Western Sydney Mac support

Hello

I am currently trying to get my MOM to upgrade his iMac 10.6.8 at latest.  However, specifications she had hard disk means that its system is not able to put the new software.

The problem is that she went to the shop Mac of Penrith and they advised him to take his mac to the XYZ dealer and they were encouraging to just buy a new mac or go PC.  I had bought my Mac at the same time and managed to upgrade the hard drive and memory when I asked for the upgrade of the software (which I couldn't do at home because I had internet speeds of 256 kb on a good day).  But, I live in Brisbane and Mac1 Brisbane, had performed the upgrade for me for the cost of new equipment and work for an hour, even if I had to leave at night.  One of my friends in Rockhampton had the same thing with his old iBook AMG.

I was hoping to get my mom a similar case.  Mac1 in Sydney focuses on education and training of personnel.

It would be really appreciated if someone suggest a reasonable place for my mom be able to upgrade to Sydney (Penrith region)?

What year/model is your Mac? Here are the requirements for El Capitan:

https://www.Apple.com/OSX/how-to-upgrade/

Please note that the 2 GB of RAM mentioned is really not sufficient - a minimumof 4 GB is recommended. And the upgrade has nothing to do with the hard drive - it has to do with all the technical characteristics of the material. Also note that an older machine with a processor board and slower graphics card will not bring fast performance with the latest OS.

  • On this Mac Support links not available

    Hello...

When I click on the about this Mac > Service then click on Help Mac, operating instructions, report of OS X, etc., nothing happens. It would be great if it worked for all suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you!

    I have two main points:

    • You said that you have clicked on "about this Mac > Service.  Actually, I think that you have clicked on "about this Mac > Support»  Service seems to show the different options.
    • When I click on "about this Mac > Support" and get to the screen that you view, I can then click on 'Mac Help.  But what is opening a new Safari window displays this:

    • Similarly, by clicking on "User manual" opens a new tab (as opposed to a new window) in Safari.

    Ivrey,

I've never heard of it. If you have received the notice via a pop up, it's a SCAM.

    Hello..

If I click on to about this Mac > then click the Support tab, and then click Manual, user manuall window opens but no amount of command + or by clicking on the magnifying glass icon allows so you can actually read the text. I also tried a different resolution. That did not help either.

It would be nice read the manual that help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Carolyn,

This is the page that opens when I followed the path you specified: Apple - Support - manuals

I noticed that the MacBook Air is not located on this page, but it's not surprising, given that I have an iMac, retina 5K. By clicking on the link to search field and enter the MacBook Air would be useful for your MacBook Air look happy.

Since yesterday, I get weird messages on my computer - messages saying "the previous site infected your computer. Click here for an analysis. "Then I started to receive messages from Apple/Mac, asking me to call a telephone number: 1-866-405-2214.  Is - this legitimate or a scam? Thank you.

It's a scam. Do not meet these messages.

We have no idea. You don't not said us what model/year-computer you have. If I had to guess I have told your Mac does not support Boot Camp.

  • Update an old Mac

    I am currently using:

    • An iMac (21.5 inch, late 2009)

    • Running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6.

This Mac was unused for years in one of the offices in my Police Department. Although he is seven years old, he surpasses new PC with my colleagues. I want to upgrade the memory on the Mac, but I'm not sure how much he could handle.

I am currently assigned as training coordinator for the police force of 140 agents.  If the follow-up of training and other documents have been overwhelming both.  With the help of some applications more or less cheap (Hazel, DevonThink Pro, etc.) for the first time in nearly three years, I can finally take a vacation with my family and you worry home to a nightmare.  As I learn and become more comfortable with the Apple platform, I find myself with more app that causes the computer to run slowly.

Is it possible to remove the two, cards memory 2 GB (4 GB matching)?  And install four 4 GB memory cards separated (equalling 16 concerts.) This old Mac support this amount of memory?  If so do you have recommendations where I could buy it?

I was told also to look on a card SSD, again once I don't know what size should I buy for this machine.  Any help is welcome.

    Thank you

  • Sync iPhone calendar, contacts, notes with Outlook on Mac?

I have an iPhone 6 s running iOS 9.3.1 I want to synchronize locally with Outlook for Mac 2011 (calendars, contacts, notes) that I don't want my information hosted in "the cloud."  I know that this synchronization option has been removed from iTunes (I currently have 12.3.3.17).  Is it possible to do this with the latest version of OS X Server?

iTunes does not synchronize Outlook more.

OS X Server has mail, calendar and Contacts integrated servers. The protocols supported by the Apple server software are respectively - IMAP, CalDav and CardDav. These protocols, all three are supported by Apple Mail, all three are supported by iOS i.e. iPhones but Outlook for same Mac 2016 Outlook does support IMAP, i.e., it only supports CalDav or Mac OS x Server.

Therefore, the answer would be no.

If you had a 'real' Microsoft Exchange Server, then the answer would be Yes, and if you rather Kerio Connect running on a Mac then the answer is also Yes. This is because both a 'real' Microsoft Exchange and Kerio Connect Server supports Exchange ActiveSync aka. EA is that using the iPhone, which also supports the Exchange Web Services aka. Server Web integrated is that Outlook for Mac support. (Version 2011 and 2016).
