What is StringPatternContainer class?

I find myself StringPatternContainer class in the class of ReplyField of BBM api and he called by type of invokespecial. I think that this class is working on the smiley face symbol. I want to know how to implement this class because I can not find this class in the Blackberry api.

Thanks for the suggestion.

RIM uses internal classes in their applications that are not in the api.

  • TabArrayTabControl façade object - what is this class?

    I am trying to determine the status on the controls in a tab control.  I can access the tab successfully by digging through the references for the Group and all the objects on the Panel, but the class that is returned is "TabArrayTabControl" (class, ID 55).  When I try to access pages on this control by using the refnum and "to a more specific class" this class is not available as an option, and if I use "TabControl" the VI fails (error 1055 occurred at the more class specific in FAÇADE FIND CONTROLS.vi Possible reason (s): LabVIEW: object reference is not valid.).  I tried to 'replace' the control with a simple "tab", and the problem persists.

    (1) what is the distinction between a "TabControl" and a "TabArrayTabControl".
    (2) how to fix the problem?

    Thank you

    Sorry, just to complete:

    I tried to access specific controls within the tabs and without knowing exactly what they are, or which page of the tab, they were on (it's a long story!).   So as far as I can see, the way to do is to generate a refnum at the façade of a VI and then use this refnum for control of the "allObjs" tab to find the tab control.  However, as I read elsewhere I then had to use "for a specific class' in conjunction with a class tabcontrol to give a refnum I could use to access the individual tab pages.  It does not work (now that I corrected my error in my previous post), but I'm still at a loss to explain what a class of TabArrayTabControl is...

    I can't answer that Q hand. Since you're at foot of a trail, I tread, I offer this nugget for your comment. In this nugget that I try to offer some advice on the use of control references, including the great challenge of how do you manage the tables if you do not know the data types.

    Don't worry if the tail of this nugget gets hairy. The last part is more of a demonstration on which it can be done, but you don't probably Wan to.

    Hello!

    The attribute CLASS is generic, you can put anything in it.   So you get to decide what you use.

    In the box of your RADIUS, for users or the group who it applies to, set it to something like "WSAAdmin" for admins, "WSARO" for read only users...

    Then, when you config the WSA, you set them correctly he...

    But you can really use any string you want, they just need match the appropriate way.

  • What is < br class = "clearfloat" / > in my code?

    I use Dreamweaver and am assuming that some DW point put this code in specific purpose because I don't remember adding it. My question is, I need this line and so for this reason is some place otherwise I put it so that it does not add the extra space?

    DW does not add this to your page.  You do.  I think you need to ginko biloba! 8)

    It is an ancient and completely discredited way to clear a float before closing a container.  It is best to just put "overflow: hidden" to force the container or a single instance of block formatting.

  • What class of object for a subset of table vi?

    I use VI of script to create a subset of the table function.  The problem is that I don't know what class of object VI plug on the new node of object of VI.  I tried the function and Index table, but these two cause errors of execution, who say that the selected style (subset of the table) is not compatible with the class.

    And just like a more general question, how do you determine the class to use in general?  I know that the point is that the selected class determines the type of refnum that came out, but I think that whenever I encounter this problem it is a matter of trial and error to determine what will work class VI.

  • using the structure of the event in the LabVIEW classes

    Hello

    I'm new in the use of LabVIEW classes, so don't know much how I can use them.

    In my main program, I have clusters with five elements in each. The elements are controls two States and in some groups, there are three States controls. The user will press the buttons (controls), and different things will happen. In my first program were I not using classes, I had a structure of the event and the controls were cases of event in the structure.

    Is it possible to somehow use an event of cases in one of the methods that is created in the classes, so that say, that's not in the main program?

    I have attached two photos: I wanted to have a structure of the event in servoTouchEvent (in left.tri.lvclass) who is a child.

    Let me know if my explanation is not clear.

    Grateful for the help!

    Hello

    Yes, you can have a structure of the event in a Subvi rather in your main VI of top-level UI. The trick is to use the 'Save for events' and passing in references to orders that you want to have the event trigger structure for. The refnum output since the function is entered in the terminal of dynamic event of the structure of the event who could live in a Subvi. You can add instances of event where you will see these control events as dynamic events then you can do something with. These excerpts from shows all the code in a simple diagram, but the stuff in the structure of disable diagram could easily transformed into a Subvi:

    All this can be done without classes. What will buy classes you include the ability to encapsulate your screws and also perform different code based on what object on the hierarchy of the parent-child classes is on a wire. If the behavior of your code is different between 2-3 State and controls (which I do not know what state controls 3 you are referring), you can take advantage of the classes.

  • delegate method calls to the members of a class

    Hello

    I'm new to LabView and using the 2013 version.

    I am familiar with the concepts of object-oriented programming.

    situation/goal

    I have a controller that controls axes. The controller said communication happens via plain text messages.

    I want to control the two axes with orders abstract (moving, stop, speed change, etc.) of LabView.

    That's why I created a class of axis with several parameters. (although)

    The controller communication is established via an ActiveX reference.

    I created a controller class that holds said reference in addition to the two axes.

    My goal here is to create a controller object, which past its ActiveX reference for the two axis.

    To add lines to the controller I dragged the class axis from the window of the class controller twice overall project.

    I created some accessors to all members of the class of the axis, including its ActiveX reference.

    problem

    In the Set accessor method for the controller class ActiveX reference, I would like to call the setters for the return of the two axes objects that contains the ActiveX controller.

    I can separate the controller to see the two axes, but I can neither unbundle either of the axes nor can I add a method node to them.

    It is logical that the separation is not possible to ensure encapsulation, but why can't I just call a method?

    Am I still add references to objects when you drag the axis class?

    Or is what adds the class itself?

    If this adds the class, how can I add a reference to an object of a certain class as a member of another class?

    I've attached a screenshot of the controller class.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

    The object Oriented Design is rater hard. Encapsulation banned, as you said, the data from your classes are defined outside their class.

    In your case it means that you have to create a data member access VI inside of the class of the Axes. These access screws (methods) allows you to set the values for these axes of type two objects inside of the controller of the class. Make sure that these two classes are in the less community.

    You can refer to a class using reference data value, Yes, BUT in this data type to the reference class is included. At the time, it seemed more convenient: LabVIEW programming job: The decisions behind the Design http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3574/en/

    Self an example here:

    Examples for the new reference value of data with the Forums of Discussion LVOOP https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Examples-for-New-Data-Value-Reference-with-LVOOP/td-p/1317493

    If you want to use data heavily references, I would recommend the GOOP package, which has different design questions build in singleton as etc. (which are not possible by default in LabVIEW)

  • Question of encapsulation: protected attributes must be visible to child classes

    Hi guys, I found the following problem of inheritance and encapsulation and I was wondering if someone could explain it to me:

    Suppose you have a parent with a non protected attribute class static (I know that's a mouthful, thank you that follows).

    package package1.
    public class {Parent}
    protected int a = 10; It's the non-static protected attribute in question
    Public Shared Sub main (String [] args) {}
    what logic
    } / / end class parent
    } / / end of main()

    Now suppose you have a class of the child in another package and that you imported in the parent class.

    the package2 package;
    package1 Import. Parent;
    Child/public class extends {Parent}
    Public Shared Sub main (String [] args) {}
    Parent p = New Parent();
    Class c Child = new Child();

    System.out.println (p.a.); should print at 10 BUT did NOT
    System.out.println (c.a.); should print 10
    } / / end of main()
    } / / end of class of the child

    My observation is that p.a. generates an error, even if, to the best of my knowledge, it should not. I think the "System.out.println (p.a.)" statement; should I print a 10.

    I'm something of misunderstanding about inheritance and encapsulation? Could someone tell me if there is a problem with my understanding or a problem with the Java language?

    Thanks for reading this far. I hope that you are also interested in this question that I am. : )

    An important point to make, since rp0428 posted about it, is that the class of the child is in another package than the parent class. This is done deliberately for the purpose of this thought experiment. By the rules of Java, as I understand it, ANY class of the child - regardless of the package - should be able to see the protected variables.
    >
    Then you don't have to "understand" section of the specification of the Java language that I quoted.
    >
    If the class of the child was in the same package as the parent, the child would be able to see the default encapsulated AND protected variables. But if the child is NOT in the same packet, then it should always be able to see the protected variables. Isn't it?
    >
    No - it's NOT just as technical section I quoted said you.
    >
    Once again, without a concrete answer, he got to wonder if this is a bug hidden in the JAVA virtual machine. If so, my next question would be how to report?
    >
    You have a "concrete response." It doesn't get any more "real" than the specification of the Java language. It defines the rules and that I have cited applies to your use case.

    Interface Cloneable why question 1) in the first place?

    Who cares why? What is important is that it is like that, and he won't change. Only people who have designed, it can really answer. That was over 15 years ago. I'm sure if you asked these people in an interview today they would answer Yes, "I would differently today.

    Question (2) why is Cloneable interface interface marker or why not keep method clone() in there?

    No need; all objects inherit from the object and the object has the clone() method.

    Question 3) why not create a Cloneable class rather than the recognizable interface?

    Because you can extend only one class and implement several interfaces. What makes a class would severely limit you. What actually a class wouldn't change anything anyway - it would be always empty.

    Question 4) why it's default implementation of the method in object clone()?

    Convenience? Basically the same as 1), why can only really be answered by the people who designed it.

    Question 5) why so method clone() protected object?

    Once again a why. Because a group of people decided that should be the case.

    My own point of view on this, is that it is a compromise between adhering to an interface contract (Cloneable) while providing a default implementation anyway (Object.clone ()). But I can only guess. I do not why in all cases, I only care how to do it correctly. Which is pretty easy and well documented.

  • Why use an abstract class?

    I am new to Java, and for some reason I can't get my head around why use an abstract class. I understand that an abstract class is something like:
    public abstract class Food{ // abstract class

    public void eat(){
    // stub
    }

    }

    public class Apple extends Food{

    public void eat(){
    // Eat an apple code
    }

    }
    So basically the idea above is that you can eat a "Apple", but you can't eat "food" because you cannot instantiate an abstract class.

    I understand what an abstract class is and how to write a. What I don't understand is why you would use it? It seems to me I might just create a normal class, called 'Food' and just do not instantiated. What are the benefits of using an abstract class?

    807479 wrote:
    If an abstract class should be used when you can implement fully some of the methods, but the other method can only be defined as heels?

    Fix.

    Note that Java abstract classes aren't necessary, but they add comfort and a way to correctly model the ideas we try to represent.

    That is why it must be abstract because you can not instantiate the class because not all methods are completely formed?

    Yes pretty close.

    So basically in an example of a mammal, I might have a breath() method entirely defined in the abstract class because all breath of mammals.
    But I should only do a method stub for speak() like any mammal makes a different sound.

    Right.

    Now I can not instantiate a mammal because it has only a stub for the speak() method so it must be an abstract class.

    Fix. There is no common way speak all mammals.

    But if I create a class called cow and extend the class mammal I only need to write the speak() method as I can inherit the breath() method completely trained.

    Is this correct? I am an abstract class if I can't entirely make up together the method. But I use an abstract class when I can form some of the methods?

    Your terminology is a little off, but, Yes, it seems that you have understood the concepts.
