  Here are a few things to check before launching performance index Windows (WEI).

  • Quit all running programs, and restart the computer before running the assessment (WEI).
  • Check with the manufacturer of the computer or the motherboard manufacturer for BIOS updates.
  • Make sure you have the latest Windows 7 compatible drivers for the graphics device installed (video card).
  • If you have any third-party media players installed, uninstall them until the end of the evaluation of the WEI.
  • If you have installed any third-party Media Codecs, try to uninstall them until the end of the evaluation of the WEI.

  Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder C:\WINDOWS\Performance\WinSAT .

  You should see the following 8 videos.

  2 files with .mp4 extension.

  3 files with the .mpg file extension.

  3 files with .wmv file extension.

  Double-click each of these files. They should open and play in Windows Media Player. These are the files that WEI runs video performance.

  One thing to remember is that the WEI score is only an indicator of the ability of the main components of hardware on the computer. It has no effect on the performance of the system.

  It is possible that you have corrupted cache files; You can try to delete the cache folder and check if that helps. You can also temporarily disable your firewall and check if all of the parameters of the firewall is a cause. Better support for the effort, I'd say uninstall you the current Windows live Messenger and install the latest version (http://download.live.com/messenger)

  Contact Adobe support and the problem was solved.  Of course, I wish I could tell you how the problem was resolved.  On receipt of emails to answer I just tried it again and of course the exercise files downloaded.  I asked for an explanation of how this has been resolved, but at the moment no answer.  I probably wouldn't get it in any case so too technical.  Thanks again for your efforts and just want you to know that it was appreciated.  Still not sure if I did or if there is something I should be aware of the future.

  I don't know what it means 'I hit reset.

  If you used Windows system restore, you can re-run the system restore and select "Undo my last restoration."

  If you did something else - and return to a 2008 version of your desktop sounds as you did - then the answer is that your data is probably missing.

  You should probably ask Parallels support or in a Mac forum.
