What is the small icon of Firefox "bug" on the right side of the browser next to the menu?

Menu to the right of the browser is a graphic or icon that appears to be connected to the combustion chamber. This icon is poorly equipped and distracting to the browser and seems to serve no purpose other than just being annoying.

If it is displayed with the intention of Mozilla, take this comment as a complaint of dissatisfaction of your product, the Firefox browser.

I have not yet try the Google browser, but if you're the "intuned' to the user experience, maybe it's time to give them a try.

This 'problem' with a graphic is posted on: http://uncontrolledopposition.com/2014/09/15/annoying-creepy-critter-firefox-icon-on-browser/

What is the menu item "Bring everything to the front ', and how to use it?

It's a selection in the window menu and means to bring all open windows of this application at the front and push all the windows open for other applications behind. This makes access to the easiest application windows. However, if you don't have that one window open in an application, then the menuitem does nothing.

  • Bookmark button to show Firefox when the Menu is visible

Just updated to FF25 of FF22 and decided to have the toolbar of Menu visible, and everything was fine. Until I restarted FF and now my bookmark dropdown BUTTON disappeared. I go to customize and the button reappears, but as soon as I close the window customize, it disappears. I then hide the bar menu, if just the Menu title bar button appears and the bookmark drop down button reappears. WTH? Why every time FF is updated I have to spend time scrounging Google to 'fix' things to the way they were?

So, how can I get the Drop Down bookmarks button to display AND have the Bar Menu visible at the same time? To answer to those who wonder, why? or there is a text of bookmarks drop down already in the Menu bar, I me in MOCK! I want the feature back and am frankly done sick a tired of all these small tweeks FF with no notes on what they have done and why. Also another problem, that I just discovered. My arrow of downloads is the size of the normal buttons, but when there is a download, it bloats wide about 5 buttons and 2 buttons in high, and the progress bar is half this height! When before it all would remain within the dimensions of size unique button. So now I have also remove toolbars, because it makes the whole bar 2 x height.

It's hard, but I'm so frustrated with everything. When they worked well before and I've only updated for new features and security, but whenever the FF team decides to waste his time with features that have been there for several months or years, it drives me crazy.

Found a link that showed me how to change a userchrome file, allowing me to force the bookmark icon to always show little matter what mode the menu bar is in.

    Seriously FF you are ridiculous.

in the menu toolbar customization, ALL the small icons in the last set (home, reload the page, page download stop, etc.) are dishes on MISSING, and therefore I can not add the Firefox. What can I do?

These buttons are not in the drop-down to 'Add' Palette, they are on the Navigation toolbar and must be "moved".
The buttons Stop and reload should appear between the address bar and the search bar when customize is open, and the home button should appear to the right of the search bar.

I installed Firefox 21 on a new Windows 7 operating system. The menu bar and the toolbar at the top of the windows is full small horizontal lines. • I keep running the update of firefox, but next time I click on my icon of firefox, it opens an older version and asks me to update. What is going on?

I downloaded and ran the update of Firefox. It said it was successful and then the homepage etc came. However, after I had closed and starts again the 'old' version came when I clicked on the icon of Firefox with the usual comment I have an old version and that you need to update. What I am doing wrong?

If you use the www.google.com/firefox as homepage site that previous versions of Firefox 3 use as homepage you can ignore the message about not using the latest version of Firefox on this page.

Google seems to keep this page.

The text on the implementation of the latest version of Firefox is in the code of the www.google.com/firefox site that previous versions of Firefox 3 use as homepage and it seems that Google is no longer do not update this page.

The current versions of Firefox 4 + is no longer use this website from Google as home page, but use the build-in on: home page as the home page.

Google assumes that you are using an older version of Firefox if you still visit this site, and warns you that you are using an older version of Firefox and invites you to update.

You can use a different page than the homepage as subject: House or www.google.com or www.google.com/ig (iGoogle).

Thanks for a great web browser, I use it as my main browser since version 1.0.x.

Thank you, but that does not make the icons smaller in size as the old way, used to work.

I try the extension Classic theme restaurant to see if it will fix it. So far, he seems to have a bug that I informed the author.

  • When I click on my icon of firefox homepage says "the address is not a valid URL. The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded. How can I fix it?

When I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and clicked on the Firefox icon I get this message on the Firefox homepage "the address is not valid.

The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded. "I can always access the internet but what do I do to get rid of this message. The home page does not display the icon of firefox.

You can check the setting of the homepage:

    • Tools > Options > general > startup: Homepage

Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol (pipe).

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • What is the name of this icon and how do I add it?

Too bad I can't reach a very small screenshot of this icon; that would go a long way to help you identify for me. < hmm >?

In any case, I have two different profiles that I use, and it has an icon on toolbar (applet-addon-thingy) that I find useful and would add to the other profile. The 'magical' applet appeared in the upgrade to FF30. Its function is almost a replacement for the old Menu bar, including such items as aid (absent in the icon menu Australis!). The first two elements of the applet are: 'New tab' and "New private window" There are two columns of menu items, the latter in column two a "Help".

The appearance of the icon: a firefox - the grey Fox and a small triangle to the right indicating a "pull-down".

I can't find this icon in my add-ons/plugins lists, so I think it's NOT an add-on, but rather native applet FF.

My goal: Add this functional applet even to my other profile.

Again, I could do this much easier if I could include an attachment of bitmap, but... I do not.

Note that you can put the Firefox menu button in the tab bar to have shown that the earlier version of the Firefox App button menu and give a background color (orange).

  • Version 29: Address bar is filled with static icons to Firefox. Impossible to type the URL in the address bar.

I have never seen anything like this before and can't find a solution in support or in a general Google search.

We have a user who has an address bar has filed with the static icons in Firefox (there's a screenshot if there is no way to predict that). If the user clicks on them, they aren't going anywhere (they shouldn't be here anyway, no?). This user is unable to type in the address bar, either. Not sure if there was an auto-update to version 29 of the next day or not, but Firefox has been uninstalled a sweet version of installed 29 - reasoning that he could be an installation problem. The question remains. This user is not having the same problem with Chrome. Have not tried to breed with another browser on that machine. Have not heard complaints from other users in the Office using version 29.

Is there a setting being ignored with version 29? Is this a bug? Should we try to install version 28 and see if it's a question of versioning, or maybe something else? Try to eliminate possible problems and move to the next set of solutions.

    Thank you
