WET54G

Hi, I have an old router 4 ports (pre-configured operator ISDN) without wireless interface. Is it possible to have 2 wet54g communicate together?

router <->wet54g wet54g <~~~> <->4-port hub ethernet<->computers

And if yes how to set up?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Rather than use WET54G, you can go with 2 WAP54G... See this

  • PSU WET54G

I just received a WET54G - but not electric power.  I have a power supply of 12V 1A, but I need to know the polarity of the connection.  Either the code pin + ve - ve.  Thank you

Thanks for the reply, but not quite the answer I was looking for.  I gritted my teeth today and did a test (I might be only 50% of evil in the worst case), I got lucky, "Murphey" must have been on vacation.

The PIN is + 12 v with respect to the sheath to 0V

  • Help with Wet54G and printer!

    Hello

I bought a wet54g because I was told that I could get to my needs.

That's basically what I want to do: I have a brother mfc 620cn (printer) I want to do wireless, so all the pc's on the network can use.

I have a wireless routher a WRT54GS providing wired and wireless internetshare customers.

That's what I think I do: connect the wet54g network (I'm not sure how well) and configure the device via. the installation program and then connect it to the LAN of the printer and it should work.

But the installation fails, it said that it cannont find a wwireless ethernet bridge on my network, so im currently lost.

    Any help will be appreciated.

WET54G will not work with your printer, it is used to extend your network. To make your printer on all computers wired / wireless, you must go to a (WPSM54G) wireless print server that will solve your need.

  • Router WRT54GS WET54G bridge question, the bridge to connect to a wired router?

    Hi all

I have a wireless - g LAN using a WRT54GS router.  The existing wireless devices on the local network are 2 PCs, a TiVo unit (using the TiVo wireless adapter) and 2 WET54G Wireless bridges.  A bridge connects ethernet wired to a network printer.  The other bridge connects by ethernet cable to a reader Blu - Ray Sony BDP-S550.

Security is WPA2-AES.  so far this works well, believe it or not, but I grew a lot older, making it happen.

Now, here's what I would do: I would like to add another device LAN cable where the second bridge WET54G connects to the Blu - Ray player.  The bridge has only an ethernet cable connection, so I have to find another way to get the two devices connected to the wireless LAN.

I have two other devices LinkSys, kicking around here that I can use.  One is a BEFSR41 wired router.  The other is a WAP54G Wireless Access Point.   If I can use one or two of those who in some way, I won't have to buy another camera.  It is the order of the day so far.

Right now it looks like this:

Router WRT54GS wireless wire WET54G bridge entry WAN router BEFSR41 son to two LAN devices.

I have problems performing this work, assuming that it can still be done.  Can I get this config to work, or what I need to add the Access Point where the bridge is now, or...?

    Thanks for your time,

    Big Al Mintaka

You already have a network working with your existing devices. What you're trying to include in your network is possible and can be done. Rather than plug the cable of the WET54G to the WAN port on the router, connect the cable to the router's LAN port. Disable DHCP and change the LAN ip address in the range of your existing network. It should work.

  • WRT /WET bypass

I just spent $40 and more than an hour on the phone with the Spt technology and still have nothing to do, I need help!

I'm setting up an Ethernet bridge between a WRT54G connected to a counter top and a WET54G connected to a Sony Blu Ray Player BDP-S550.  The office is currently connected to a laptop and a WII via the router wireless.  These two devices are well-developed.

How to set up the page for the Blu - ray player will allow you to use a static IP address or a DHCP connection. In every situation, I am required to enter the information, I have NO idea where to acquire. Logic tells me that the IP address, subnet mask and gateway wanted would be from the WRT54G connected to the desktop computer.  I've had no luck than that.

The WRT is currently set for the DHCP automatic configuration, the IP 71.199.76.243, mask 255.255.248.0, 71.199,72,1 default gateway

The WET54G is currently set at IP address 192.168.1.226 255.255.255.0, gateway 0.0.0.0 subnet mask

Linksys technical support those put in place at a distance and said they communicated with each other (WET connected to my laptop and was crazy).

The Blu ray overview page also has this quirk to 3 numbers entered for these addresses. some of them have only 1 or 2 digits.  An address like 71.199.72.1 should be entered as 071.199.072.001.

Logic tells me that it should not be difficult to set up this connection.  But it seems that I need help step by step to find the right numbers to enter this set to the top of page.

    Yes.  192.168.1.1 = 192.168.001.001

I guess the "local IP address" of your WRT54G is 192.168.1.1, and that your 'DHCP server' range is always the default of 192.168.1.100 by 192.168.1.149 - is that correct?

If so, the best way to solve this problem would be to the two devices fixed LAN IP addresses.  Note that the fixed LAN IP addresses should be outside the range of the DHCP server and they can not end in 0, 1 and 255.

The value WET54G 192.168.1.226 with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1 DNS server and default 192.168.1.1.

Blu - ray 192.168.001.227, with 255.255.255.000 value the subnet mask and Gateway default 192.168.001.001 and DNS server for 192.168.001.001

It is possible that the Blu - ray is perhaps not able to work with the DNS proxy server located at 192.168.001.001.   In this case, the connection to the router and go to the "status" tab (when the router is connected to the Internet) and find your true Internet DNS server address.  Then set the Blu - ray on your true Internet DNS server address.

In addition, the WRT54G and WET54G must be on the same SSID (don't use "linksys"), method of encryption (if any) and the password (if any).

  • How to enter a wireless signal and convert Ethernet cable?

I'm totally bafled by the nomenclature of wireless gadgets and would appreciate help. I already have a wireless router that allows my laptop work anywhere in my house. My need is to recover the wireless signal and somehow get this signal into an Ethernet cable.

The reason is that my DVR (Replay TV) connects to Internet via Ethernet (not USB) cable and I want to move to a place where it would be impractical to try the new wiring through the walls.

    Thank you!

You need a "wireless ethernet bridge", like the WET54G, WET200 or WET610N.  Once you set up the device, just wire your DVR to it.

  • behind the bridge router will not connect.

Im trying to set up my network like this, Modem > ROUTER1 > bridge > ROUTER2 > PC

Both routers are WRT110 and the bridge is a WET54g.

I can access the internet if I plug the power cable directly into my PC from the bridge, but when I plug it into the router it does not connect to the internet. my pc can also connect to ROUTER2 without problem but can not get internet.

This could be established with only 2 devices... WRT110 router and bridge WET200... WET200 bridge has five ports to connect safely separate wired networks...

With your existing equipment, cela -.

Connect the second router Internet Port WET54G and access your router installation... Change the router LAN IP address 10.10.10.1 and click on save settings... Turn off the router for a minute and turn it back on... You should be able to connect your computers wired to your router's ethernet ports, and they need to connect on internet...

  • WAP54G change IP

I have insalled a bridge (WET54G) and an access point (WAP54G) in a remote location, about 200 yards from the router (WRT54G), the bridge is attached to a directional high gain (15db-30deg distributed) Hawkins. The system works very well for a few hours or as long as there is activity within the connection on the side of the AP. After sitting idle for a few hours the AP assigns new IP addresses (such as 169.254.128.34) and I get little or no connectivity to the remote location. I can turn off the AP for a few seconds, power up and select Repair and it works very well 'again. "

There are 2 computers to the trapdoor, connected wireless and 3 wireless connected to the router and my BlackBerry to two points. I have no hard cables in each position except for the installation of computers. The system is configured as an infrastructure.

Any suggestion why it is reasigning or wht/do try?

In my view, that there is some confusion here.

OU said that the AP assigns to the new IP 169.254.128.34 and your while end up with little or no connection.

The 169.254.128.34 is a windowz default IP address that is assigned to a customer when the customer does not receive a response from the DHCP server.

Apart from that, can not change the WAP54G is not IP randomly without human intervention.

In my view, that the question is one of the integrity of the connection. You will need to determine where the link is a failure between the client and the WAP54G or between the WAP54G and the WRT54G.

The WAP54G c a study on site to check the level of the signal. While this is not final, we found that the signals below 50% in Mixed Mode / G seen fail easily. In mode B, this phenomenon seems to be more common below 20%.

Also check the security used, they must match. You will also notice that you cannot use WPA in Bridge/Repeater mode. Also check the integrity of the pass phrase be used, there are characters (punctuation, special characters and spaces) that will allow the connection fails immediately or after a period of use. Most immediately, there is also a requirement of the length.

Also check the SSID, they should be the same. We discovered that if there is another device with the same SSID with the proximity of the bridge then the Red device will interfere with the bridge causing it to fail.

Securing your bridge is limited, we suggest disabling SSID boadcast. While this is NOT a security measure it masks the presence of your network.

  • 802.11n bridge?

I recently bought the WRT310N wireless router and some WPC300N PC card for my laptop. Now, I have a blu - ray player, I want to connect to my network Wireless N as well, but there only an ethernet cable. So basically I'm looking for a N wireless network bridge, as does the WET54G to 802. 11 g. Does something like this exist? Linksys will do something like a bridge of WETxxxN?

All the info is much appreciated!

    See you soon,.

    Bottom

Linksys do not have a Wireless-N ethernet bridge... If you have router WRT310N, you can always use WET54G...

  • The question of the Access Point wireless router

I am considered to be an amateur when there are routers so patient with me. I have a wireless router in my office and two workstations are hardlined (ethernet cable-joint) to the router. Then, in the living room, I have 3 devices (Xbox, BlueRay, directTV) I want on the network. Rather than running three office ethernet cables, I expect to have some sort of (reverse hotspot) where a device could hop on the wireless router and the signal I inflexible at these three devices. Not sure if this would require an Access Point or another wireless router?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I suggest that you try to find something on WET54GS5... is a bridge with 5 ports wireless if I'm not mistaken... but since it's under Cisco Small Business, I suggest you could ask more about it here

    Cisco Small Business support community

Or you can see WET54G and buy a separate so you switch can accommodate other devices

  • Using a WRT54G2 as a wireless bridge

I currently have a WRT54GL which works perfectly for years and now I want to create a wireless bridge to my home entertainment section.  I want to connect 2 or 3 devices and so I'm not looking at the WET54G for my solution.

However, it is possible to use the snazzy WRT54G2 - watch as a bridge?  The built-in DHCP server complicate things, or can it simply be disabled?  Are there other technical issues which would prevent or complicate a facility like that?

Thanks for any help or advice you can offer me

You can disable the DHCP on wrt54g2, but you can't use it the way you need, you will connect wrt54g2 to the wrt54gl router by an ethernet cable... In your set, you can't do wrt54g2 communicate wirelessly to wrt54gl...

  • Set of AP as a customer

    Hi all,

    Can I put an AP (series 1200 1300 o) as a customer?

My problem is that I need to connect a camera video network to a WLAN but I can't set it up as a bridge. So I request then I associate as a customer of WLAN access point and then connect to the EPF of AP the netcamera?

Linksys do with WET54G, but is linksys I use Cisco!

    Thank you very much.

    Augusto

You must configure the AP as WGB or universal WGB. This will allow the PA to associate with the network and have a customer on the ethernet.
