Unable to Type in editable PDF form

Hi all

I created a PDF form can be changed using Acrobat Pro. I selected and created the various text boxes on the form. No one is 'Read only' selected.

I saved the form and opened it with Adobe Reader. At the top of the form, he said "This PDF can be completed using the tool to add text comment". When I select the tool, it is active with a slider. When I click in text boxes/fields, inserting text (I have logs) cursor disappears and is replaced by a selection arrow. That is to say. I'm unable to complete this form.

Of course, I did something wrong, but I have no idea what.

Can anyone help please?

Best regards

Steve

Do not use the tool to add text comment, as it is to add comments to a PDF document, and not to fill a text field.

If you are using a version of reader earlier than XI, you need allow Reader users to complete the form. In Acrobat 8 Pro, it is advanced > enable usage rights in Reader.

If you have Reader XI, you need not to do.

  • InDesign CS5 - you can create editable pdf forms?

    Hey guys

I'm probably in the hope a little too much here, but in the past, I've created editable pdf forms by setting the entire doc in IDCS3 and then to create the form in Acrobat Pro.

I don't think that IDCS5 has added a trick new (a little hidden feature) to be able to create all (including fields etc.) in the ID?

    Thanks in advance

    Tom

No change except that Acrobat 9 Pro did a better job to recognize fields than earlier versions.

  • Is it possible to integrate an editable PDF form in an html page?

It is not possible, you * may * be able to get the PDF file integrated via an iframe, but you certainly wouldn't be able to save the information, at least on the server.

  • Editable PDF form creation

    Hi all

    Can someone help here...

I'm trying to create a PDF document in Acrobat Pro extended 9, which is a form that can be completed and recorded by the end-user. I have created the document in InDesign and use Pro to add in the editable regions.

Here is the PDF file: www.leshooperfitness.com.au/pdf/exercise-meal.pdf

I can open the file, add content to the shape, re - record and retain information. However, I'm having all sorts of problems with other people to save the contents of the file, sometimes it works, sometimes all content is wiped and sometimes the content is there, but you must actually click on a text box until the content is displayed. Other people are sometimes on a Mac/iPad, but even when they use Adobe Reader, they are able to save info and sometimes it remains registered on their machine until it is sent to me, then it disappears. Other times they save and when they go back to it, it's gone. But it doesn't seem to be a pattern of consistent, it doesn't seem like a very reliable registration information means.

Anyone know what I could do wrong? Or, is there a more effective way to create editable, interactive forms?

    Thank you

The problem see you with the content not displayed until the field has focus is a problem well known forms PDF which were filled and registered with the app Preview on Mac. For more information, see: http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/885/cpsid_88564.html

Thus, users of Mac (OSX) should use Adobe Reader, rather than the preview. Windows users do not use an as well as capable as Acrobat/Reader Viewer, so you make want to check also.

On the iPad's default PDF Viewer does not support interactive PDF forms, so you will need to use a viewer that does. Adobe Reader for the iPad does not at the moment, and the best which is Expert PDF of Readdle.

  • How to edit PDF form fields after registration

I am very new for PDF forms and thought I was getting better.  I'm create forms of Word documents and need to make frequent changes to the PDF form after that I have recorded because I'm still learning.  I thought I read somewhere that you should be able to change the properties of a field after saving a copy, but that did not work.  I forgot to uncheck "Ahmed multi field" and the need to set in my text boxes but I can't change.  I continue to recreate the formula over and over again on the Word doc.

    Hi Ally1286,

Save a copy, it is required to change the form when you have distributed the form or registered as a Reader extended PDF. In this case, if you want to add scrolling functionality to a tool to "Prepare the form" field then go in (in DC) to the title of the Toolbox on the right.

On this screen, select the file and click Start. Double-click on the field and go to the 'Options' tab check the appropriate box.

Let me know if it works for you.

  • Edited PDF form will be not updated for editing from the browser.

So I was sent a form that I had previously made editable has been changed and I had to add checkboxes and text boxes. After registration and in the browser window, new fields, I added are not allowing me to enter or check them in the browser, but when I open the PDF in Acrobat Pro, all fields are appearing. Is there a special way to save the pdf file to make editable in the browser? I did it once before, and it worked fine so it's a mystery to me at the moment. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Here is the link to the pdf document to see what I mean. All the boxes are here so I don't know why it will not work in the browser.

    Help, please!

I agree with TSN thought that it's a browser problem, such as the MAC preview. I opened your link in my browser and it worked fine.

  • Is there an easy way to save a non-editable PDF form?

Is there something like "Save as non-formulaire PDF" in Acrobat PRO? I have a form that I want to use, and then save as something that is simply not editable fields, PDF. Preference in a way that does not include complex things, because if this is the case, I would rather just create a document of word processing I can crank out print in PDF format.

I should add: I tried "Clean up the document" but that transforms the content of pages in pixel-based images, and this isn't what I want.

I should also add: I don't want to trust stuff like security, locking and this

I should also add: the result should be a PDF file that is usable outside of Adobe apps (no Adobe PDF viewers)

You can easily flatten the fields of the form, which converts the apparitions of field content page regularly. This can be done with preflight, PDF Optimization or the doc.flattenPages JavaScript method. The following free tool uses these and actually very simple: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Cannot type inside the PDF form in Windows 7/FF (last)

I use Windows 7 and the current version of FF.  I'm trying to complete the 2011-2012 consent and release form form to the: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/first-student-team-information-members-system--consent form and and when it starts, I can't fill the fields online.  Any ideas?

The creator of this form has not added form fields, if you can't fill

    It Digital.

You can either use the typewriter tool, add the form fields yourself, or

Print the form, fill it manually and send it by mail or scan

    and return it by e-mail.

  • How to edit pdf file (in indesign) without having to re-export then and redo all the fields of the form and formatting?

How to edit pdf file (in indesign) without having to re-export then and redo all the fields of the form and formatting?

Edit PDF files in InDesign is not a good idea. If the file was originally exported ID, then change the original and then create a new PDF file.

Open an old, and then use the command replace Pages to insert the new pages on the 'old'. The fields that you have already created will remain in place when you do this.

  • Interactive forms - can autosize forms of text when the student types in the PDF?

I worked on this problem for a good week and I can't understand it. I need to have the students write essay answers in PDF form for the text field of the form must be completed by the student. The form must indicate the text box increase when typing moves to the next line, so that the student can still see the answer full. I want to push the issues in the lower text boxes down as types of students.

Please let me know how to do this with InDesign and Acrobat XI. I have Adobe CC so if I need to use another program, please let me know that too. Thank you very much for your help!

There is no way to resize the text box in a PDF form. Mulitline and scrollable is the best you will get.
