• WAG320N USB

  I recently bought a WAG320N, mainly for faster networking speeds and the ability to attach a USB hard drive to my network.

  The only problem is that I have little idea how to get this network storage thing to work. Cisco did not really provide documentation on how to work it.

  So far I have connected a HDD and formatted through the interface on the Internet router, without any problems at all.

  But, after doing that I have no idea how to access my hard drive on the network.

  I guess it will automatically appear on my network for me to have free access.

  Did I miss something? I must also stress that I am on a Mac only at home, without a PC.

  Hello again, well managed to talk briefly on the live chat on the Cisco support page.

  Finally got the answer to my problem, even if it's not as obvious as it seems at first.

  These instructions are for Mac users.

  I'll go through the basics:

  -Take your stick of hard/USB drive and plug it.

  -Connect to the address of the router in your browser 192.168.1.1

  -Follow-up of your user and password. (Click on should add to keychain to make life easier)

  -Then click the storage tab.

  -Format your drive to the exact size of the drive. (I find tedious partitions if I leave it just like a single segment, we Mac users are accustomed to him.)

  Example:

  Once the disc was picked up by the router, click on the format button.

  The router said that size of the drive is 57 216 MB, so I copy that number in the text box of partition 1, check the partition 1. The hit 'apply '.

  This bit should not take long.

  Stepping in the name of the hard disk after formatting, you will need later.

  -At this point, the router should of done more tedious bits.

  -Under the storage tab there should be a little administration, click that.

  -To the button of the page must be a Section of the user management.

"scruffydoo", name and surname so implemented. Then add a different password than my computer for security reasons. (You can do cela for all Macs on your network.)

  -In the finder, click the menu drop-down "go".

  -Then select 'Connect to server' or press command-K

  -Under "server address", type "smb://192.168.1.1/". Then add the name of the hard drive gave him this router. You can find it on the tab of the shared folder storage.

  -If the resulting address would look like this "smb://192.168.1.1/HDD_1_1/".

  -Click on the '+' to save for later, then click 'connect '.

  From here you can start adding bits to the address.

  I never liked see the HDD_1_1 name in the finder, so I added a folder on the drive, as 'Storage', then in the 'Connect to server' address bit typed in "smb://192.168.1.1/HDD_1_1/Storage".

• Question about the issue of the Double NAT...

  Hah I posted for a little.  I have a question about Double NAT.  Is it wise to launch?  Reason why is that I have a WRT54G v6 router and the Zoom ADSL X 4 Modem/Router/gateway and it seems that sites take just a little more time to respond to Web sites.  I just want to know I have to turn off (i.e., go in with my router bridge Mode) or what.  Or leave it alone.  Now one last thing: that the problem of slow could actually be AT & T but I have the feeling that this isn't.

  What configuration options you have on the Zyxel to fill? What have you tried exactly?

  The basis for the first option is:

  * Bridged Zyxel.

  * Linksys configured for PPPoE with your user name and password for the internet connection.

  Instructions to fill the Zyxel are here or here depending on the exact model of Zyxel.

  The second option is:

  * Zyxel doing business as the router. I assume here that the Zyxel is on 10.0.0.2 with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

  Unplug the Linksys to the Zyxel. Connect a computer to the Linksys. Open the web interface of the WRT to http://192.168.1.1/

  On the main Setup page:

  1. change the LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 address 10.0.0.1.

  2 disable the DHCP server.

  3. save the settings. You will lose the connection. Unplug the computer.

  4. wire one of the numbered LAN ports of the Linksys for the Zyxel. Do not use the internet port of Linksys!

  Now you should be able to open the Linksys web interface to http://10.0.0.1/ all devices connected wireless of Linksys or connected to one of the three LAN ports must have a connection to the internet via the Zyxel.

  # This is not possible. In fact you should not even able to access the USB on the WAG. The WAG in Bridge mode is basically a modem and it should be not accessible by any IP address... I would suggest that you configure the WAG as a router and the WRT as access point...

  I have a problem with all the PPPoe on my network with DMVPN spoker. The problem is the stability of the DMVPN tunnel. All the spoker with PPPoe, I have a problem.

  I don't know what is the right recipe in this case, when I have several spoker PPPoe not all with the hub? Do I have to create another DMVPN just for spoker PPPoe? If Yes, what is the parameter I need to do for PPPoe with DMVPN. Do I have to adjust the mtu on the tunnel port? Time place, hub and spoker? Etc...

  Because if I use GRE with VPN over a distance where PPPoe is installed, I have more a problem. For the code and maintenance simplicity, I prefer to use DMVPN for sure. So, if it is possible to set it up, it will be nice.

  MTU must be set on the interface of tunnel for the hubs and spockes.

  If you want to save bits, you can even use transport mode instead of tunnel of fashion.

  Hi all

  I've been struggling with little space HARD drive for a while now, so a few months ago I decided to finally begin to organize and sort my photos correctly, eliminating the double, bad pictures, etc.

  I released a certain GB (7 or 8) yesterday, so I was very shocked when I received the message "you do not have enough space" this morning. I went to check if the library had reduced in size and I noticed that I have not one, but two libraries: iPhoto Library and photo library. The former has not changed in size (always around 100 GB), but the latter has (it is now 93BG). I suspect the two libraries are the same, except that I was changing the photo library only since I installed El Capitan in March.

  Can I safely delete the iPhoto library or I'll lose the 'event' files I used from there? I can still see the pictures in a separate folder, so I'm not sure that they have been transferred to the new library correctly...

  What do you suggest me?

  I understand that you see two different libraries and fear that it may take more space than necessary. In fact, I came across something similar when I tried to clean my internal drive.

  An excellent article explaining how to operate the two libraries is Photos saves disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture Libraries.
  He explains how the two libraries will only use no extra space.

• Find the percentage of double pairs false in five two sets of columns

  The situation is that I have four sets of two related columns, and these four sets are repeated during 17 sheets. They are all checkboxes (essentially and or or), and I've already configured to do a little when one of them is checked.

  What I want to understand, is if it is possible to indicate the percentage of a pair of two time column to be false. I want to compare, over time (represented by worksheets), how each pair of column.

  As I installed Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac on my MacBook Pro, there are a lot of files that I can not open more using double click. I tried to change the double-click settings in the preferences panel, and by assigning a specific application for opening each type of problematic file using the button 'Open with' in the information panel, nothing happens.

  I also tried to restart the computer, and I fixed the permissions of the main HARD drive. None of this has worked.

  What is curious, it's only by double-clicking on a file actually seems to start the application. The application icon bounces for a while, as if she was trying to open.
