  Try this:

  In the run box type: regedit, click OK
  Navigate to:

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  \SOFTWARE
  \Microsoft
  \Windows
  \CurrentVersion
  \Explorer
  \TrayNotify

  Right-click on icon stream, click on remove, restart your computer.
  The icon stream all will return.
  This works on most of the configurations.
  You may need to do a few times.

• Problems with fluctuating volume of Windows Media Player

  After that I transferred MP3/WAV files to my old laptop which has Vista... for my new laptop which has Windows 7, my windows media player then started acting crazy during playback of music files.  The volume goes up and down, and during parties strong songs, it goes almost silent... with a few songs, it becomes just as hard very quickly and then just cut all together.  I tried tools audio fix from microsoft, and they were unable to help him.  Basically, it sounds like when you listen to music, and you would simply continue to cupping your ears again and again, as you can imagine is really annoying while you try to listen to music

  Try the following steps, presented by another poster, JoeyNice:

  6 steps that have helped me with this problem:

  (After looking at a few ideas from there I went and did my own investigation and arrested next steps the boring windows media player playback sound fluctuations)

  (1.) start the media player and go into menu improvements in media player andreset all default media player improvements and disable all improvements and equalizer, etc...

  (2.) do right click the speaker volume icon (located in the lower right corner of windows in the area of programs/notification bar) then andclick 'sounds' in the right click menu (or if "speaker" icon is not in the notification bar go to control panel and click on 'sounds')

  (3.) in the sounds of communications click menu tab and select 'status quo '.
  
  4.) , while on the sounds tab menu click play, and then click speakers allowing you to then click on properties
  
  5.) in the sounds-> speakers menu properties go to improvements and select 'Disable all sound effects'

  6.) while in the sounds-> speakers menu properties go to the Advanced tab and "restore default settings" , then click on apply and then OK and then apply and ok again and the sound menu

  These steps allowed me to be able to go to windows media player and listen to music with no fluctations (and you can now be able to turn on the equalizer again if you want to make adjustments, but if this causes the fluctuation back just turn Equalizer back off.) I could turn it back on after you follow the steps above with no fluctuation)

  -Were you able to hear the audio without any problems in Media Player?
  -What version of Media Player do you use?
   
  Try these methods and see which one of them helps to fix the problem.
   
  Method 1: Make sure that the equalizer is balanced
   
  If the equalizer is rejected, you may experience sound related problems.
   
  To check this setting:
   
  a. click view, improvements, graphic equalizer. Once the graphic equalizer is displayed, make sure that all settings are at least halfway.
   
  Method 2: Check the settings of the sound
   
  Verify that your settings are correct. When other software programs, it is possible for bad programs adjust settings audio, causing problems with your sound.
   
  Method 3: Update Windows Media Player
   
  Try to update the media player to another version and check if it helps.

  Here are the steps that you must follow to adjust the volume by QML programming:

  (1) define a signal myVolumeChanged to the main control QML

  (2) define a slot that handles the signal preceding once it is triggered by the volume control of the MediaPlayer with the new volume

  (3) fire this signal into the slots of the buttons onClicked two volume

  I tried the above using the nowplaying waterfalls sample app and were able to achieve what you're trying to do, which is affecting the volume of the MediaPlayer using two buttons volume QML. Here's the code I added in the file main.qml from the sample application for your reference:

  Blacklion, looks like you are using a toolbar that alerts you when you have a new email. Please consider reinstalling the toolbar to deliver notifications. Or if it's for a specific site, check the notifications for the site permissions:

  Right-click on the page and click on 'View Page Info' in the opening menu. This opens a window with a "Permissions" tab I have this, scroll down to everything down until you see "View Notifications" that entry from the third to the last. Restore the default value, either just select "Block".

  apparently not 'completely '. You must uninstall CleanMyMac. It will make you no end of problems.

• Volume control of Media Center during commercials?

  I was wondering if anyone knows of an add-on or another way to modify WMC to control the volume high on the ads? More, it seems that look that a show at normal volume leads to deafening audio during commercials and having to manually to the up/down volume not to disturb others.

  I know that the law "CALM" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CALM_Act) has passed Congress but is not set to go into effect for several months yet. Even then, I understand that cable/satellite operators bear the burden of Management volume - which could leave those of us who use OTA/over-the-air broadcasts and a separate DVR such as WMC, needing another solution?

  While I use a receiver that has a mode "midnight" to normalize the volume, I would like that only outside broadcasts, as the legislation proposes to do.

  If you do not have this checked, you cannot attach a battery to a system that is not on the field.  While ym have connected to your Active directory and attempt to attach a battery without this checked it will not work if you have a virtual machine.  At least that's my understanding of it through tests.

  Open Windows Media Player > play a piece of music > it reduce in the taskbar.
  Right-click on your Volume icon in the taskbar (bottom right of the taskbar) > click Open Volume Mixer > see Media Player among others? > move the cursor upwards or downwards, the desired volume level > out the Volume mixer
