What to do before installing KB2229593?

last month, I have installed the fix for this John in order to overthrow (fix - it Center) before you install this latest update. None of the links show the fix - sound more.  should I uninstall this hotfix before you install the update?

Hi topopurim,

No need to uninstall the solution fixit for Help and Support Center.  Just install theMS10-042 (KB2229593) security update if it is displayed in Windows Update Web site for your system, so you get the "security fix" instead of "work-around only", offered by the Fixit solution.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

  • What should I know before installing XP x 64 on my MBP?

I want to create a VM Windows XP x 64 for testing my application on an x 64 OS. Given the processor of my MBP, is there anything I need to know or do before installing XP x 64? The virtual machine will 'really' run in 64-bit mode, or will it be some kind of emulation mode?

I use Fusion 2.0.2 (146107) with the following MBP hardware specifications:

    Model name: MacBook Pro

    Model identifier: MacBookPro3, 1

Processor name: Intel Core 2 Duo

    Processor speed: 2.4 GHz

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of cores: 2

    L2 Cache: 4 MB

    Memory: 4 GB

    Bus speed: 800 MHz

    Boot ROM version: MBP31.0070.B02

    SMC Version: 1.16f8

Since you have a Core 2 Duo, it should work (assuming of course that you mean "in a virtual machine," technically you do not install OSes on processors). It will really be in 64 - bit (technically, some instructions can be generalized, as with 32-bit virtual machines).

  • Boot Camp: This disc seems to have been divided by another utility. It must be erased before installing Windows.

I have a SATA Western Digital to 6 TB drive on my Mac Pro 2012.  I thought "what better place to put a bootcamp partition?  But when I went to use the Boot Camp Assistant, I was greeted with this:

Boot Camp: This disc seems to have been divided by another utility. It must be erased before installing Windows.

I thought ' OK - I'll delete data... Use utility disk to erase the disk completely, and then try again.  After a few hours, I used... completely partitioned disk utility disk and tried again.

    Same message.

It seems that for some reason I can erase completely and use the entire disk for Windows (blah) or should I use another drive or not Boot Camp at all.  Is there a problem with the size of the hard drive Boot Camp can support?  Any advice?

    Hello ElPapa,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand that you want to put a Boot Camp partition on your Western Digital HD connected to your Mac Pro. What is your boot drive? If this isn't the case, it could be part of your problem. According to the following article on installing Microsoft Windows using Boot Camp, it is said that you need "at least 55 GB of free disk space on your startup disk".

  • HP envy 14-2090eo: in what order should drivers installed better when you do the clean install

    Hi HP experts...

I want to do a clean install of my Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, and I've always used my recovery disks when it was necessary to format and subsequently updated all the drivers in the support section and drivers HP, but it is a slow process, and I'm not even in what order I should update drivers when it that way or the other , and often a message jumped ud saying ' the driver is not properly installed - try again or the driver is installed correctly. But as mentioned, I want to do a clean install with my Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit disk and would like some experts advise on order in which drivers must be installed. Can anyone help?

    Best regards hpenvy1

    Hello:

The order generally recognized installation of the driver is:

1 install the chipset driver and restart.

    2. install the graphics driver and restart.

    3. install the audio driver and restarted.

    4 install the ethernet driver.

    5. install the wireless driver.

Then you can install a driver you want.

I also do a practice to update to the latest service pack before installing the drivers, if any.

  • How to re - assign drive letters to partitions before installing XP?

I would like to re - adversely affect permanent drive letters for the existing partitions on a hard drive that has been used for data storage only (i.e. I want to keep the partitions), then install XP.  How can I re - assign the drive letters for the partitions?

    Hello

I just put one of my XP (bootable) disk in another one of my XP machines. The reader, before he was transferred, with C, E and Z scores. He was placed in a PC that had C and F partitions on a single drive hard but also taking over the letter E for the optical drive.

After insertion, the partition on the changed drive letters as follows...

    C to D

    E to H

    Z to G

Just for the acid test, while only inserted in the other PC, I changed the G (formerly Z) to Y.

Then I replaced the drive in his PC original and started again. Partition letters were returned to what they were before the transfer took place, i.e., C, E and Z.

What makes that to demonstrate that the drive letters do not move with a disc, they are assigned by Windows, at the time of the first detection of this particular operating system and remain like that for this particular operating system, possibly modified in another PC.

Of this, you'll see suggestions to change the partition letter in another PC won't work.

It seems that you have partitioning software at your disposal, so what I would suggest you do is the following.

These instructions assume that you have an OEM installation of Windows CD, IE. not the manufacturer recovery media to perform the installation. The manufacturer recovery media is likely to format the entire disk (including all your data partitions) before installing Windows.

Firstly back up all important data.

Re-label all existing singlepartitions. This will help you determine what Windows Setup detects when you go through the installation of bulkheads treat.

Secondly, to create a space at the beginning of the training, large enough for the new OS to move/resize existing partitions. Then create a new partition in this space at the beginning of the disk, label it unique and make it active. Check that it is the active partition only. Hide all other partitions, leaving the new partition at the beginning of the disc as the only visible and active partition.

Disconnect a card reader and make sure that none of the external hard drives, memory sticks etc are attached and start the Windows installation CD.

If all goes well, the Windows installation will see your new partition on the C drive, and you can install Windows.

Once Windows has successfully installed you can install and use your partitioning software to display the hidden partitions. Windows should assign the letters unused in alphabetical order beginning with E (or F if you have two optical drives). You can change these letters if you want, but you have to leave within the newly created OS, and not in another PC. Your partitioning software probably has this installation or use disk management as described previously by Nithyananda J, i.e. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307844

Install Windows 8 automatically formats the hard drive?  If this isn't the case, I should format it FAT or NTFS drive before installing Win/8?

No, this isn't format the hard drive, what's done is put your existing version of Windows in a folder called "windows.old", it indeed erases old files of version and folders, leaving free space on the existing partition "NTFS" (formerly ocupied by your previous version of windows) in which is installed Windows 8.

And "NTFS" is the only file system that supports Windows 8.

  • What do I need install Oracle Database 11 g 2 for the Oracle 10 g database migration?

    Hi all

Would you be kind enough to help me with the following question!  I currently have Oracle Database 10 g on the old servers to my work and I want to install the GR 11, 2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Oracle database to new servers for upgrade.  I also forms, reports and Designer 10 g to maintain our existing applications.  So, I already looked in the Certification and found the following:

Latest version of the product: latest version of the database server window weblogic

    Form Builder 11.1.2.0.0 11.2.0.4.0 7, 2008 R2, 2008 10.3.6.0.0

    Reports           11.1.2.0.0                                           11.2.0.4.0                                                 7, 2008 R2, 2008                                   10.3.6.0.0

    Designer 10.1.2.6.0 11.2.0.1.0 xp, vista, 7, 2003 (all 32 bit)

For Designer, it is approved for a 32 - bit window, so I'm having trouble with the new requirement of system this window must be after 2003.  I want to take all of the availability and follow the Oracle certification (except that I will be given Designer because of compliance) as above.  I'm new with Oracle, and I don't know what comes with what to do it is complete.

    1. I'm going to install a database server (free 11.2.0.4.0 as described above) in a new server (2008 R2), then what I have to install the WebLogic Server with it?

    2. I'll install the generator of reports and Forms Builder (11.1.2.0.0) in another server (2008R2), so what I have to install WebLogic Server as well with her?

    3. what else do I need to install on this two server so that they work so that I can begin to migrate all existing data, forms and States more?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Remember that this forum is targeted to the Oracle Forms product, for questions about the database can be better answered in one of the areas of database.  That being said, here are my comments:

1 I'll install a database server (version 11.2.0.4.0 as described above) in a new server (2008 R2), then what I have to install the WebLogic Server with it?

A database facility didn't need of WLS (which I am aware). Consider what you want is a typical design at three levels. Database - average level (applications server) - Client (tools and end user).   Each level has nothing to do with the other installation point of view assuming that they are not installed on the same computer. WLS is a middleware software (medium level). Be sure to check the product documentation before performing any installation. The 11.2 DB docs can be found here:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/index.htm

    2. I will install Forms Builder and Report Builder (11.1.2.0.0) in another server (2008R2), so what I have to install WebLogic Server as well with it?

Tools (Forms Builder, generator of reports, etc.) are not remote or web tools.  These must be installed on each developer's computer.  The installation of these tools does not require that WLS be installed first (on the developer's computer), but there is no need to be run unless the developer wants to apply locally for testing.  For a production deployment (multi-user), a similar concept will be used.  WLS will be installed first, followed by the forms and reports Services (runtime).  It will be on your remote server (medium level).  Software distribution you use will be exactly the same for the developer and the installation of intermediate level.  The difference will be in the options you choose during installation.  If you want to include manufacturers during installation, simply check the appropriate boxes when you are prompted.

Also, if you plan to use the forms/States 11 GR 2, I recommend not using 11.1.2.0 and instead use 11.1.2.2, which is the latest version. F/R 11.1.2.2 installation requires that you first install WLS 10.3.6.  You should refer to the product documentation before beginning any installation. Specifically, carefully examine the product Setup Guide and Guide to the system requirements. The 11.1.2.2 doc library can be found here:

3 what else do I need to install on this two server so that they work so that I can begin to migrate all the existing data, forms and States on?

Looks like you've covered everything.  The granular details will be covered in the Installation and Guides to the system requirements.

    My recommendations:

o ensure that each machine has at least 4gig of RAM

o ensure that each machine has a static IP address before you start any part of the installation.  This can be done without a static IP address, but you must take additional steps (see Guide to Sys Req).

o on machines where you plan to install WLS, make sure you have a 64 bit JDK installed first.  If you don't use a F/R 11.1.2.2, you must use Java 6.  However, if you decide to use 11.1.2.2, you can use Java 6 or 7.  Do not use Java 8 in all cases.

When it comes to the designer, it must be installed on an old machine.  In General, I do not recommend to use it longer.  Although there is currently not a way to full migration out of it, you can use SQL Developer to manage the db objects that were created/used with it.  There are several MyOracleSupport documents that discuss the issue.  You can search the Knowledge Base of MOS to find or contact Support for more information.

  • How to know what HP SPP is installed

I want to install the HP PSP before installing a custom image and wanted to know if there was a simple way to determine what SPP is installed.  I'll have come trouble with one method other then start in the PSP and wanted to know if anyone had any ideas.  I thought I would just check firmware of the ANC/HBA through ESXCLI, but that doesn't seem to be visible in the current version, which I am running.  Any thoughts are appreciated.  Thank you!

I agree, contrary to a service pack OS that is not like a running total, and so you can choose which firmware etc to install so watching a special on your host version will not necessarily indicate levels of all the rest.

That said, if you have a policy to install the PSP basically then you could identify a particular element of the firmware or driver and check it against the content of a release of SPP (e.g. here) report

In vSphere, you can check the versions you have on your hosts on the status tab of the material or the site of HP Insight Management plug-in, or ILO, if you have one to determine at what level your firmware etc is up to.

    Hope this helps, good luck

A google search of the proposed problem that there is an error related to the number of times I can reinstall this product due to licensing issues.

Absolutely not. You're misinterpreting things. Activation does not happen when you simply run the installer, although later. This means that what he says - there is another 'install' pending / assets on your system, which means somewhere, there is a process (invisible) always blocking things. Whatever it is, since you have not provided any real technical info, we can not advise specifically. If you are using Windows, you can check your task manager and to terminate any process setup.exe and msiexec.exe more potentially will need to manually fix / remove some registry keys. What beyond this, you will be much more accurate.

bobba1, CS6 and CC are two separate applications. Thus, it is irrelevant at all, how or in what order uninstall you.

If you do not want to keep both of them, you can install CS6, maybe after or before installing CC, your choice.

Depends on what plug-ins and tools you use, and whether or not they are compatible with the CS6. If this isn't a problem, and you are reasonably sure you don't need a fallback option, to uninstall CS4 before installing the CS6 is indeed the way to do it. It is completely optional.
