  Hello! I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3150us Entertainment Notebook that works under Windows 7.   What company manufactured the chip USB controller on the card (not the brand of card)?  You may need to take off a sticker to read the name.  Is it VIA or Opti?  These maps have been problematic for the beige G3s and could cause the gel.  I have had success with a card from IOGEAR USB 2.0 2-port in my fleet of beige G3s, which I attribute to them have a controller NEC chip.
