Where is Windows Media center in Windows 7 Professional?

Simple as that.

I have a Lenovo thinkpad E420 with no Windows Media center 64 bit laptop. No, not at all.
Not in the program folder files or in the search bar or anywhere at all.
Where can I download / get somewhere so I can use it?

If you have Windows 7 N Edition (available in some parts of Europe) then it does not come with some features, including Windows Media Center. Please see:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/What-is-Windows-7-N-edition .

If you do not have a Windows 7 N edition you can download the pack of media features of:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16546 .

If you have a normal life (not a N) edition of Windows 7, you should see it here:

Start-> all programs-> Windows Media Center.

If it is not there then try to turn it on:

1. click on Start (lower-left) and then on Control Panel.

2. click on programs and features.

3. on the left side of the screen, click on 'Windows turn features on or off".

4. find the entry called multimedia & tick the box next to it.

(also, expand it and make sure that Windows Media Center is checked)

5. click on OK.

6 reset.

If the multimedia box is already checked, uncheck the box , click OK, restart, then do steps 1-6 above.

If the above fails, try to find the executable file:

1. open Windows Explorer. (not Internet Explorer)

2. in the left pane, navigate to:

C:\Windows\ehome

Search for the file (if its there) ehshell.exe

3. right click on ehshell.exe and create a shortcut/pine on the tasks/pine bar in the Start Menu.

Maybe someone can answer this question of resettlement. I have a computer that has a bad hard drive. It came with Windows xp media center 2005. I can replace it with Windows xp home or professional using the product id for media center 2005. As I understand it, Media center is really just professional xp that comes with media Center software installed on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where in Windows 7 Professional to release the program is not to turn on and start any computer starts?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
You can go to start-> click on all programs-> select start. You can find all the programs that run at startup, here. Deleting will stop them from running at startup.
You can also open the System Configuration to disable all programs running during startup. Go to start-> type msconfig.exe-> press ENTER. IF UAC prompts, click Yes. Opens the System Configuration window. Now go to the Startup tab and disable all applications (to remove the tick) you want to stop from running at startup. Click on apply and then OK. Restart the PC, once done.
  • Where can I download Media Center for Windows XP?

    Original title: Media center download?

I know it's possible to use the extension function to be able to watch media on your computer through your xbox to a TV, but where do you find the media center download so that you can start the whole process?

In addition, I'm not interested by the upgrade to Windows 7, including the download site insists on the fact that I have to do, first of all.

You need XP Media Center Edition, or you need to update. There is no download
    Add Media Center to XP.

    original title: Hi Please help

I am trying to install windows media Center on my laptop but carnt find any where to go. all I want to do is use with my xbox any help guys, thanks

    Hi, Matt.
You can't 'install' Media Center - either you have it, or you don't have.
Media Center is included in all versions of Windows 7 Home Premium on-site (except for certain markets (Europe and the Korea come to mind), where it is not included by default (but there is a pack for this.))
If you have the Starter or Home Basic, you must make an Express upgrade to Home Premium (or higher).

  • Cannot find where to manually add TV stations in Windows Media Center

    Hello

I use Windows Media Center with Windows 7 to watch live tv with a tv tuner. It works fine except there is a television station that I know is broadcast here that there's no signal with an auto-tune. I want to manually add this channel, but all the instructions about how to manually add channels are older versions of windows and I can't find where I manually add channels in WMC in Win7. Is someone can you please tell me how I do?

    Thank you.

According to the Guide will be: -.

    Edit channels

    Add missing channels

    Edit favorite queues

I will suggest you to re-run the whole upward.

  • Is there a file where are stored the data pause & rewind live TV in Windows Media Center?

Is there a file where are stored the data pause & rewind live TV in Windows Media Center? More to the point - how can I save the time shift buffer in WMC?

I would like to know if it is possible to find the data that Windows Media Center is to store during her watch TV Online. I don't speak data WMC stores by itself to allow the use of the function of pause & rewind live TV, how to find files that you have saved yourself by pressing the Red record button.

For example, I often live TV playing on the computer in the background while I do something else. Can I see or hear a brief fact/clip/segment of interest that flashes by and I think, ' I wish I had recorded that. " If I go back to the bit I wanted to capture and hit record, it will not capture the part I want, it will start recording from the point, the program has achieved in real time.

Does anyone know where the actual data of the TV are kept so that I can retrieve these clips that interest me, but were never recorded by me manually? I found the "TempRec" in the folder "Recorded TV" - anyone know how to convert this video (if indeed it is the location where you store temporary data for pause & rewind live TV)?

If not, is it possible to enable a feature in WMC, which automatically starts the recording of TV channels as soon as you go to them? This way I can record everything, then just cut all the scenes of interest using Movie Maker. If not, are there other Win7 compatible programs that will do this?

    Thank you.

Apparently, there is a way to achieve the goal.

A nice gentleman from the Germany wrote dll that create a "time-shift buffer recording" add-in for WindowsMedia Center (for Vista and XP only) which can be found at:

    http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/p/3...83.aspx#162083

For Windows 7, there would currently be via a 3rd party of program, i.e. PowerCinema 6, which records from any point in the time shift buffer zone - I don't know why Microsoft has not also incorporated this feature into WMC for have other programs third 3rd (including EyeTV for the Mac).

Unfortunately, suggestions from another forum to change file extensions in .tmp .dvr-ms TempSBE and double-click on the file to read the file of time lag in WMC, does not work in Windows 7 x 64 (the message in this forum has been regarding the Vista x 64), however, I have not tried with other versions of Windows - I would like to know if anyone has had some luck using this method.

Even if it had worked, I think I would have always preferred the usability and features of a program that does the job for me, like Power Cinema - damage, it could not have been WMC. What do you think?

    Thank you.

  • I have windows 7 and have lost my media center where I can load the replacement software is there a place to download the windows 7 media center.

WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD A COPY OF WINDOWS 7 MEDIA CENTER FOR MY OPERATING SYSTEM WINDOWS 7?

You can't download unless you run Windows 7N.  Media Center is an essential component of all other editions of Windows 7.  But you can unload and then reload.

Unload 1 Media Center - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn turn Windows features on or off, characteristic of the media, Media Center clear box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

2 reload Media Center - Control Panel, programs and features, [left] turn Windows features on or off, multimedia functions, the Media Center of the value checkbox, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

At the end of this, you will actually have a new installation of Media Center.

    Hello

How did you uninstall the Media Center?

Are you sure that you has just simply deleted the shortcut that opens the Media Center?

    Try the first next.

In the enter the location of the item box, copy / paste the following text.

    %windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe

    Click Next.

    Click Finish.

This should result in a Media Center shortcut on the desktop. Double-click this shortcut to open Media Center.

If this does not work, continue.

    2. Media Center is a feature that can be installed directly from your computer.

Open Control Panel / programs and features.

As soon as the list fills, extend the functionality of media and place a check in the element of Windows Media Center .

    Hello

Microsoft is not delivered WMC with 8 Windows including Windows 8 Pro. Windows 8 Pro, too late to get a free copy now, you buy. For normal Windows 8, you must pay to go to Pro first, then pay for WMC.

    Kind regards.

  • Where can I get Windows media center xp

Is there a way I can download Windows Media Center for XP, I can't find it on the Microsoft site.

Windows Media Center is a feature within Windows and you can not download it separately. If your edition of Windows comes with media center, then you might find it in the menu start otherwise, you must run edition as Windows Media Center, included in this document, which is Windows XP Media Edition.

However, you might consider getting a Windows 7 that is running Windows Media Center or other third-party tools.
