Using Bridge CS5 with Photoshop CC?

Hi, I currently use Photoshop and Bridge CS5 and was going to register for service CC Photoshop/Lightroom but noticed this does not include the bridge as an organizational tool. I would still be able to use my CS5 Bridge along side new versions of Photoshop/Lightroom or attempt to install it cause incompatibility? Or would I need to get an extra sub in order to allow the opposite bridge CC?

Andy Martin

Andy,

The Photoshop/Lightroom includes bridge CC.

If I remember correctly it is a separate download and Setup, but it is included in the price.

  • Where can I get the Adobe Camera RAW Nikon D7100 update using Bridge CS5?

Where can I get the Adobe Camera RAW Nikon D7100 update using Bridge CS5?

    Currently using:

    Adobe Bridge CS5 v. 4.1.0.54

    Adobe Camera RAW c. 6.7.0.339

    Thank you!

The D7100 was added to the list of devices supported in Camera Raw version 7.4, which is compatible with Photoshop CS6. There is no Camera Raw plugin for Photoshop CS5 that will support this camera. You will need to choose another software, or use the free DNG Converter to create negative digital copies of your NEF files. Then you can open these files DNG using Camera Raw, you have now.

Another problem with CS5 was the Bridge opens as a process in the background and must be closed in the taskbar > hidden icons before updating.

    Good luck

In fact, you have had a chance, I'm surprised that the D800 goes back to CS5 and ACR6.7

    HI Timp,

Sorry, but that kind of image manipulation is not for the purpose of Lightroom and more oriented toward Photoshop and retouching of composition of similar images.

  • Bridge CS5 with CS4 files cache problem

If I use Bridge CS4 on a directory, then open the directory even with Bridge CS5, bridge insist on rebuilding thumbnails and previews (as shown on the lower status line).    If I reopen it then the directory in Bridge CS4, it rebuilt again inches and previews - but only inches seem to be rebuilt.   Preferences in both versions of the bridge are "identical".  The bridge cache files are kept in directories of images.

The construction of the cache seems to be pretty fast (faster than expected) - I don't know what, if anything, is being rebuilt.

    What is an operation expected?

This poses some difficulties that I have 530 000 images (7 terabytes) on Bridge CS4 and the reconstruction of the files would literally take weeks to rebuild.

Central cache built in Bridge CS4 allows not in Bridge CS5, as expected.  But there is a way to save a lot of time is the construction of a local cache in CS4, which will produce 2 hidden files '. '. BridgeCache «and» BridgeCacheT' in the same folder with your images.  After that when you open the folder in CS5, the thumbnails can get out of the local cache, which will be much faster to rebuild the cache.

For reference, there are 2 ways to build the local cache:

    1. check the option "Automatically export Cache files when Possible" in preferences > Cache.  This will produce a cache local to each folder as you navigate so you don't need to worry about build manually.  It is unchecked by default.

    2. manually build a local cache for a folder and all its subfolders by innovation in the folder that you want to build, then the selece tools > Cache > build and Cache export, with the option "Export Cache files" checked, click 'OK '.

Please try it and tell me if this solves your problem.

    Thank you!

  • Using Bridge CS5 Extended

I use CS 5 Extended, OS Lion, on an iMac.  Recently used Bridge to sort hundreds of 35mm slides that have been processed digitally using a professional service.  I transferred the files scanned in a 'master' file in the Finder on the computer and set up several subfolders in the Finder to sort files in easily identifiable events.     I used the bridge as a light table to transfer the individual slides of the 'master' file in different subfolders.  In Bridge, I see the master file and subfolders in the side window.  In Bridge, I transferred the individual master file sldes to the subfolder appropriate using the drag-and - d├⌐poser.  I used the bridge to sort within different subfolders and rename files in the subfolders. When I'm done, Bridge showed no slides in the master file - all files had been transferred in the subfolders.   In the Finder, I still see all the files in the 'master' file and all the files that have been transferred to subfolders.  Bridge still does not 'see' files in the "master" file  In the Finder, are the files in the subfolders ' copies'.  What is a good way to use the bridge for sorting?  There a better way?

Bridge should see the samething in the Finder, they are both essentially the same type of application. The question really is what we are seeing at the bridge and what we see in the Finder. Maybe from a certain point of view that they are both showing things properly, according to what is actually happening with the files and the settings for each application.

Could you post a screenshot of Finder and bridge showing the location of "master".

  • using x220t digitizer with Photoshop and Illustrator

    Hi all

I bought a x220t and love it. It's a dream come true for graphic designers. However, I have a burning question...

How can I assign the hand (H) tool to the key on the digitizer?

I have another wacom tablet that accompanies a digitizer with two buttons, and one of them is assigned automatically to the hand tool, which makes the work in photoshop and illustrator incredibly easy. It would be particularly handy with the x220t that you lose access to the physical keyboard when in tablet mode. (As a suggestion, buy a cheap compact keyboard, small functionality and efficiency tenfold when you work in tablet mode, of course)

Currently, the button is indexed as the right click. Useful sorta, but not really. It would be much more effective to have the hand tool. How do I? !

    Thank you!

    -FleetCommander

1 first, make sure that you use the latest driver of pen (wacom ISD 7.0.2.19 I remember correctly).

2 open Pen Tablet control panel properties

    3. click on the drop down menu to the function button, it is currently acts as a right click

    4. choose the key combination, press h, name the function and press OK

    It is to be expected.

Creative Suite serial numbers are specific platform: Windows only or Mac only. You cannot use a serial number of Windows on a Mac.

    You have two options:

    1. Pay for upgrade to Mac CS6 (you will need to call Adobe to buy since Adobe really does not want to sell you outdated software such as CS6)
    2. Join the Cloud

Canon 6 d id NOT taken in charge by ACR 6.7.1. He was supported for the first time in ACR 7.3 requiring CS6 to run.

Therefore, you will never be able to open the 6 d directly CR2 raw files in CS5.

If you don't plan on upgrading, you can download the Adobe DNG Converter 8.3 free and autonomous (always use the latest version, it is not related to your version of Photoshop in all), install it like any other application, then run it on each batch of CR2 files to convert them into files DNG raw that you can then open in your version of Photoshop and ACR.

  • How to bring back the PHOTOSHOP TOOLS in bridge CS5.1?

I used the PHOTOSHOP under TOOLS option in Bridge CS5 all the time.  I upgraded my InDesign to CS5.5 and with it I have automatically upgraded to bridge CS5.1 but now ther is no longer an option under TOOLS PHOTOSHOP.  When I try to open the oldest Bridge CS5, it automatically opens CS5.1.  How can I return the option under TOOLS in bridge CS5.1 PHOTOSHOP?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

How can I return the option under TOOLS in bridge CS5.1 PHOTOSHOP?

It seems related to the different versions and their startup scripts. Bridge preferences Start Up Scripts has a script PS showing first check and see if the checkmark in front is verified. If this isn't the case, you must copy the old writing to this location. Don't know if it works and not knowing if you have a Mac or Windows. For a Mac there is library at the level of the root (so not in the user account).

Here is the way: HD/Library/Application Support / Adobe / startup scripts. You probably have two folders, one called CS5 and called CS5.5 one. Try to copy (copy, no travel) the Photoshop script for the CS5.5 folder and try if it works. Theoretically, bridge 4.1 (that comes with CS5.5 - Yes, it is a bit confusing) should recognize scripts. And basically bridge 4 (CS5) and bridge 4.1 (CS5.5) are the same. But if you define Bridge 4.0 it will probably not recognize the new beginning of InDesign scripts.

  • Bridge CS5 Lightroom CC transfer?

I use Bridge CS5 for years and I am in the process of conversion into CC Lightroom.  Is it possible to transfer all of my ranking in Lightroom CC?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi daralikesara

    > Is it possible to transfer all of my ranking in Lightroom CC?

    Thanks in advance! >

This is probably a question for the Lightroom forum, but yes, you can transfer some of that you have defined in Bridge to Lightroom. Lightroom recognizes metadata, so that you can import your list of keywords in Lightroom (make sure to export first of the bridge and put an easy place for you to find). It is not all individual transfer. That you have added the description becomes legend, for example. Lightroom also recognizes the coast to stars, but the labels of Lightroom are not equivalent to the bridge. So if labels are critical for your organization, you can turn them into a key attribute, you can then filter on the keyword and accordingly apply the labels of LR. Otherwise, they'll all be white.

Do not forward collections. Lightroom must first catalog and create previews for your images, and then you can create Collections for them inside Lightroom.

I'm sure that you will have many more questions about Lightroom, then here is the link to the LR forum:

No you have not, but in case you decide to unsubscribe, or if there is a problem with CC, you'll have something to fall back on. Unless you really need the space, it won't hurt to keep it around as a backup.
