URGENT driver please, which should I get?

Hello

I have a laptop Inspiron 1505/4600 (E1505, processor Intel Core Duo T2300E (2MB/1.66GHz/667MHz) and had to reformat the hard drive and install a new Win XP Pro. I don't have the original CD of OS that came with it, not to mention that I have not all drivers either so I have to download them all from Dell support center...

OK, the XP installation went well so now I need to have all the drivers installed. I search this forum and realized that they must be installed in the order, so that is what I did:

(1) in the Application menu, I installed the Application Dell (applys for Support Center)

(2) in the menu of Chipset, I installed the Intel Driver (applys for Mobile Chipset) followed by Ricoh Driver (applys to R5C832) just because I didn't have a chipset will be enough or not...

(3) in the BIOS menu, installed the Dell BIOS (applys for Inspiron 6400/E1505 system BIOS)

(4) in the network menu, I installed the Driver from Intel (applys for Wireless WiFi Link 4965)

(5) then I tried to install the Audio driver and installed all the three drivers that Dell has listed on the page but non of them worked...

Now I checked the system specifications and I have installed the following cards:

1-8 X DVD +/-RW Drive for Inspiron 6400/E1505

2 integrated 10/100 Network Cardand Modem, for Inspiron

3 Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 950 GM

4 - High Definition Audio, integrated Inspiron

Can you get it someone please let me know what drivers must be installed and in what order they must be installed and if you could, please post the link for the drivers.

So far, I have a new installation of the OS and was able to find and install the network card and it works fine now. Please be as specific as possible :)

Thank you

Tezarin

Which partition should I use to re - install Windows Vista? A partition is much smaller then the other.

    Hello

you don't say how you are trying to reinstall vista

If you use a microsoft vista dvd you would normally select a CUSTOM installation that gives you the opportunity to see what partitiions are available, what size are they and what is currently installed on them etc.

It is then to you to delete the existing partition where vista is already installed and reinstall on the same partition or where you want to

We cannot see how your hard disk is configured

We can only give you general information on this subject

read the tutorial below well especially the steps below:

Now it's time to choose the installation type. Update or custom are the choice, but as you can see, in this case, Custom is the only option. There are two points to note. The first is under Customs where it says you can use this option to change the disks and partitions. This is true to a point. You can create and delete partitions and resize a partition using the command 'Extend '. The second thing to note is that if you want to 'Upgrade '. you need start the installation from Windows inside.

Once determined the type of installation, it's time to decide where to install Vista. As you can see on the screenshot options in this scenario are limited. There is a 20 GB hard drive and it is all unallocated space. If your intention is to return the entire disk in Vista with none of the additional partitions for other uses, all you have to do is click on disk 0, and then click the [next] button. The installation will continue.

    etc.

Have installed Photoshop CS4. Replaced the drive hard and now I get error code 150:30. What should I do to get it working again

Migration of CS4 breaks the license. That's what 150:30 means. Assuming you are using a Mac.

You can use the Terminal method to repair the license... but I stress that carefully read you and understand the instructions here before you run it. beginning

In this case, the reason is the virtual IDE drive. Increasing the disks IDE is not possible the vSphere client.

Take a look at KB VMware: conversion of a virtual IDE disk to a virtual SCSI disk to see if this is an option for you.

  • floppy drive please insert a disc into drive error message A

I TRIED 2 NEW FLOPPY DRIVES, AND EACH OF THEM GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SAYS: S ' PLEASE INSERT A DISC IN THE DRIVE A.I DID A LOT OF CONTROLS AND I TRIED A LOT OF THINGS TO DO FLOPPY WORK.IT SAYS IN DEVICE MANAGER THAT THIS DEVICE IS WORKING PROPERLY. CABLES ARE NOT GOOD, OR IS IT A PROBLEM WITH XP? ARE MY BACKWORD CABLES, OR THE TWO DISCS ARE DEFECTIVE? IT WILL NOT READ OR WRITE. WHAT CAN I DO ELSE? IT SHOWS ON MY COMPUTER WHERE IT EXISTS AS A PLAYER A. I CAN FORGET ABOUT FLOPPY DRIVES IF I CAN'T GET AN ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM. I ALSO READ THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THE FLOPPY DRIVE, DO NOT SHOW ON THE SCREEN OF DISK MANAGEMENT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APRECIATED. - THANKS.

    Hello

    Exactly what you do when you get the message "Please insert a disk in drive A;

Your cables might be backward. Some cables I've seen can be connected backwards, but normally there is a lack of female pin and/or a physical bar that stops you place the cable correctly. In case of doubt, all cables (that I saw) have an edge that is color which is the limit where pin 1 is. Your motherboard and the floppy drive (s) should also indicate what is pin 1 (sometimes with the number 1) or sometimes by an arrowhead. In addition, the end of the cable with the twist must be connected on the floppy drive.

As you have obviously been disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, you should check for twisted on the Board and the drive pins.

The device does not show in disk management, but should appear in the Device Manager.

Don't you hear the drive trying to search the diskette?

    Are your formatted diskettes?

Have you tried a new pre-formatted floppy?

I do not recommend people to use diskettes these days. The reasons include

    • reliability
    • capacity
    • convenience

Also, although I did not buy the disks for centuries, I wouldn't be surprised to see that memory sticks are cheaper than a box of diskettes and hold much more data.

I would say get a memory stick and use it instead of floppy disks.

    Tricky

  • Should I get a Macbook Pro or an iPad Pro to use for the next two years while I do my A-Levels?

    Hi all!

So I am currently doing my GCSE, I'm looking to my future at school aka Sixth Form (A-Levels). I won't be carrying massive files that weigh tons and can easily broken / lost files kept in the breast, as do the current year. However, I checked with my school and they say that you can use the technology as an alternative. Instantly I thought to Apple, since I love their products and buy regular. I have a Apple Watch, 6 s iPhone and an iPad 2 Air (we sell) but I want something new and powerful, I can use for Sixth Form.

So my question is, should I get a Macbook (any model) or a Pro iPad with accessories?

    I take:

Technical design - so should run CAD, Word, be fundamentally powerful and able to have sketches.

Media Studies - must be able to manage several videos 4K and execution of things such as Word, books, and iMovie.

Geography-Easy access to the internet anywhere, possibility to draw diagrams and just to run applications etc and be good at watching documentaries, etc.

Mathematics - internet access and video on good quality, easily be able to write notes and information.

So which one should I buy? Please can you help me

Given your needs, a MacBook Pro seems to be more appropriate.

  • Drive on which Windows XP to reside is always labeled as a system drive. How can I make one of the other disks that has Vista or 7 that the new system?

    Change the system drive

I'll try to explain my situation better than I can.

My situation is that when I used to have XP installed, I had installed the only drive I had back then which is now the drive D, for a long time, so I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit installed on two different discs, Vista is installed on drive C and 7 is installed on drive E , but I don't have XP that I had managed to get rid of it.

My problem is that the drive on which Windows XP to reside has always left this disc marked as system in the disk management window, and I was wondering how to do that one of the other readers who has Vista or 7 that the new system?

I already managed to change the startup disk from drive where Vista is installed to, it's just that I need to change the disk that is marked as system to another drive, such as D drive begins to show signs that it comes at the end of his life and I would like to move the startup folder as well as the other files needed to start on the other.

I assume that you installed Windows XP 1, then Vista, 7 (these 2 OS not in order)?

And Vista and 7 was by all means upgrade installation?

Since originally, that you have installed Windows XP on drive D, it should be marked as 'system' and retains so the tag 'system '.

The volume of the 'system' should be identified as the first primary partition active. It may or may not have the files it contains.

The fact that the system considers "system drive" does not mean that there are files that it contains.

Now, you want to delete the existing volume and create a new volume. Needs to be done outside the facility.
When you start the cd or DVD to start the installation list us readers, if you remove the volume the volume drive letter is already booked, so you get the next available drive letter, do not re-use the deleted volume drive letter.

If he removed during installation and then recreated as a new volume (formatting does not remove the volume, you need to delete the volume and recreate it)

-[Posted by Darrell Gorter [MSFT] in another forum.]

Try to format the XP partition and change the drive letter.

  • should I get a 32 gb iPad mini 2 or a 16 GB iPad mini 4?

Wednesday next on my birthday and I can afford only of these two models. First of all, I must tell you that I am an iPhone owner of 128 GB 6 where all my music is. I play all the games, I play just sometimes a couple of them. I'm a sucker for touch id I get really paranoid people guess my PIN, and I'm too lazy to hold a long password/PIN. I plan to use it for reading College books and for social networking. Which should I expect?

I would recommend mini iPad 4

Best processor, camera and updates future better iOS

Also get a 64 GB model, since the storage space cannot be upgraded.
