How can I get rid of this irritating pop-up message whenever outlook is open?
Without knowing what are certificate errors, it is a shot-in-the-dark.
80 90% of certificate in Windows XP errors can be attributed to one of the following two issues:
- Time Date, time, time zone, or light of day on your computer is/is not set correctly. The time on your machine should be within 5 minutes of real time for certificates authenticate properly. Right-click on your taskbar clock, and select time settings to check the correct time. Synchronize time via Internet can solve this problem.
- Windows XP does a poor job of keeping its root certificates (certificates by which all other certificates are considered) up-to-date. The newer versions of Windows did a much better job. It certainly wouldn't hurt to update your root certificates and in many cases, this is all you need. For update, visit the following article:
"Members of the certificate program root Windows.
Then go down to the subsection titled "root Update Package (for Windows XP only). Then click on the option "update for root certificates for Windows XP... "the link. This will take you to the last downloadable update. Download the package on your computer and double-click it to update your certificates
One of the above should solve your problem.

I have a problem of access to the Outlook account and other pages because appears "certificate error" what's happened with these certificates? Help please.
There are two main reasons for the mistakes of certificate:
- Your computer's time is not set correctly. Check your time year/month/day/hour/minute/timezone/light of day. Right-click on the clock in your taskbar and select "set Date/time" and make sure you are ready approximately 5 minutes of real time (don't forget time zone and DST).
- The second reason is that Windows XP is not very good for updating root certificates. Go to the following site:
and go down to the section:
'Update Package root (designed for Windows XP only)'
There is a link, you can use to download a update for your root certificates package. Download this package and double-click it to update.

When I type in an address to search I get certificate error. When I had the page I was for you are looking for and click on it I got it again one a forft then it keeps just happing. I try to reformat a happys yet. I change nic card to try it. So if you can help I would be appreciated
Joel referenced article only applies to Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008. As you send messages in a Windows XP forum, I have to assume you have Windows XP.
There are two things you should try:
(1) make sure that the date and time of your computer are correct in about 5 minutes or less. Make sure that you have selected the appropriate time zone and DST (as appropriate) as well.
(2) your root certificates may need to be updated. Errors of this kind can be caused by old or expired certificates root on your computer. To update your root certificates, see the following article:
"Members of the certificate program root Windows.
<>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/931125 >Find the paragraph titled "Root Update Package (intended for Windows XP only)" and download the package to update the certificate from the link provided and run it. Restart your computer.

When I try to access AKO army knowledge online (www.us.army.mil), I get the certificate error every time. Not only I got one when I first on the site, but also when I try to access my mail from the army and other features of the site. I checked the settings of date and time, and they are all correct. Also, the certification is valid until 2012. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows keep stop updates of certificate errors. How should I do?
I can't update Windows Vista. I can not down load security software. I can't display a page about half the time without certificate errors.
What should I do to fix this?
Hello
Run the sfc/scannow command.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions
If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation
read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation

and make sure that your computer is malware free
an anti-virus can not find any problems
you need to scan with a good anti-malware program
Download update and scan with the free malwarebytes anti-malware version
