Where is text-to-speech?

I am using Captivate 5.5 on a Mac.  I downloaded the software, open a previously saved captivate file with text-to-speech completed on another computer.  On this computer, I can't locate a text-voice button on the right side of the lower window.  Because I downloaded the Mavericks on my other Mac computers, I can not access my files or what should be in this window.  In my view, also missing a button 'subtitles '.  I just see timeline.  Thank you very much for your help!

You mean that the moorings has only the mounting Panel? Have you tried to reset the classic workspace, if the workspace you are using, or switch to a different workspace? In any case, you can always open Notes slide with the window menu (hope it's called like that in Mac as well - located to the right of the menu topics). I can't translate the shortcut key in the language of Mac's on PC is CTRL-ALT-N.

In v5.6.1 Pages and releases from previous pages, the text-to-speech feature can pause via the Edit: speech: stop talking about the menu item. However, speech will take not from where it was suspended, but at the beginning of the document, or text selection. No solution for that.

However, you can create a script Automator single action that will transform all text selected in a Pages document in an audio file on the desktop. That support good break and resume simply control-click audio file icon.

    1. In your Dock, click on Launchpad (rocket icon)
      1. Select other, and then the Robot Automator.
    2. When the launches of Automator, select New Document: Service: choose
    3. Locate the music library from the Automator library entries
      1. Drag and drop the text to the Audio file action to the right in the bigger window of workflow
      2. Drag and drop the encoding to MPEG Audio action below the previous action
      3. Use the settings in the screenshot accompanying as a guide. I have deliberately omitted an extension of file name for the audio file to the output of the first action it will be applied after the conversion in the second action.
      4. Now, the file menu: Save... and in my case, I gave the name of Service as text2voice.
      5. Quit Automator
    4. In System Preferences: keyboard Panel: shortcuts: Services, scroll down until you see the entrance to text2voice and check to make it active.
    5. In the Pages, select as much text you want to listen to, and then in the Pages menu: Services: text2voice - send text selected to the audio file.
    6. Click the controls to play/pause/repeat on the icon of the audio file, resulting.

Click the following command to expand the service described above.

How can I turn off text to speech that I turned it on to listen to the voice and now there seems to be no way to turn it off

    Hello

Follow the steps below to disable text to speech in Windows Vista.

    (a) go to the section on your main screen where you see the time displayed.

    (b) it is called the "bar", all kinds of small icons are visible here, there's even a gadget of the small arrow that would normally point to the right if you have a lot of programmes to help you use windows.

    (c) "left click on"the small arrow in a circle - this will expand the list to display small icons, drip slowly mouse over the bar of 'system' in order to launch a pop - up of each icon, once you reach the icon that says something like "text to speech tool","make a clique right".

    (d) a pop-up list appears showing what options are available - option whatever go to "Properties" or "settings", "click on" this element gives.

    (e) a new Panel will appear - in select here the article that says something like "launch on startup", it should have a box next to it, that will be ticked or marked in some way - "click" this element so that it seems to be clear and followed by the button "apply" "click" the button "OK" - which should solve your problem.

  • I like the text-to-speech engine in Windows. I want to have the computer voice on Star Trek to be my text-to-speech voice. How can I do this?

original title: Star Trek computer voice TTS

    Hello

I like the text-to-speech engine in Windows.  I want to have the computer voice on Star Trek to be my text-to-speech voice.  How can I do this?
It must be possible, but 2012 already.
Another way to ask, where is a large collection / selection / compilation of the text-to-speech voices I can install?  Created by Msft or 3rd party.
Windows 8 voices are not the answer, either.

    Hello

Microsoft does not speech engines provide additional (voice), but there are a number of third-party products that support the new Microsoft Speech API

Please use your favorite search engine and browse for voice of Star trek, which can be used for this purpose.

Note: Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be resolved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Text-to-speech audio continues to play for any other slide - but the current slide is suspended from the output

    Captivate 8.0.1.242 - Windows 7 64 bit - swf format.

I have this weird error. I have the audio text to speech in my classes. I don't want the PlayBar of captivate. So I have buttons in the content to navigate forward. Each slide is hanging out and waiting for the user to click on the buttons navigate forward. My sound works for the first 2 slides text. Otherwise said, he plays as in the timeline and then stops. Waiting for the user to click on the button before you go to the next slide and the same routine. But after 2 blades, it will not stop. He continues to play the whole audio other slides in the whole cptx. But the current slide is suspended. So I hear everything supposed to be played for other slides, but all I see is a slide.

When I click on the next slide, he begins to play the audio where it supposed to start for the current slide and plays again all other text in audio from the other slides. This is repeated again and again. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Check the calendar for audio clips, increase the duration of the slide a little and make sure that there is a small space before and after the clip.

Sorry wanted to add a screenshot, but this feature is currently disabled on this forum.

  • Stopping text-to-speech

I use boxes to highlight the different components of an object. I need to place breaks (a few seconds would be nice) in the text to speech to enable highlighting to do before moving on to the next component. I tried adding spaces in the text, replacing the commas by periods which helped a little but not quite enough. Suggestions?

The first thing that comes to mind is to edit the audio created by Kate or Paul.  In the audio track, insert silence where you want a pause for some time you need.

    I hope this helps.

  • Text-to-speech - Paul/Kate won't say a Word

I added text to speech to a presentation, I'm working on. Normally, if Paul/Kate said not a word correctly I'll play with it a bit until it looks right. However, I have a word they WILL decide if it is in itself, but when it is in a sentence they spell the word. The word is 'Internal' and here is the sentence "' to be considered as an internal auditor, an employee will be:" "

    Thank you

    Megan

    Hi Megan,

Ive tried the same sentence here without problem.  The only thing I can think to suggest is try to remove the plugs.  I had problems where they manipulate words in capitals differently sometimes.

It's not much, but it is worth it!  If I happen to think of anything else I'll check.

    Good luck!

  • Is it possible to add the text to speech (TTS) for slidelets individual or other objects 'pop-up '?

    Hi all

This question is somewhat related to this issue: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/525525?tstart=0

So now, I have a slide with several slidelets "pop-up". Finally I intend to add human speech at each of these slidelets (under the tab Audio caption text), but at the moment (for demonstration purposes), I would like to use the text-to-speech (TTS).

The only type of TTS option that seems to be allowed is at the level of the slide, but not inside a text caption... This seems odd.

Speaking of weird, speech management feature and Audio seem all too weird or very limited features. The management of the speech seems to only read the text inserted by entering the slide. No other options are available.

I know that I could save the speech as individual wave files and insert them through the Audio tab, but... It then, I thought that it would be an easier way to use the TTS in Captivate 4.

    Can I buy a clue?

    Thank you!

    Hi Shawn

TTS works at the level of the slide. Best bet is to insert a blank slide. Add notes. Convert to speech. Then, find and rename the file to preserve you. Rinse and repeat as needed until all TTS was created. Now, they should be in the library where you can freely assign them to everything that you need.
