  You could try object > flatten transparency and clear colors to preserve overprints and Spot.

  I ran acrobat 8 Professional on Windows 7 64 bit. I can only create PDF files when you are logged on as administrator. I tried to add the user to the Administrators group, but still have the same problem. The system locks just after adobe promts me to the name of the file, I provided file name, click on save and it crashes when displaying the "" print message "»

  Acrobat 8 Pro is not compatible with Win 7 - especially for the creation of PDF files.

  I checked your account details for the same ID you use here on the forums.

  You bought subscription Adobe PDF package that is why you are unable to open a PDF file.

  You should perhaps install Adobe Reader (free software) or buy a subscription to open a PDF Acrobat DC file.

  I'm not sure if execution of the command file on my box will tell me if a given created PDF file is encrypted and with what level of encryption.  Is there a way to determine if the file is encrypted by using the Unix/Linux tools after the fact?

  It is assumed that you want to do this in UNIX command line / Shell / Terminal.  There is a way that you could do that and that is to 'rolling' and build the tool with the Adobe PDF Library SDK.  Datalogics, which is an Adobe partner has a port of UNIX for the Adobe PDF Library SDK which could be used to create a tool that does this for you, but there is a very big opposition involved in the price structure for the Adobe's PDF library.

  b. right click on the saved file.
  c. Select: open with on the shortcut menu.
  d. click: choose [default] program.
  e. Select: Adobe Reader (or in the PDF Viewer you use)
  f. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
  g. click OK.
  This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

  So, to try to resolve the frustration, I'll have using Adobe Reader for iOS to create PDF files (without having to pay to Adobe about 25% of my current subscription creative Cloud...) I logged a sales eqnuiry via the Adobe website.

  He immediately asks how many computers I activated my creative cloud account. Alone, I say.

  This is ridiculous, I say--Adobe does not know how customers want to use your products. More people are going to use a laptop or desktop and tablet. But if I have a desktop computer and a laptop I can get creative Cloud on both. I accept that they are different OS, but don't make excuses like "Acrobat.com is a different product to Acrobat Pro"-j' I already pay for the latter in my subscription of the CC, so why should I be slashed prices another 25%? Made plain greedy Adobe look - and again, that they will not pay taxes in Australia...

  If it was not more than $5 per month in addition to the subscription of the CC, maybe I'd go for it - but everything is more DAYLIGHT ROBBERY in my opinion.

  You subscription creative cloud as you mentioned. In Adobe Reader to convert PDFS to other formats Adobe offers an online service called Acrobat.com services: https://www.acrobat.com/en_us.html

  This is the reason why no one could tell you about the call, you have to pay for this service.

  Under the creative clouds, find Adobe applications. However, under Acrobat.com, you get online services that provide online features of Acrobat.

  From the point of view API, several programming languages for the web (PHP, Python, etc.) have production of PDF modules that may be able to meet your needs for future applications.   Unfortunately, no. ExportPDF is just to create Word (or Excel) documents of existing PDF files. To combine several PDF files into one, you must either Pack PDF or Acrobat DC.

  Protected mode can be "a very important part of their security features", but what's the point if the product does not work?

  If has been like that since the introduction of Safe_mode in drive X.  Reader, crashes, hangs, cale, cannot print and various other symptoms.

  I recommended to disable Safe_mode for a very long time, and even Adobe support staff do often the same here in the forum.

  There is absolutely no advantage whatsoever to keep protected Mode enabled.  (Although I personally have never had no problems [with protected Mode on] on any of my Windows systems.)
