  We have a multitude of scheduled tasks.  When moving from one server to another, we currently re-enter manually the tasks.  There are problems which the least is my strike capability.  The tasks are saved in a XML or any other file type that I could just copy from one server to the other instead of re-entering?

• Computer scientists moved us from one server to another. The change of server name has left me with an orphan sync partnership.

  Our it staff moved us from one server to another.  Although I did a sync with all my spotted "available offline" files before the move, the change of server name left me with an orphan sync partnership.  Is anyway to disconnect this partnership?  I have not been able to find a way.  Thank you.

  VirtualCenter Server 2.5 build 174768 has it's SQL database on another server.  We're going to retire that SQL server only and move just the DB to a new SQL Server - current vCenter server will not be affected.

  Once the migration has been successful, you must update your users using the UpdateUsers.cmd (UpdateUsers.cmd and PlanningUserName PlanningUserPassword TARGET_APP).

  If you move the range of data to load into the different cube, then you can use report script or calc extrcat data and can use the rule files to load the data.
  If you move the data to load into a cube replicated in another environment, you can take the lev0 data and can do the free form of loading.

  One of the options I can think of is creating mount points on the boxes of unix and then using the File adapter.

• Trying to copy a virtual machine from one server to another

  Hi all

  I'm new to ESXi 4, although I used VMWare Workstation for years.  I am trying to copy a virtual machine from a Windows system (Sysprep) from one host to another.  The two hosts are identical systems with the exact same ESXi host configuration.  Same hw, same version of ESXi, same setup, same size of the partition.

  When I use the Vsphere data store browse to 'download' the vmdk and vmx files to a local drive (Windows Server 2003), I get the following 3 files: the same vmx file, a tiny vmdk file and a file huge filename - flat hard.  The file vmdk on browser to store data from the source host is about 23 GB.  The flat on the local system vmdk file is almost 63 GB.

  Can I reopen Vsphere on the destination server and "load" the 3 files in a directory that I created in the data store.  Once there, I use the browser "Add to inventory."  When I try to turn on the virtual machine, I get the error message "not enough space on the data store."

  Any ideas of what I could have done wrong?  Again the data store configuration is identical:

  Local disk to VMware: 62.95 GB, Total formatted capacity: 62,75 GB.  1 VMFS 3.33 MB block size it's the only VM on the system.

  What you see is by design.

  When you try to copy a disc loaded end service, with the browser data store or FastSCP, the virtual disk will be inflated. Use the converter such as recommended by AlbertWT.

  Since the virtual disks of destination must already 60 GB of disk space you may not able to power on the virtual machine, because there is not enough disk space for the swap file, which is the size of the configured RAM (less reserve, if necessary).

  We are in 11.1.1.3. I had the planning repository copied from one server (server1) to another (Server2). had also shared services and copied the server 1 Server 2 EAS repository. When I opened the planning in Server 2, I see the name of the planning application in 1 server, and data source connection also shows the connection to server 1. How can I fix to point to Server 2?   You just cannot change the application like this name. If you need to change the application name, you need to do before the migration.

  Let's say your app source is S and target is owners of T. Application for S and T MUST be the same (use external if possible user)

  1. create the application T
  2. database of report copy of S to T
  3 copy of database Essbase, S to T
  4. connect to T and ensure that its pointing to the correct instance of shared services

  This will ensure that the application has been upsized excluding security and business rules. It was the old way to do this. You should use LCM in v11. It can be kind of weird if you have duplicates of names (for example, the list of tasks, web forms), but it does not work. We used LCM to migrate the application with success and its very easy to use.

  You need not select from USER_SOURCE. Going to do a simple select DOUBLE.

• Hyperion reports (.as files) the passage from one server to another?

  I try to import a report Hyperion (.as file) from one server to a new server. Import works but when I try to run the report from the new server, workspace said "unable to process request". If I try and open the report from the client, it tells me "error connecting to the server?

  Check your database connection in the new server.
