Using HP Diagnostic and Win 7 HP PC system repair disc to another, even 0 s?

A friend who has a more recent with Win 7 HP, HP nor his family know little about the period of the PC, has it completely messed. He asked me if I could fix it, to make a long story short, I can't access a large part of what. I couldn't find any Active safety system. Norton 360 trial expired, Windows Defender is disabled.  I can't access Windows Explorer or the control panel and Windows Update does not work... The list goes on and. I believe there is a major Virus in the machine by the way he told me he started acting about 2 weeks, he started when he was on the opening page after page line.

It's funny, he thinks really that Microsoft took his machine and since he was on a Government web site (?) they are both after him!

I told her that I need to run Recovery, probably destructive if I can't back up its files.

I tried restoring the system to a point more a month, has not helped. I know that the first step is to get rid of the Virus, I was able to get Windows Defender working and updated, quick scan revealed nothing, and I had to start a full Scan him before I left.

I know that if a mouth full, but here is my question... Can I try to use HP's Diagnostics and Win 7 HP system repair disc I created from my PC on his PC (same OS)? Just to see if it helps so I can get a security software installed and running before you run the recovery.

Thanks Risingsun

Hello

You can certainly use the Windows 7 repair disc as long as it's the same version (IE 32-bit or 64-bit).  However, if there was a large number of malware on the PC, I would say that your suggestion to restore PC to factory settings may well be the best option as this reformatted the hard first of all - this way, you can be sure that everything has been cleared until the operating system is reinstalled.

To perform a factory reset, there are 2 main ways. Either process will erase the data private so.

1. If your friend has created a set of recovery disks, insert the first and reboot the PC to start the process.

2. Another way is to first shutdown the PC, and then tap away at f11 as soon as you press the power button and this should access Recovery Manager, which then allows you to reinstall the operating system.

Kind regards

  • Screen of C850 - 1 H 8 satellite flashes and turns off using SSD and win 8

Hello, I bought a C850 - 1 H 8 of Ebuyer and I removed the hard drive installed windows 8 on it and installed my SSD, and then a clean installed Windows 7.

The laptop was working perfectly, and then after a little more than a month, the headphone jack has become defective intermittently. I contacted Toshiba, they picked up the computer laptop, fixed and returned.

When the returned laptop, I still pulled the hard drive provided with Windows 8 and replaced by my SSD with Windows 7 top.

The laptop screen started flashing on and outside. So I thought ok, they must have changed the material. Using the SSD even I formatted it and then reinstalled Windows 7.

I find that contrary to front - that my laptop according to the system information for Windows - is manufactured by LG and not Toshiba.
I also find that the desktop screen and startup splash turned into a screen LG and not an a Toshiba.

I contacted Toshiba and they gave me, told me to ask for a replacement from Ebuyer. I was passed between the two companies constantly. Then I took the hard line with Toshiba and said that they have damaged my computer and I want a replacement or I will not buy another Toshiba product.

I then return a petulant response from Toshiba, actually insinuating that aside from the faulty earphone Jack, it was my fault. Incredible.

I had not used my new laptop at all really after all of this, because I'm sick of all this. But today I started to use it again, and after some time of use, the screen flashes again. Even after using a new installation of Windows 7 and the clean use of Toshiba Windows 7 64 bit drivers for the right model.

    What can I do?

    See you soon

    > When the laptop returned, I still pulled out the hard disk provided with Windows 8 and replaced by my SSD with Windows 7 top.

It was not good because headphones is part of the motherboard and I think they replaced the motherboard. In such cases, the bulk of the material is changed and do not use the same system pre-installed due to the compatibility of the driver. This can lead to physical problems.

But the screen flashes at the beginning with 8 win preinstalled?
Have you seen the LG sign turn on/off the unit after replacing the mobo?

Maybe service guy (ASP authorized service provider isn't Toshiba but independent company) I forgot to update the DMI and therefore LG sign appears on the screen.
But in my opinion this should not affect the screen but this should be verified using Toshiba original image (Windows 8)

    Hello

I bought a new Portege with Win Vista on it and Win Xp on a CD Revovery. It has worked on my new laptop. Then I installed Win 7 on it without making a backup of my system of work. It was a big mistake. I downloaded Win 7 of the Toshiba homepage divers. But the Fingerprint Software means that there is no sensor. The driver has been installed. After much trying, I used the recovery CD. Now I have WIN XP on my system with the same problem. It was a recovery with all the drivers CD. He had to work. But it does not work.

Someone at - it an idea? Could someone help me?

    Best wishes

    Hallo Martin

You are right. It should work fine if there is no problem with the sensor itself.
Is it difficult for you to test it with Vista image too?
I mean if the situation is the same, maybe you should contact the nearest authorized service.

  • Satellite Pro U500 - multi-boot with Win 7 and Win XP

    Good gentlemen,

Please help me with this query I have.

I just bought a Satellite Pro U500 with Windows 7 installed. I also have a TOSHIBA Windows XP product supplied with the laptop recovery DVDs. Was told I could downgrade to XP with the DVD.

I want to install Win XP in addition to the existing installation of Windows 7 on a different partition, I intend to create.
Can I create a create a separate partition and then use the recovery TOSHIBA Windows XP product DVD to install Win XP on it?

Am just worried I might spoil the on the laptop's recovery partition?

Basically, I want to be able to run the current Windows 7 and Win XP on my machine and want to know the best way to do it without damaging the existing TOSHIBA recovery partitions.

I want to use the recovery DVDs TOSHIBA Windows XP product to install XP on a new partition with windows 7 OS.

    Thank you

    STRAPPING

    Hi-band,
+ downgrade to xp + means that you are not allowed to use your win7 installation any longer...

    ask problem "dual-boot":
burn a DVD restore *, choose from the start menu

After that, you can choose partition wich you like "sacrifice" for xp and install it...
XP can't 'see' the install of win7, but you need a Boot Manager to boot both systems (xp is crushing the win7 boot code)

or you go the other way:
installation of xp and then install win7
This has the advantage that win7 offers you the ability to boot xp from the bootmenu.
in both options, you lose the hard drive recovery!

  • Using Windows Xp and Windows 7 in dual boot

    Hi all

I'm new here because I like your forum for quick answers.

Yesterday, I installed windows 7 on my laptop and Windows Xp added today.
I want to have a dual operating system, so I can choose where I want to work.

The problem is that Windows 7 is not available but only windows xp.
I read it beter to install xp before 7.

    How can I manage now?
Should I do a fresh install for Win 7?

First of all it of Nice to hear that you like this forum, I love him too ;)

    Back to your question;
You can use Win 7 and Win XP together!

First of all, you need to install Win XP.
You then create a second partition for Win XP.
Then, you need to install Win XP on the second partition.
But it could damage the Win 7 Startup Manager and you will be able to choose only to Win XP.

This can be repaired. You take a disc of Windows 7 (not recovery disc! Win 7 disc should be) and have to boot from that disk it will repair Windows 7 boot disk

Now, you might start in Win 7.
Here you need to install a tool called EasyBCD. It s a Boot Manager tool that helps you to the entrance of Win XP to Windows 7 Boot Manager

After that two BONES; Win 7 and Win XP will appear in the Boot Manager.

    Welcome them

  • HP 7 (5701ng) steam: questions and win 10 flow 7

    Dear HP Windows 10 gurus,

I upgrade my HP Jet 7 (5701ng) Tablet to Windows 10 twice now, but I'm having a few problems that I hope experts can help with.

    1. The F11 on Start method of the BIOS to perform a factory reset is not available more after the upgrade to Windows 10. It is really important that Stream 7 users have the ability to easily perform a reset factory must take place 'the worst'. I recently had time to big problems after installing a 3rd party on my 7 Stream antivirus product and although I could have run his own routine through Windows uninstal, I would have liked an option with restore instead, as it can then be no doubt on bits left out etc.. What HP wil do about it?
    2. My tablet is (depending on your suport tech Department) intended for the German market. When I bought here in the Ukas a factory Refurb, the device came with a Euro to UK adapter attached to the charger Euro area - an acceptable solution. I recently got the support of HP recovery on USB by HP and the tech support person said it's a tablet of the German market, the content of USB support will be for the German product, but will have an option of English language. Indeed this is the case, but even if I chose English as the language at the beginning of the restore process, there are still many places where German dialog was displayed and I don't want that. In view of my camera has been renovated plant for sale on the British market, is there a chance the English British recovery menia will work instead?
    3. As a result of the foregoing, it is very painful to have to restore Win 8.1 update, before upgrading Windows 10 - and of course the free upgrade is only enjoy unti 1 year after Win 10 is out There will be recovery of 10 Windows media to Stream 7 available and there will be a way I can replace the memory stick cntents with it when it becomes available (to win on the detachment of the memory sticks etc.).
    4. The 7 flow does not come with the GPS, but I would use Microsoft on Windows 10 cards. What is the recommended HPs Connect USB Dongle GPS to add this feature to the jet 7. I would have bought a refurb flow 8 but theyjust don't seem to be available here in the United Kingdom (at least not at similar/only slightly more expensive prices for what I paid for my Stream7).
    5. I often have problems to get the battery percentage to get just by tapping the icon in the system tray battery - maybe it's a problem of Windows 10. Can he be looked at and resolved please.
    6. I would like to be able to load the stream 7 at the same time as use an accessory USB however a ' on the go ' cable (OTG). Is there a way that this can be done for HP to know?  I saw claiming for OTG cables feed as well, but such a device would work with the 7 flow? The reason why I want it is because the battery runs out very quickly under certain circumstances.
    7. The version of Windows Media Player on my Stream 7 will maximize not out to a full window (by clicking the button maximizes next to close Red Cross has no effect). In addition it will let me play my MP3 files or my WTV files I had previously recorded on my PC Windows 7 Home Premium Desktop - even if Windows 7 PC version of Windows Media Player should allow the reading of WTV files. I realize that Windows Media Center is not included in Windows 10 but it is important that Windows Media Player which is fully functioning and these two problems are a real problem for me. "The power within HP" talk please with Microsoft for a solution on this one. I realize that Windows Media Player not copng with WTV files can be associated with the absence of Windows Media Center, but I don't see why the relevant CODECs can be installed in Windows Media Player for this feature to work. Any help in doing this would be much appreciated.

That's all I can think of for now. It's time for my sleep of beauty here in England but I'll check here once again in the morning ;-)

This morning, I received the hub surrounded by bubblewrap in a blink of an eye bag and I tested it out (actually I am writing this reply using my Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 keyboard and mouse with the USB dongle connected by the hub as well as the original HP charger and lead). Cyrex experience, isn't that everything works perfectly as advertised for me also. The hub, switch is in position 2 (as has happened) is the position designated for this model of Tablet. Earlier, I was playing files WTV through Windows Media Player to a USB memory stick connected via the hub and which also worked perfectly and the battery charged throughout the.
After my a few hours of testing today I can say deep I think we have a cheap and effective and compatible with this product solution!
With respect to the other items on my list, I'm little bit to find solutions to those as well (although I was not happy to have to install a 3rd party product called GPSDirect in order to get my Bluetooth GPS receiver works with Windows 10 cards). I am convinced that this should be responsible for setting as they were responsible for 'break' this compatibility in OS latest due to the location/sensor API revised Microsofts.
Once I get my new memory stick I will try the new installation of the OS from scratch using an ISO and pilots provided good HP that this will create not a Windows 10 sharing recovery that can be activated at the start with F11 (at least I don't think it will be), as well as from my factory equipped HP USB Windows 8.1 media restoration Bing standby if the disaster occurs I think that this should be a satisfactory solution to this problem. Overall, things are much better, and this forum has been a great help!

  • NOR-DAQmx Base 2.0 and Win Mobile 5

    Hello

Can someone tell me if NEITHER-DAQmx Base 2.0 is compatible with Win Mobile 5 devices?

I try to capture analog voltages and my app very well builds and the charges for the PDA and the PDA does not see the DAQ (6062E) PCMCIA card that I use.

I ran the installer of 'Base' which has copied the Base/s driver file in the PDA (and I have the basic task OK configuration in VI), but the PDA comes up with an error "unrecognized card". I deleted the driver/s of the PDA database and reinstalled them but without success.

Is that all just because the Base 2.0 is not compatible with Win Mobile 5?

Is there a way I can get 2.1 base to work with LV-Pro-8 and PDA - 8 or y at - it another way I can get the drivers on the PDA that handles the card under Win Mobile 5 6062.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Thank you

    Paul.

    Hi James.

    Sorry for my late reply.

The problems are a combination of LV8.0, Base 2.0 and hardware failure.

In the end I went with LV8.6, Base 3.2 and Win mobile 5 with 6024E PCMCIA card or 6062E.

The basic hardware config utility is a bit different and took a little of violin to go. I also found some documents that lead me the wrong path re save for the project or unit basic tasks, but now I understand it's all good.

I don't know if your customer still has problems, but I'm more than happy to help if I can.

Thanks for your help as well.

    Best regards

    Paul.
