  I use NVIDIA 266.58 on my W701. It seems more stable than in previous versions of 2xx.

  Click the button cancel while now the keys Ctrl + Shift. You may need to do this several times before the installation takes place.

  It is difficult to solve the problems of the computer without knowing all the details. You should look at the link I sent you and especially to Firefox is slow - how to make it faster. I don't know any known issue as you describe, it's probably a very good bet for a response.

  Experience NVidia has acted as if the current driver is a Nvidia driver for me.  I've updated the latest driver on their part.  I do not think that Dell made their own video cards, so I don't think it matters.

  Counter question: why you want to use any other display drivers? Are not satisfied with the drivers of Toshiba or can you notice problems in Windows?

  Theoretically, it is possible to use the nVidia drivers directly but don t forget that they are not pre-tested on your laptop. Your graphics card could be overheating and so you lose the warranty.

  Satellite P500 is fairly new, so I guess that Toshiba updates the display driver in next time too. Take a look at the page from time to time. ;)

Preview release is still in heavy development and do not replace a copy of production Windows with it (be it XP, Vista or Windows 7).
