    I have THUNDERBIRD for my email. Very happy with it. My computer is dead, new computer purchased Windows 7 on purpose.     Tools menu > options > Security > passwords > saved passwords > show passwords

    However, I think that your problem is more likely your anti virus/firewall blocking Thunderbird. Often, when your request a password that's not incorrect settings, it is anti virus did not cooperate. It is with ATT security suite powered by McAfee and Norton suite.

    Turn off email scanning in your anti virus program. Component check and firewall allows Thunderbird explicitly. Car is not good enough apparently. If this does not work for you. Please add the troubleshooting information to your post
