problem. I even uninstalled and reinstalled silver light, but it doesn't work anymore. If anyone has had this problem and have they been able to solve it? I can watch them via Explorer very well, but I want to be able to use media center. Help, please!

Search does not work in the Netflix for Media Center app
Under Win 7 Pro and IE 11 2 machines & Win 7 Pro 64-bit & IE 11 on a single machine. Same thing happens on all 3 machines.
When I connect to Netflix in Media Center and try to search, I get the following error message. "There is a problem with the application at this time. Try again
thereafter. »
If I use 11 IE or Chrome, everything works fine. Does anyone else have this problem? I can also click on something that I have already watched and which works very well also.

On windows media Center, there is no spot on the home screen menu to allow me to add extender? Can anyone offer advice?
Hi Halam.
Thanks a lot for your help on this. I don't know if this method would work as I finally found a solution after hours of playing with different settings and downloads. For others who are trying, I found that you need the rollup2 update (which I got) If you have this, go to this link www.xbox.co:80 / fr-U.S./PCSetup/MCE05Lite and follow the instructions. I don't know if it works for the extension, however it worked to use my xbox as an Extender.
Now, I have these two pairs, unfortunately I have a new problem. As the menu tasks is not yet here, that I can't go on an Internet browser. Basically I try to videos from websites to my tv via my xbox and I have found a method to be very simple to do, if the menu tasks was on my version of windows media Center. If anyone can offer advice on this, I would be very grateful.
