  I just bought a HP pavilion touchsmart n056ea 14 supplied with windows 8. I use it for work and they gave me a windows 7 pro 64 bit OS to use instead that it works better with their systems.   Recently I opened my Matthew acer aspire E5 - 551 G-T018 to replace my 1 TB to 240 GB SSD HARD drive.

  And now I recently saw on a website that there are these caddy that can be used to replace the DVD rom for extra HDD or SSD.

  My laptop has a DVD. It is held by a screw in the back. DVD rom doesn't have a SATA connector, but some small connector and SATA, I don't know his name.

  What I was wondering is would it be possible to replace the DVD rom on this model for a caddy with my old HDD in there?

  And if it's possible. Thickness of which would I need for my future caddy?

  What's wrong with your hard drive exactly?
  The Windows operating system is not able to recognize the drive?
  Have you checked the Device Manager? What status of drive appears in Device Manager?

  You should know that each player uses specific Windows drivers.
  This means that you don't need any additional drivers to work correctly from the CD/DVD drive.

  Have you used the Toshiba Recovery CD?

  After the upgrade to Windows 8.1 the OEM of Windows 8 my machine on the ground to stop. I looked at some common problems, but there are just to many to test when my machine is so slow. Right click takes about 10 minutes to display the menu to give you an idea.

  To make things worse, I tried to do a reset of the HP recovery but it kept also, failing a lesson well learned to create additional recovery CD!

  In any case, I have a copy of Windows 7 but HP does not support this OS on this system, I searched this forum but can't find anything particular about my model number and drivers Windows 7.

  A point in the right direction for Windows 7 drivers for this system would be a great help or advice for me to use the machine on the 8.1

• Need for invalid shortcuts keyboards

  I've been using a Microsoft Media Center Edition Infa-red keyboard with windows xp professional edition for about 2 months now. The problem that I am facing began a few days ago and I have tried everything I know how to fix it. The problem is that, with the use of ANY program, pushing some keys by themselves, WITHOUT pushing CTRL, ALT or SHIFT too, will trigger commands within windows. For example: push F will bring up a screen of windows, pushing search L locks computer, R will bring up the guest of execution, E opens windows Explorer... to name a few. I even tried to raise a word processor and see if the problem is gone, and he did not. I can't even type. Im not sure how this problem started since that everything was fine until a few days ago, the only thing I can think is that my 9 month old pounded some keys on the keyboard and activated a sort of typed command. I did a search in Help and the thing the closest I found was a reference to "natural shortcuts keyboard" which listed orders, but nothing on how to turn it off.

  Here is a list of the things I tried to solve this problem, that does NOT work:

  • Use a different keyboard.
  • Check drivers for peripherals and ensured they were up-to-date.
  • Disabled ALL facilities Access Options
  • Restarting the computer... as many times
  • Searched for hours through the forums here
  • Did a search extended through the windows, built using
  • Check all windows updates to see if any kind of keyboard tricks has been installed

  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help you.

  UPDATE

  Been tooling autour with windows because on the last 3 hours now and finally 'fixed.' While it would have been nice to find an easier way to solve this problem, the only solution I found was to go to Device Manager and remove all material for Media Center IR keyboard profiles, then unplug the IR receiver, wait a few seconds and then plug the receiver IR back in. XP then detects "new hardware" and automatically install the drivers and the hardware profiles for the Media Center keyboard. Now I hope I can keep my month olds 9 paws on the keyboard.

  It was simply due to a problem of Flash Remoting with my host. They solved the problem with Flash Remoting and everything works fine know :)

  Tried Knoppix and seems to work except some problems with drivers for the following:

  1 modem driver-Lucent/Agere-try kanotix which have builtin drivers no longer works. Don't force not to load the serial.o
  2 usb is detected but does not work
  3. usb to serial adapter-very important to me - I have a prolific brand that works like a breeze in xp

  The problem is that the unit is not supported and if you have problems using the Linux operating system, you're on your own. In my opinion, you should try to find a driver on a support page. Also check for general support page of Knnopix on http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=1.
