WHERE IS START PRIVATE BROWSING?
I used to have some tools/Start Private Browsing Session
Go to Firefox20.
What happened to him? If I can't have on a session basis can I return to Firefox19?
You can not. External links open via another program still open in a normal tab. However, you can make this private tab with an extension.
Future versions of Firefox will support Private Browsing tab, it is already available in the extension.
The Firefox menu button gets purple or you get a mask purple PB on bar menus or tab bar (Linux), if you are in a tab of PB and all tabs on private browsing mode get a dotted underline.

That's what he said! But where is this Firefox button at the top of my window of Firefox (v 20.0.1)? What I have at the top of the window is:
(1) a bar of blue background with the Firefox icon and the title of the current page
(2) 2 bars gray background with buttons and menus (file, editing,...)
(3) 1 bar background gray with the bookmarks bar
(4) the tab bar
But no Firefox button, and none available in the customise dialog. Have I suppressed it somehow?
Hello, the private browsing window is accessible via the file menu that you referenced too - or you can use keyboard shortcut ctrl + shift + p.
If you want to get the interface by default with the firefox button well, go to view > toolbars and disable the menu bar...

We have one topic: configuration option to disable start private browsing?
I was able to disable some windows private options that appear in the menus and buttons by locating the controls right in the browser.xul and adding the disabled = "true" attribute to each tag. I was also able to prevent all: privatebrowsing are used for this purpose by doing something similar to aboutPrivateBrowsing.xhtml, but I've always had the task of the new window in my jump list. The only way to eliminate this option I saw was completely disabled the list of tasks by setting browser.taskbar.lists.tasks.enabled to false. Then after you find and delete the appropriate file CustomDestinations Windows folder jumplist, I now only new tab or a new, either window. These are a lot of hoops to get through! We need a better way: give us a topic: config option called browser.privatebrowsing.enabled with a default value true, which, once set to false will disable the entry point for the incognito, even for the jumplist taskbar mode.
Two ways that you can make this request.
- Submit feedback to Mozilla using the help > menu item to submit your comments.
- Fill a RFE (request for development) to Bugzilla bug report.

I liked having the popup alert; However, I accidentally checked the box and now the alert is not pop up. Is it possible to restore it?
You can set the pref browser.privatebrowsing.dont_prompt_on_enter false (default value) on the topic: config page.
To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page. -
I think it is a step backwards because I'm sure it was correct in previous beta versions.
Seems to work very well here.

WHEN I OPEN THE FIREFOX BROWSER, I DON'T SEEM TO HAVE THIS ORANGE BAR THAT SAYS FIREFOX AT THE TOP LEFT. I WATCH FILE, EDIT, VIEW, HISTORY, FAVORITES, TOOLS, AND HELP. I WANTED TO TURN ON PRIVATE BROWSING, BUT SEEMS TO HAVE LOST THE FIREFOX BUTTON THAT I NEED TO CLICK ON. THANK YOU, JANE
If you click view, toolbars, then uncheck the 'Menu Bar', you get the Firefox back button?
To turn on private browsing, you can click on the Firefox button, then 'start private browsing' or press Control, Shift, and P keys all at the same time on your keyboard.
Also, make sure that you update with the last 11 Firefox to take advantage of security fixes and stability!

I had an existing laters 3 point what Firefox and recently upgraded version upgraded to Firefox 10. This new version has still the old toolbar at the top, but there is no button "Firefox" that one has to use to activate certain actions such as "private browsing". Is there anyway I can install the button in the toolbar, or is it possible to change to the new interface of version 10 which includes the Firefox Button. I prefer the old (the old configuration with the toolbar on top, but if that can't do, how to migrate to the new configuration that apparently puts the tools on the side, if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks for any help you can provide. I have Windows XP.If you have the toolbar to the former, you can always go to private browsing by clicking on tools, then on 'Start private browsing'. All located in the Firefox button options in the old-style toolbar, just maybe a little more hidden.
To activate you button Firefox, go to view, then toolbars, then uncheck "menu bar". You should have the Firefox button.
