  • Is there a way to recover deleted history sites? Also, a way to prevent unauthorized users to erase history?

Is there a way to recover deleted history sites? Also, a way to prevent unauthorized users to erase history?

You need administrative rights to do this. Be careful as it is possible to easily create a very difficult to solve waste.

    Run gpedit.msc

    Reach

    -User configuration

    -Administrative templates

    -Windows components

    -Internet Explorer

    -Delete browsing history

Disable the feature turned on 'delete browsing history '.

You also probably want to configure

    -InPrivate

    Disable the active InPrivate browsing

If you use IE8; Otherwise, the user can simply avoid registering in the first place.

    Also - the browser menus

Tools menu: Disable Internet Options... menu active

would be a good thing; Anyone who shouldn't be allowed to delete the history of should not be also change too much in the Internet Options.

For some reason, changes to this setting of group policy have no effect in IE6 and IE8 on a workgroup computer XP Pro.

In fact, I would like to disable the entire Tools menu item; However, there don't seem to be any means to do.

    Run gpupdate /Wait:0

Any user who cannot access gpedit.msc, editing the registry (regedit.exe, regedt32.exe) or mmc.exe may re-activate it now grayed out in the menu items.

Note: mmc.exe can be activated by right clicking my computer even as a limited user. Remove or deny permissions to these files for administrator users.

I would like to configure them on a per user or user group basis. Does anyone know of a way to do by not part of a domain?

I know no direct way to recover deleted history sites. Perhaps, they enter the trash somewhere. They may be captured by the network of monitoring programs, even if they have been deleted from the personal computer.

  • What is the use of having a password if an unauthorized user may cancel its requirement?

I don't understand why there is a cancellation of the requirement of password button. If an unauthorized user to access my account by internet or this pc, what he has to do is click the button 'Cancel' on the pop-up password (password is required to access my mail) and there is full access.

It's the same thing with the password. The field will allow even one to get into a new, which makes no sense.

Email passwords and their actions are administered by the e-mail providers. Participation only Thunderbirds is to store the password, if you have selected this option and give it on the server being queried.

The master password is to protect access to your passwords registered and not to your mail.

If someone gets access to your account via the Internet web mail interface, Thunderbird has nothing to do with it.

  • Unique firefox profile all users and profiles on networks

I am trying to configure Firefox like standard browser for an entire building, and this framework is to ensure that all firefox profiles are registered readers personal network rather than local machines. I can use the Profile Manager to do this on a user base, but what happens if I want that all users of any machine, using the same firefox profile that points to a specific network drive? (This will ensure users always have their browser settings and no matter where they go, allow us to move outside machines without losing all the browser settings, etc..) The contents of this drive is specific to the user account, but still have the same way.)

As far as I know, the profiles created in the Profile Manager are specific to each user (domain), which would mean a lot of creating manual profile. Is it possible to ensure that Firefox always uses a specific profile of Firefox or the path? Is it possible to have the control of firefox profiles exist (in a .bat file, for example), so I can create the appropriate injector if necessary? Can I use a command line to set the profile to be used by default, or that can be done from the GUI Profile Manager?

Finally and this can justify a separate query, but I found that when you use profiles that link to a network drive, trying to open firefox on multiple computers will fail (another instance of firefox is open, close it or restart). I can tell Firefox to force the old instance closed, or I have to firefox.exe - no-remote 'differentProfile' Pei each time?

We are on Windows 7, moreover, for the sake of references.

Sort of. I don't always have a perfect method to check the presence of a profile, but as a solution, I'm looking in the drive location of my custom profile for prefs.js Server (IF EXISTS 'path\path\Firefox\prefs.js' (thing do)), and that will at least tell me if I have created something here or not.

  • How can I allow a standard user to add wifi networks

I have a standard user with a MacBook Pro running Mac OS El Capitan. She must be able to connect to Wi - Fi networks when you are away from the office, but I don't want to give him an admin account. Currently, the MacBook Pro requires admin approval every time

How can I set this up so she can add wireless accounts while a standard user.

I don't think it's possible. You will need to give its administrator privileges, even temporarily, or go with it at each location and add them to it.

  • How to prevent users from changing the network connection?

    Hi all

I have a weird problem. I set up my HP ThinPro T610, I have to say is simple enough. I want users just to turn on the computer, wait a few minutes and log into the Terminal Server Services on the Server RDP connection, so I basically blocked every user of things could possibly click - they have no taskbar, etc. Connection Manager.

Now, there's one thing I can't block - 10 seconds, users can see "Network connection" pop up, in which they can - at my enormous disbelief -change the connection settings.

I can't find a way to block this... everyone can share their experience with this issue?

    Hello

Hope you use thinpro 5 OS

Could you please try these step

    1 log in administrator mode

2 Goto advanced - Xterminal regeditor and type

    3. go in config wizard

    4. change the value to enablenetworkcheck and save and reboot

  • The directory of the user on the mapped network drive

I want to move my user directory C:\Users\Edwin to a mapped network drive E: (i.e. mapped from a network share \\\\192.168.22.9\share ).

The difficult part is to move the directory of the user himself. I found 2 possible solutions, which are not applicable for me due to my use of a network drive.

    1. Move C:\Users\Edwin" to "E:\Users\Edwin , and then use a symbolic link of junction ( mklink -J ) to post a link to C:\Users\Edwin .

This does not work for me because I can't create a symbolic link to a directory on a non-local drive junction.

    2. Changing the value of registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ProfilesDirectory of %SystemDrive%\Users to E:\Users before you create the user "Edwin".

Later, when the "Edwin" user first connects, the profile will be in E:\Users\Edwin .

The problem is that I met a problem of the egg and the hen.

When you first login as a user 'Edwin' profile will be created in E: . However, at the moment I first login, the mapped network drive E: is not there.

I tried without success to the following:

    1. Create a drive mapped persistent administrator. Did not work. The mapped drive is only visible to the administrator user.

    2. Create a mapped drive persistent using the rights system (using PsExec -s ). Did not work. The mapped drive is not 'owned' by anyone, not even the current administrator user.

    3. Create a drive mapped persistent by using the user newly created by Edwin, without opening a session as Edwin again (using the PsExec once again). Did not work. It is possible to create a mapped drive under a different name, once I tried to do it with persistence ( /persistent:yes ), I get a Access is Denied error.

No idea how this can be done? Or is it it even can be done at all?

Thanks in advance.

Address you internal IP is defined by the router or the ISP based on your configuration.  If you try to change the internal IP address using "static IP" you shouldn't have to enter a user name and password so that it is in configuration and fixed like that.

You cannot change the external IP provided by your ISP it however.

  • Is there a way to create a plan of action in vCAC and allow a user to select a network?

    Hello

We have 30 different VLAN used for various tasks within our Organization. I was wondering if there is a way to create a unique model vCAC and alow the user to choose which virtual machine network join to (at the time)?

It's not like I can use a vCenter customization specification and just set up 'network-> Custom Settings-> interrogate the user'

Or I have to create 30 Blue each connected to a different network?

    vCAC Build 6.0 - 1720522

    Thank you

    Tom

This will show you how do

[virtualjad.com]: vCAC dictionary of properties: customize applications for Service with dynamic Menus

You use custom properties to achieve this. You won't need 30 blue, build a logic and apply it on a plan of action.

  • Disable the ability of users to eject the network connection

Recently, I noticed that my users are able to eject the virtual machine network connection, they are connected to. Looks like it is a feature of VMWare Tools, as I have on my VMWare Fusion VM the same capacity as in my view deskltops. When you click on the media eject icon, you get a menu as shown below:

    Eject.jpg

I wish I could show only the removable disc this menu, but especially the network connection. Does anyone know how to do this? I have not found anything about this when you search here or on the internet generally. It may be that I do not use the correct terminology to search for, because I can't imagine that anyone met this as a problem before.

Thanks for any help you can provide

    This can be disabled...

  • Filevault2 allows an unauthorized user to log

My Macbook Air (early 2015) has active Filevault. I am the only user of this machine.  At the time, I put in place the FV, I nominated several users who have been authorized to unlock. and note the FV recovery key.

At the time, one of the users has been Admin; I later changed it to a Standard account.  It was my main ACCT to work. After the ACTC has started having probs (though not immeddiately after the account type change) which seems to be specific in itself, I created a second account.  Call them Smith and Smith2, respectively.

I did Smith2 and a Standard acct also gave it the same password: Smith.  Smith2 has not added to the users allowed to unlockk the Mac because I don't know how to do this pr wheter this can be done at all.  My plan was to transfer Smith to Smith2.  I had not thought about Filevault until today.

I just realized that Smith2, a user not allowed to unlock the Mac, can simply connect as if encryption has not been enabled.  I was wondering if it might be because the password was allowed to FV, I changed the password of Smith2.  Made no difference.

Under the Security tab of the SysPrefs, he says that Filevault is turned on.  Today, working in recovery mode (in utility disk on an external drive, when I was ready to restart, I selected the MacHD and that it was necessary to enter a password to unlock it, before it will re-start in MacHD.)  If parts of the operating system behaves as if encryption is enabled.

But for Smith2 to just breeze in full means the encryption does not work!

I can, of course, try disabling encryption and then turn it back on again.  But it's really annoying.  Thought I'd post here for your thoughts - maybe there is a bigger problem that needs to be addressed?

MacBook Air (early 2015), Yosemite 10.10.5 kept up to date.

I would like to get this straight: Smith2 may not unlock FV, but can login and access Mac directly after a reboot (without all the other accounts connected)?
