Web links in emails (with Outlook Express 6) no longer works since the 13.0.1 update.
Use Firefox for yonks (with XP-pro-SP3).
After all at the final hour updated to 13.0.1, when I click on a link in an e-mail (for which I use Outlook Express), nothing happens. (I have already many pages open Firefox, I tend to not to close their.) Can only open the link by copying and then open a new Firefox window from scratch.
Thanks that fixed. For any reason (or no) FF had ceased to be set as default browser, in fact, somehow it seems there is no default browser!
Thanks again for your quick and easy solution!

When I send an email on Outlook Express, he won't out of the box shipping, but continues to send once a minute until I remove in the Outbox.
You have apparent dbx file corruption.
Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.
With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them. New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.
After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.
Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.
General precautions for Outlook Express:
Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Compact often as specified above.

In OE go to file | Identities and setup a new identity. Then add your email account and see if it works very well. If so, then go to file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity. Also make sure you have the right settings for the e-mail account: http://optus.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/65/kw/email%20settings/session/L3RpbWUvMTM2NDkwNDk3Ny9zaWQvbkExNWRJbWw%3D

My system is XP Microsoft w/Internet Explorer 7. My online service is through netzero. I started having problems several weeks ago about my Outlook Express. In the last whe I send a file, he crossed for recipients and also would go directly to my sent folder. Now adays, occasionally, the info is sent to recipients but does not go to my sent folder and the express pointed out a mistake and put my email in the Outbox. I have to move it to project from the Outbox folder or the system keeps trying to return. He goes to the recipients, but not in my sent folder. What's wrong?

I can receive email with outlook express, but am not able to send e-mail
I can receive e-mail using Outlook Express but am not able to send. My email is a live.com... Here's an error message that I keep getting...
. The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. E-mail address of the sender was * address email is removed from the privacy *'. Here's another... Your server suddenly put an end to the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop3.live.com', server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, error number: 0x800CCC0F. Can you walk me through how to fix this? Thank you

Create a new Folders.dbx.
The path to the message will be very similar to this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express
With OE closed, find the Folders.dbx file and delete it. A new one will be created when you open OE.

How can I block message recipients to see the list of multiple recipients on the email sent with outlook express 6.0?
Put the recipients in the BCC (blind carbon copy) field instead of the Cc field. If you don't see the BCC field and then in your new message go to view > all headers.
