Upgrade SSD VAIO pro

Hi all

the new VAIO (especially SV-P1321C5E) pro series is capable of upgrading the SSD?

I want to upgrade the 128 GB with my 7mm Samsung 840 256 GB: Pei

Thanks for your reply,

Andreas

x3ntar,

The VAIO Pro series uses a type NGFF SSD (or PCIe SSD) and the Samsung 840 you mention is a SATA connection and is made/does not work.

  • With cable of HDD to SSD Macbook Pro mid-2012

I've recently upgraded to SSD (Samsung Evo 850) of the HARD drive on my Macbook pro mid-2012. However, the installation of the SSD has been very painful. I tried to use in recovery mode disk utility, several times but it fails to remove or mount the SSD drive. I thought it was the faulty SSD. Then I hung the SSDS via a USB port and proceeded to install OS X on it (using my HARD drive). The SSDS works very well with the USB key, so I put it in and hooked up with the flex cable that was previously used for my HARD drive. However, this does not work, the operating system sees that there is a reader hooked, sees the name, size and etc, but does not charge, gives me the sign of question mark folder, which means there is no hanging drive. So I think it's something with the HARD drive, SATA cable. But the cable works perfectly when used with the HARD disk. So I was wondering if the HARD drive cable that comes with Macbook Pro mid-2012 is compatible with the SSD. I watched several videos of people the SSD HARD drive upgrade, but they all seem to be using the same cable. Any ideas what could be the problem or if I need a different type of cable? Thank you.

Try this it worked for another user having the same problems.

Your MacBook is looking for initial start-up by car but can not find.

Power on the Mac and hold down the 'option' at the same time, and then manually select to boot from the drive of choice.

    Also, try this first:

    SMC and the PRAM Reset

I have a MBP mid-2012 13 inches and I did an upgrade SSD with a Samsung Evo 850-series (500 GB.). However, I had no problem.

I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the original disc for the SSD via a USB-to-Sata adapter.

My first start was slow because I don't have the SMC / PRAM reset my MBP was looking for startup disk.

However after my MBP starts very quickly. I got no problem with Samsung Evo SSD. They work very well with Macs.

Don't forget to activate the "pad" your non - owc SSD support.

Open "terminal app" and enter the command 'sudo trimforce activate' select YES, YES... and restart after completing

  • How to upgrade my Macbook Pro RecoveryOS?

A few months ago, I upgraded to OS X El Capitan. It has been mostly well except for the Protection of the integrity of system (SIP) always so annoying feature. Since I've updated, I found that my boot rEFInd Manager now does not appear at startup, actually, preventing me to boot into my linux partition.

Just as important, I can not add my unique Esperanto to PressAndHold.app characters because SIP doesn't let me change file permissions. In addition, SIP cannot be disabled because my RecoveryOS is too old for some reason any! According to the profile subject, I have version 1.0 of the RecoveryOS. In order for me to run csrutil disable I must run RecoveryOS version 2.0.

I am running the latest version of OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), so I don't know why the RecoveryOS did not update during the installation. I have a Mid 2012 15 "Macbook Pro (no Retina Display, identifier (9.1) 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM, a 512GB SSD Samsung Pro 850 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M 512 MB graphics card). Please specify anything in the comments. Thank you.

To update the recovery system, you will need to reinstall OS X, you can do either in recovery recovery Internet if your model is compatible with it.

  • Sony Vaio Pro 13 - four hidden partitions, they are good for?

    Question 1:

I bought a Vaio Pro 13 yesterday and am a little surprised that on the 125 GB SSd, I had only 65 GB available for my own data. After looking in the management of the computer disk, it shows me four hidden partitions.

    980 MB OEM partition

    840 MB recovery partition

    260 MB EFI system partition

    15,89 GB recovery partition

While I do not have much on three small partitions, I understand it as the 16 GB in size of the recovery Partition. I have not found a software backup or restore on the laptop but who actually uses this space. If I try to create recovery media, it allows me to use that partition.

    Could you please clarify this?

    Question 2:

If I have a few programs such as Word, Outlook, Chrome, Spotify and Evernote/Dropbox running in the background (without huge image or video files) my RAM is 3 GB to 4 GB. According to me, that this doesn't give me much buffer for the future. inflicts Windows 8 fill the RAM with irrelevant information that can be released when required? In the Task Manager, it shows me that 1 GB is in standby mode, used for cached data and code, but which is not what I mean.

I do think that the recording of the current version and the configuration you have and what in fact the new recovery media point is possible. Support for recovery always returns to its most basic State and cancels all the changes that have been applied to the operating system running. It may be possible, but it would take a lot of research and know how not only open the hidden partition, but also to change its contents.

  • Satellite 1800-400 ME upgrade to XP Pro?

All successful one satisfactory to a Satellite 1800 400 upgrade or similar (384 MB of RAM, 20 GB HD, 800 MHz Celeron) of Win ME?

Would prefer to upgrade to XP Pro, but pure install 2nd choice.

If I have the HD format for a clean install, an updated XP version would recognize the recovery CD Toshiba a legitimate copy of the ME - I've heard that there may be problems?

I have the intention to upgrade the BIOS and collect all the drivers available for this model proposed by Toshiba for XP, but will there still be problems with all the material?

Toshiba drivers must be loaded in a special order, and that is during or after installing XP?

XP is likely to be faster or more slow/about the same thing as ME, with above hardware specifications?

All advice welcome, because I have not upgraded the OS on a laptop before, and the potential problems seem more important than with desktop computers.

    Hello

I put t not see why Windows XP Home edition should not be working on your device correctly. On this forum I have read many topics where users present on Windows XP Home edition on the old models as yours.

Please see the download page for Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp and you will find drivers for Windows XP Home edition.

After installing WXP install display and sound driver first. Then install other drivers of material. The next step is installation of Toshiba stuff:
    Common modules
    Controls
    Energy-saving
    Public services.

It is important to install common modules like the first.

  • [New Sony Vaio Pro] WiFi problem!

    Hey!

I recently acquired the new Vaio Sony Pro 13 "."

Everything seems to work admirably except for the Wifi card.

In fact, the card works fine in a range of 15 feet around the router.

But when I cross this beach, wifi download & upload speed drop strongly: download of ~ 20Mbps to 0, 5Mbps!

This problem is clearly linked to the Vaio Pro as the other computers in my household are not such questions.

    What I tried to do:

    > Re-install card driver intel (available on the Sony site)

    > Change the properties of the map

Unfortunately, these actions did not solve the issue...

Do you have any idea what could be the problem and a way to fix it?

    A few ideas:

    > Card vice (bad connectivity,...)

    > Global issue with new laptops Sony Vaio Pro

    > Not good map properties

    > ???

    Hoping to get some answers,

    Kind regards

I unchecked which and now my mouse works fine.

Thanks for that. I couldn't work at all with the Pro my bluetooth mouse. Now maybe I can - if I can only find where I put the mouse...

  • VAIO Pro 13 Scaling question (Win 8.1 post)

    Hello

I recently bought the VAIO Pro 13 and updated to WIn 8.1, I noticed after updating Office scale has been changed and seems quite large, for example:

Icons - taskbar and desktop to grow

-Charm icons and the sidebar to expand

-Tiles Windows has been reduced to 4 rows!

Is there a way to get back to Windows 8 appearance? It looked like a 1080 p screen before update to 8.1 and I don't like the new scale!

    Thank you

Under control panel, select display [may also righ - click on desktop to get to this]. Then check the box "Let me choose a level of scaling for all my views." After that, check the desired scale.

  • P 8470 & HP HP 8440 P: upgrading to W10 Pro 64 bit / device Reporting - unknown device manager

    I have recently upgraded to Windows Pro 64-bit 10.  Machines involved are - 8440p & 8470p running W7 Pro 64-bit.

    The Device Manager shows an unknown device - ACPI\HPQ6000\3 & 33FD14CA & 0.

Could someone tell me what this is in reference to.  Perhaps point to a driver that I could update.

    Thank you / / Jeff

    You are the very welcome.

The reason why you don't see the driver is because most of the drivers are missing in support pages, which have not worked directly for HP split into 2 companies from 1 August.

This is certainly the driver you need.  If the version of W7 works, I can't say.

    See if it works.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59001-59500/sp59282.exe

If this driver does the same thing...

Go to Device Manager and click on the unknown device of 6000 who need pilots.

Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option, then at the bottom of this window, let pick me from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

Click on disk and go to C:\SWSetup\sp59282\accelerometer and select the HP Mobile Data Protection sensor and see if the pilot goes like this.

Here's a partial copy and paste of the accelerometer installation information file.

As you can see the device is supported by the driver.

But it's the most recent driver is there, I know.
