When I play videos in win 7 I really get pixelated video. What gives? I did not have this problem on vista

Video playback is not very good on VLC.  Very rasterized and pixelated.  Are there updates available for win 7

Hello Ebrink79,

Thank you for your message.  It is a known problem for VLC under Windows 7 users because VLC uses default Direct3D.  You can use Windows Media Player 12, which uses the correct output for Windows 7.  Or you can follow the steps below, keep in mind that this will disable Aero, but should allow you to see your media in VLC.
In VLC, click on 'Tools' > 'Preferences' (Advanced mode) > 'Video' > output modules, now set video output module for ' video output DirectX.
Please let us know if it did or it does not solve your problem.
See you soon
