What are the files should not be checked into Source code control?

Good afternoon.

11 of RoboHelp, integrated with Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio 2010 running.

When two colleagues recently "received" the latest files from Source code control project, they also got the elements that have been removed or deleted. For example, I had deleted all the tags of conditional compilation of my project, but their version included always build tags. Finally, thanks in part to an old post from Peter Grainge, we realized that the PSS in Source code control contains a lot of this old information. We have removed the PSS and order check into Source control. Problem solved. No conditional build tags or unwanted Source unique Layouts, etc. (I think the PSS got archived by our release engineer when he was trying to solve another problem. There are two years it has been not been archived.)

I vaguely remember something read somewhere once in checking is not some files in RoboHelp project in source control management. So far, I have not found such information in RoboHelp help or online.

Anyone know where I can find a list of RoboHelp HTML project management files, such as the PSS file, which should never be checked into Source code control?

Thank you very much.

  • What are the benefits should the software Intel offers compared to Win zero configuration

    (Satellite M60, Intel 2200BG)
A few months ago Intel released new software WLAN (a major problem for the security, etc.). Initially, there was a memory leak problem, but he was soon fixed. However, they always seem to be a resource hog: there is the CPU usage in the Task Manager on the cob of 10 to 20% every 5 seconds all the time, also WIFI turned off & off, overall performance is affected - this can be seen for example in the tests of hard drive.

I noticed that in order to use windows to configure WLAN & then kill two switching processes (iFramework, S32EvMon (?)) eliminates this activity.
Recently, new Intel drivers are offered by Toshiba also, so I'm about to reinstall them with the option "drivers only".

Anyone know what are the benefits should the full Intel software offer compared to Windows zero configuration?
As far as I know, monitor event S32 is supposed to improve coordination Intel WLAN and LAN, working together.

The new package is about 50MB in size, while the former was 2MB.

    Hi Sammo

You have already preinstalled new driver? The package is really about 50 MB and Intel PROSet utility.

I can tell you that offers software Intel the same configuration options of Windows. Maybe Utility Intel PROSet is friendly and kind but designed WLAN Windows settings by using, you can exactly the same.

If you have more info on the download package and installation please let us know.

  • What should * and * shouldn't go into Source code control?

I've seen posts with snippets of what should not go into source code control, but I've not seen a comprehensive list of what should and should not go into source control. Anyone know? Here's what I know so far - do not put the following files in the source control: .pss, .cpd, .ldb and .hhp.

Now I wonder about the XPJ file. If two or more people work on a project, this file should be source controlled?

Is there a specific list of files that need to be in control of source code in order to maintain the integrity of the project?

The answer is simple here is that machine specific files may not be archived. It is. PSS and. DPC files. The. HHP and. XPJ files are not specific machine, they are specific project and therefore should be archived. The confusion surrounding the HHP file can go down to find out if output CHM is produced. If you're not, we can say safely that this file may not be source controlled. But it costs nothing to register under source control so why make life more difficult by excluding it.

  • Should I Robohelp Server or Source code control? and installation of HR

So, I always compare products of creation and try to filter requirements.

I've been reading more about HR and have met HR server and source control and ask yourself exactly if they are needed.

I'm the only writer in society, probably helping web publishing or outputs html for use online help via our web application.

Is it necessary to implement a server control or source, I can see that server gives me reporting capacity and statistical reports, neither of which I really need. Is there something else on the HR server that would be beneficial?

In addition, source code control, it is more necessary when there are multiple writers accessing the same content at the same time that problems arise? Fix?

Also, is it difficult or time-consuming is the installation process of HR on a single machine. It is a simple setup, or will I need to install database server or anything that might require IT to the team to get involved?

    Thanks for your help.

    Nick

    Hi Nick.

You're almost on the spot. RoboHelp Server is mainly necessary only if you want the features of additional reports. There are other minor differences between RoboHelp and RoboHelp Server but that's the main thing. RoboSource Control is an application for source safe and saved files and is designed for an environment of several author. It adds a layer of complexity to a single authoring environment, even if you can still use it if you wish. Personally I would ensure you have your source on a local disk (a key to RoboHelp requirement) and the backup on a network drive.

Installing RoboHelp is painless. It's like any other application by using a wizard to guide. He has several options that you can choose, which one is to install the RoboSourceControl client.

  • Backward compatible? Can I write software in 2015 SP1 and expect it to work well in 2013 SP1? What are the features will not work?

I need to set up some labview on my current computer software and run it on another computer in another country in a month. I was told that the computer I will eventually run from abroad Labiew 2013 SP1. I don't have a Labview on my computer today and thought I would setup the same SP1 version ito 2013 compatibility. However, it seems that this is not an option. When I go to download products my options are 2012, 2012 SP1, SP1 for 2014, 2015 and 2015 SP1.

So what's the best move here? Can I install 2015 SP1 and wait that everything works ok when I go abroad? I guess not. Why 2013 SP1 is not an option for me? Should I see if guys abroad can upgrade to the latest version? What happens if they can't?

    Thank you

    Trevor

As others said, the best option is to get the same version. If for some reason you cannot really, I suggest you get an older version, because then you can write the code in a newer version and backsave, there are at least two issues that may bite you if you are not well aware of how they work:

    1. If you have used the new features, they will not work in the old code. What you get in fact depends on the specific feature you are using.
    2. When you backsave, I'm sure that LV is a hierarchy save, which means, if you have screws located in the external files that are not vi.lib, it will create copies and you might have a more difficult time sorting out the dependencies.

This occurs if you are using an older version, because the most recent version will simply open it.

    Thank you!

    Hello
my computer is slow, so I read that I should look at the programs that run at startup. These are programs that run at startup, and I was wondering if I should remove an any of them: http://prntscr.com/1zlgf2

    Thank you!

My personal opinion is that the attention that many people pay for how long it takes to start is not justified. Assuming that the speed of the computer is otherwise satisfactory, it is generally not worry. Most people start their computer once a day or even less frequently. In the overall scheme of things, even a few minutes at the start is not very important. Personally I power my computer when I get up in the morning, then go get my coffee. When I come back, he did start. I don't know how long it took to start and I do not.

However, if you don't want to solve it, maybe it's because this programs to start automatically, and you can stop some of them to start this way. On each program, you don't want to automatically start, check its Options to see if she has the choice to not start (make sure that you actually choose to not run, not simply a "don't display the icon" option). Many can easily and better be arrested like that. If this does not work, run MSCONFIG from the start. Run the line and on the Startup tab, uncheck the programs that you do not want to automatically start.
However, if I were you, I wouldn't do this just for the purpose of the minimum number of running programs. Despite what a lot of people tell you, you should be concerned, not with the way * a lot * of these programs you run, but * that *. Some of them can seriously affect the performance, but others have no effect on performance.

Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do is to determine what each program is that its value is for you and what the performance cost is running all the time. You can get more information on the latter with research on the internet and ask questions about the details here.

Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.

e717295f-174-46de-ae61 truly is a process belonging to Microsoft Windows Operating System System. It is used by a lot of different software on your computer. Many programs, you are familiar with that run as stand-alone executables, such as e717295f-174-46de-ae61. However, most of the services are executed can operate independently. • What are the files in library with "S"?

    Hello

I've been adding PlayBook of targeting my system to build command line, and I came across something I'm curious about.

In the lib files, there are your typical library files like libGLES_CM.a, libGLESv2.a, .so versions and so on. However, there are variations of these files with s in names: libGLES_CMS.a, libGLESv1_CMS.a, libGLESv2S.a, libEGLS.a and so on.

    What is the S?

I suspected that the S might have meant static, but looking at the size of the files, S library files are no more than 1-2 larger k. Otherwise this could mean symbols, but I'm not entirely sold on anyone. I suppose I could run objdump or nm to find there, but hey, I'm here to ask.

    Thank you
    -Mike Kasprzak

Here are the archives containing the (PIC) position-independent code.  They are suitable for static linking in your own libraries shared, which would not be regular .a files because they are not PEAK.

Thus, for a given library, you can have the same code packed three ways for different purposes in

    -libxyz.so - dynamically linked execution

-libxyzS.a - linked statically in a binary PIC as a shared library

-libxyz.a - linked statically in another archive or an executable program

  • What are the files must be included in a backup of the catalog?

Is it enough to save the .lrcat file, or must the .lrdata file and folders setting always come with? The previews.lrdata is sometimes a huge file. A catalog works always with a slightly desynchronized previews.lrdata file?

Yes, the catalog (lrcat) backup is a MUST. Not so important is the Preview file (lrdat) as LR will rebuild it for you if it considers that it lacks. If the size of this file is not commensurate with the size of the catalog file that it is maybe because you manage 1:1 previews. Options for what you can find in the settings of the Catalog under file management. What is a record of settings? Oh and don't forget not to backup the catalog file (lrdat) has nothing to do with the backup of your images - they you will have to do for yourself if you do not already done.

    Hello

    Delete files using disk cleanup
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup#delete-files-using-disk-cleanup=Windows-7

Clean all the files on the computer:

System Restore and shadow copies. With this option, you can remove all but the most recent point on the restore disc.

Use system restore to return your system files to an earlier point in time, restore points. If your computer is running normally, you can save disk space by removing the previous restore points.

In some editions of Windows 7, restore points can include previous versions of files, called the shots and backup images created with Windows complete PC Backup. These files and images will also be deleted. For more information about system restore, refer to what is system restore?
