unrecognized attachment

I got weekly agenda info form a customer.
In this letter, there is an attachment in a zip file.
But it is not recognized.
See below

Thank you, I could understand myself, but this seems to be the problem,
the sender of these emails does not add the correct code in the mail file.
It should probably be
application/x-zip-compressed;

and is not

  • Attached a letter not displayed

Since I installed Sierra some attachments in the e-mail application do not display you can see that a letter to them.

Sierra sometimes omits the last accessory and where there is a single attachment is it still missing.

It seems to fail if the account is configured for IMAP access. POP access is not the problem. Better send Apple. Go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html and em let know.

  • So with the new update every attachment I get an Outlook user is converted in a winmail.dat file.  How Apple could make a such big screw-up?  Even when I check gmail via apple mail conversion is made, but if I connect to google, the files are

Why is each attachment outlook, I get in the Mail now converted in a winmail.dat file?  I don't want to go make an app to allow me to open these files - it is something stupid on the part of Apple - please correct!

  • Attached to an e-mail being damaged when moved.

I a spent a strange in Mail. I think it started when I updated to Sierra late last week, but while that reasonably sure it's that I can't be 100% sure.

My main mail account (IMAP) is a third-party provider (but this seems to be repeated with other accounts including my iCloud accounts).

When I send an email with an attachment pdf, the recipient receives it very well, the mail is placed in my inbox sent very well and it displays fine. However when I move it to another folder for the PDF archiving seems to disappear.

This happens when I move it to a folder of archive "on my Mac" and also to a folder in my email to iCloud account. Not every email with an attachment pdf for this although cases where they are rare, and I can't find even a boss who to and who are not. Sometimes, instead of disappearing, they will turn into an appearance of type long machine code.

If I chose to copy the message to a folder instead of moving it, both the original in the sent folder and copy to the folder of archive are concerned.

I think that the pdf is damaged rather than deleted because...

    • E-mails always show icon of attachment (paperclip) next to the recipient in the message list in the column to the center of the messaging application.
    • In some cases if I select several e-mail I enter to see the attachment in the graphic "multi-Courriel stack" displayed in column 3 of the messaging application.
    • If I move or copy the mail on my iCloud account, I see both a pdf on my iCloud.com phone but my phone it opens a blank document gray and iCloud.com reported as corrupt.

If I drag mail with an attachment pdf on my desktop the same thing happens.

This doesn't happen with the mail that I get with a pdf file, even if this mail was sent from myself as a test.

Have you ried, in this case also, if you set "Mail > Preferences > General > remove the download" to "never" instead of one of the automatic options?

I seem to have lost the man so attached after the upgrade of the Sierra, but did not find a model that I have disabled all the messages of all the rules that allow mail delete attachments.

In my view, this problem is related to the automatic "Optimize Storage" and "Reduce the clutter" in Sierra.  From  > about this Mac > storage: one of the options is to keep only the latest accessories.  I never activated, but but most of my older attachments have been deleted.

  • Attached a letter on Sierra

    Hello

Since I installed today Sierra, Mail stopped to let me open or save attachments to emails. When I try to drag a file attached on the desktop, the file icon displays a "Stop" sign, indicating that I have no permission to perform this operation. When I select "look attachments", the following error message appears: "Mail could not save the attachment"attachmentname. " type '... Ensure that your download folder exists and is writable. »

  • Attached to incoming mail in as files winmail.dat since update iOS 10

This cannot be opened since update to iOS 10.0.1 and joined a mail of PC's entry in iPhone & Ipad as winmail.dat files. Able to access via gmail online but not by e-mail, phone etc yet another botched updated to apple I think. What happened to if it isn't broken, don't fix it!

    Hi Peterboynz,

I see that your iPhone / iPad receive are formatted as files "winmail.dat" which you are unable to open attachments. I'll be happy to help you.

If your Mac email contains a winmail.dat attachment - while this article is for the emails from Mac, the question is the same. Once the sender updates their e-mail applications, messaging on a device iOS and Mac applications should be able to open the attachments.

In the meantime, he also winmail.dat readers available for both devices.

Have a great day and thank you for the communities of Apple Support.

  • attachment does not open in my ios 10 PDF

Especially as pdf files do not open in my e-mails.

    Hello
Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

If I understand your message that you are not able to open the PDF files that are attached to your emails. I know how it is important for you to be able to open and view your PDF attachments. I recommend that you try the steps below and see if you are able to open PDFs with iBooks.

  • Of attached Quick Look keeps you from downloading spam?

    Hi useful Folk,

'Quick Look' attachments Mail preventing you from downloading spam?

There are times when I'm trying to determine if an email with an attachment is legitimate, but I'm afraid of "Quick look" attachment lest it somehow temporarily download a virus or some other disaster.

Anyone know if the Quick Look feature is basically the same as a dangerous file download?

I can't find all the items online, including on Apple.com support pages, who carry on this.

If you can QuickLook the attachment, it is already downloaded.

  • Unrecognized internal SSD

Hello, I have a Macbook Pro mid 2012. About 2 years, I've updated the hard drive for an SSD crucial. A few days earlier, I tried to boot my macbook, and he gave a flashing folder with a question mark symbol which I understand means the disc is not recognized hard. I have given my old hard drive and that worked well and the macbook could even start using the attached SSD external via USB, but whenever I put it into the Macbook internally, it seems not to be recognized, so I'm not sure. The cable seems to work because my original hard drive works of him, the SSDS works when used outdoors.

I think that the last thing that happened before it stopped working was a time machine backup that worked as I have restored my original of the hard drive, but I can't have ejected my drive external hard time machine correctly so I don't know if that caused an error with my SSD that was backing for it. Suggestions for my SSD to work internally again would be appreciated.

Install a new internal SATA cable.  A search of these forums will grow many users with the same problem: HARD + SSD drive working outside when it is connected through the USB port.  HARD drive works internally, but the SSD does not internally.

    Ciao.

  • attachment email Export

I recently received an email with a file attached "Attachment".  It opens in an application of textscript and I can not extract or export or transform something that I can edit the file.  It is a "document" with two photos in there and I want to save the two photos in the form of two separate jpg files.  What should I do?

Your mystery textscript app has no export or save as (option key)?

  • I downloaded a document as usual and he does not appear in my downloads.  I found in "All Files" in the Finder.  Why isn't in my download so I can attach it to an email?  Help please!

The files I download are not appearing in "downloads".  I found them through Finder in "All Files."  Why they appear in "downloads"?  I need to attach the documents to an e-mail.  Thank you!

Your browser downloads folder location has changed?

    Firefox > Preferences > General > downloads

Safari > Preferences > General > file download location

Chrome > Preferences > see the advanced settings > downloads

As long as you can find the files via the finder you can then simply then drag them in your email.
