• Capture of variable of presentation in a dash of the text object

  Hi all
  
  I have three requests on a dashboard page and you want to display a common title (the dashboard page name) for this page. As such, I would like to capture, the value of the variable presentation. for example
  
  The dashboard page name - year - @{PV_YEAR} {} - week - @ {{PV_WEEK}}. This will serve as the title of the page dashboard, other than securities of individual request.
  
  I tried key by using the dashboard of text object, but could not find happiness. Is it possible to capture variable presentation in a dash of the text object?
  
  I can capture this variable of presentation for the title of individual applications and display three times on the dashboard page. But as it's the same title, I want to display only once.
  
  Has anyone done any workaround? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  Hi Aniket,

  I'm surprised that with the presentation in an object variable text on a dashboard does not work.
  It works for me...

  But if you can not solve, you can create a separate report with only the columns of the year and the week and filter these columns on the variable of presentation.
  Use only the narrative view, and then delete all the other views.

• Conditional text - copy 'only' the text/object visible in another indesign document

  Is it possible to copy the visible text on the indesign document in another document indesign without having to copy the hidden text and the conditons as well? Or... what I can remove hidden text in new documents in an Exchange with affecting the text visible?

• Distribute the spacing of the text, objects that are in a group does not

  Here's the scenario:

  • create a set of discrete text objects, for example for a web site navigation bar
  • Put them in a group
  • Open the Panel to align objects
  • set the "align on the ' to the 'Selection '.
  • attempt of the distribute spacing (or, in fact, all the Control Panel options align) doesn't seem to work. I have to ungroup the objects first.

  If I choose to align to the artboard, some of the options work.

  It's a ttwii (that's how) or I do something wrong?

  Yes ttwi.

  Align & distribute, aligns and distributes groups, not the items within a group.

  If it was the other way around try to align the Cup/logos/illustrations would create a mess because they are usually groups of several elements.

• FLASH CS4 - tabs of the text object?

  Just learn Flash CS4 and I cannot believe you cannot create or put the tabs in a text object. You can set tabs for editing actionscript, but not in a text object. Are you kidding me? Same wordpad can do that. Please tell me that there are a few keystrokes hidden or something. Why is the text-formatting so hard when you can put things in 3D... I'm puzzled.

• Change the visibility of the text with a button object

  Hey guys,.

  First post, so probably incredibly easy, noobworthy question.

  I'm in the Muse, and the project I created has a page with a 'true' and 'False button. ' When the user clicks on one of these keys, I want to display different responses on the page. First, that aren't visible.

  If I was coding from scratch, I would use a .onclick Javascript to show the 'div' with the appropriate text when the user has clicked on it... Is there a way to do the equivalent in Muse?

  The wizard creates a validation non-zero for the column that was originally not a nullity. Check the validations and delete the entry.

  The text object is defined in a Text.xfo file, on my system, it is under C:\Users\BR001\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Designer\10.0\EN\Objects\Standard.

  You can find the location by looking at the properties of the Group of the library of Standard objects;

  

  You can also create your own widget, set it up on the design finds out how you want and right click then 'add to library' (option has moved, but that's what SS3).  But I don't think you can get your own ones will appear in the drop-down list when you try to convert objects.

• Encompassing sit text object set level with the actual text?

  I noticed a problem (probably I'm not the first) with Illustrator where any attempt to distribute text boxes autour and object, or even vertical relative to the other alignment is not working everything simply because for one of the object bounding boxes two text will be much bigger and wider than the actual text.

  I'm looking at a vector image of a plane in the project I am working on and framework encompassing is at the same level on all sides of the object. But in trying to align a text box with an area of crops, it is quite clearly not align correctly due to the fact that the height of the bounding box is a good half an inch above the text.

  After recently entering in aid of Illustrator (I still have a long way to go...) I was stunned by the number of tools at your disposal, but as someone who is so particular to do alignments and correct measures in a design project (which is not), it drives me crazy. It even makes me not want to continue, because even if I get the alignment as close as I can (manually edit the x and are coordinated to match the object at which I am trying to align does not work because of the size of the bounding box), I still feel like it is not as accurate as it could / should be.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I have an XML file that I've read in a long line of text. I tried to format the string of information with a line break. Have tried to use < br / > and setting the text as htmlText and works except there is an empty line between the sentances. Tried to use the \n and affecting the text object just text, but that brings the \n in the text string.
  
  Any suggestions how to make text coming to have a line break?

  Well guess what? I've just entered my code and added in my XML CDATA, as I had done before but this time it worked! GO figure... Thanks for the suggestion.

• Leave the dialog box change the text display/display

  I have a dialog box that is created with some text objects attached to its buttons. The user can make choices for each one, press OK, and asked of their choice. What I would like is for the buttons to the user in the text, so that they can see it in the context as they decide (that's the only reason why they are buttons; otherwise, they would be static text). I know how to handle this with a palette, but I wonder if there is a way to do it with a dialog box. With the help of a palette for all this seems unfair; I really don't want users to be able to make changes to the document, while the palette is open, and I don't want to change anything in the document until the user clicks OK. It is a dialogue with a palette as oddity, really.

  The problem is that. showText() and setting the activePage throw them the error "Cannot process the request because a modal dialog box or the alert is active." I tried to adjust the dialog box to .the = false or .visible = false, but it has no effect. Is it just impossible? This feature, change the view but not the content, seems to live in a grey zone between the way in which the work of dialog boxes and palettes of way work, so I don't know if I'm just a useless way. Any idea would be appreciated.

  You have no choice: If you want the script to interact with the text that you will need to use a palette.

• How can I make rectangular bubbles that adapt to the text inside them without the "arrow" that points to where the bubble comes to have changed?

  I do a lot of bubbles (150 +) who all text inside of them, which are distinguished by length. I want the balloons to look the same in terms of style, but I need different sizes of course for each of these texts. This means that the rectangular part of the speech bubble must adapt to the length and the width of the text on the inside, while the "arrow" to where the bubble is coming (e.g., the person who speaks) should stay the same on each bubble. So is there a way or a workaround to these bubbles "adaptation"?

  You can do this by using the option of automatic resizing the text block and a separate object (or 2) to the pointer / arrow.

  Create a text block that auto sizes away from the direction of the needle. Make sure that the line on the block of text is aligned to the outside. Draw a pointer with the pen tool and give it the same stroke and fill as the text block.

  Then you must carefully align endpoints of the pointer on the edge of the text block or if you want perfect-looking for joins, have endpoints of the pointer the text block overlap and cover them with another frame, filled with the same color of filling the text block.

  You may need to experiment with the position and the size of this frame obscuring so it becomes visible when the text block is resized. Here is an excerpt, you might be able to use as a starting point. Dropbox - resizing_speechbubble.idms

• Insert a property root data in a text object

  I am writing a script to create a default report with a variable number of pages.

  For this, I use objects DIAdem to create these new pages, but I got stuck trying to correctly configure some textbox.

  I would like to display a property of data root in all the pages, don't forget that pages are created as the script goes.  "In theory", this value is a user input (get via a DlgBox when the script runs) so what I did was to assing the value: Data.Root.Properties ("Report_Number"). The value to the new text object (by using the TXTTXT command).

  By doing this, the new report shows the value (as a simple text, no longer tied to the property) which is fine as long as the user knew this value. But here's the problem, sometimes this value cannot be specified until the last moment so that users may have to change and now it's not that simple to change the value of the property, and then click Refresh. He or she would need to go one by one in order to change this "number".

  I am looking to start a new modeless dialog box or a new buttom that opens/closes all these objects refreshing their text of values but move before I would like to know if there is something easier to keep the link between the value of the property and the text object.

  I think that I thought about it!

  You simply send the property textbox as variable instead of just under form of text. Here is an example

  TXTTXT = "@Data.Root.Properties(""Report_Number"")." "Value".

  You can see that I added the @ on each end of the property and also quote the string so that the script he interpret correctly. I also had to quote the string Report_Number so that the VB script would interpret it correctly.

  Give that a try and let me know how it goes - I think it should work fine for you. After you run the script, I can change the property and then refresh the report and see the updated value.

  I managed to change the position of the cursor in a TextArea as qml and C++ to help through the Publisher associated with the drop-down list.

  I checked the change to receive cursor, change of position and position again.

  However, the cursor does not appear or is not visible in the TextArea component. When I tap on the screen the cursor is displayed again.
