Why, after conversion to DNG, image is darker

Hello

I can not post in the appropriate point, but this assumes that the closest.

When I use Adobe DNG converter to convert RAW, the end result seems to be abt a stop more dark that compare to jpg. So when I discovered in the bridge, I display the jpg (which is brighter) and to open the DNG format. When I use LR to convert, it seems even darker.

Question:

(1) why like this?

(2) the beach Dynamics tilt to the left and find themselves one stop less on strengths?

(3) just at the moment where I intend to shoot the photo in RAW only, I just have to keep shooting RAW + Jpg (just for viewing pleasure).

TKS.

RAW, including DNG images images can be darker in Camera Raw processing in camera is not recognized by Camera Raw. In camera treatment will be JPEGs, but raw images need a much more important treatment. Camera Raw does not read most of the settings of the camera.

All DNG images taken end of the zoom wide angle have very pronounced vignetting - appear as there is a very long visor on.

This seems to happen just during the process of conversion to DNG format.
At the moment I can't treat Raw images in my CS3 and I have to use the substantial software Canon gives at least with the camera

    Thank you

Probably what is happening, is that the DNG file tries to use DNG 1.3 accent extensions, that will not recognize CS3.

I suggest try "Custom DNG compatibility", backwards Version 1.1 and linear (demosaiced) for compatibility settings.

  • Why iphoto and facetime video images appear dark?

    Hi all!

I have the Macbook Pro 15 inch, late 2013, OS X 10.9.4 retina. My iphoto images appear dark that they normally used to look like on my Macbook. Even when I do facetime, video seems to be dark. I first thought that there could be some problems of substantive lighthing. I tried to adjust the camera in every possible angle. If, by chance, the facetime video seems to be normal after adjustments, it will disappear in a few seconds and the video will get darker still.

Anyone know how to fix this? Your help would be very appreciated.

    Thank you very much!

General representation is dark as well?

The brightness keys are easy to handle 'accidentally '.

  • RAW of Nikon D810 images appear darker after importation develop mode - why?

    Hello

I have a problem with the LR. I shoot in raw, and after copying the files on my pc, I choose several pictures and import them into LR. After this step, I want to continue with the mode of development. Subsequently the following problem: the image in the develop mode has changed - it's much darker and the colors aren't the samet. Even if I change the example flat camera mode I get the same resuslt as the original raw file. I do not understand the problem - maybe you can help me?

    Thanks in advance

    Camera: Nikon D 810

    LR version 5.7

The color space, running on the development module and the library module is completely indifferent to what looks like your image. It is not serious, and the difference is extremely subtle and really visible only on the screens of the range very high-end. In addition, color space in develop is not prophotoRGB, it is once again a linear gamma with primary prophotoRGB but space called MelissaRGB which is quite different, not important for this.

He must know one thing more to diagnose your problem: when you return to the library, the images are dark or do they go back to the Lite version? If so, you are dealing with several possibilities. The first is as already mentioned a monitor profile. You should re - calibrate your monitor with hardware calibration. If you don't have that, test that possibility by assigning the sRGB profile to your monitor in the monitor properties pane. If this fixes it, you must get a puck of calibration to calibrate your monitor, the problem is caused by a bad monitor profile that has been installed by an update of the system. These are very common on the windows platform and even if other applications behave normally, that is the question.

Second option is that your graphics card is not dealing with well GPU acceleration and omitting the color management. Test by going in the Lightroom preferences, selecting the tab performance and power of the graphics card acceleration off. Restart Lightroom and check. (update: I see that you are on LR 5.7: this option does not exist here so ignore this notice)

If none of these fix the problem, and after that you spent to develop, the image is too dark in the library, that several other issues could occur. First is that you may have set a default value for the camera. Make sure the settings are zero on your images after importation. They could be zero if you apply a preset to the importation, or when you set a default development setting. Reset it by going to preferences-> presets, and then click 'reset all settings default development. " You see the change of the image when you go in develop because the library, firstly the jpeg preview the generated camera is shown and only when you are going to develop is the actual raw image get rendered by Lightroom.

Another issue that could happen is that you use dynamic lighting on your camera modes. Nikon calls these active D-lighting. You must completely disable those. What the camera does when you have those active is to underexpose the image by a stop or two and then highlights the tag of the raw image with an indicator that shows the Nikon software to increase exposure compensation and make an HDR processing on the image to trigger shadows and bring down. Lightroom can not read these tags and just makes the image from raw data (which are underexposed!). In the library first see you the jpeg in-camera image and that the image was made by the camera using the HDR technique. You are better expose properly and leaving these modes if you want raw data of highest quality.

  • All guess why numbered chapters that increment OK in FM11 not after conversion to the FM12?

All guess why numbered chapters that increment OK in FM11 not after conversion to the FM12?

I run FrameMaker unstructured 12 and FrameMaker 11 (for use with only the heritage project files) on a Win7 PC. The chapters in my FM11 file book for guide increment a new product user normally in FM11, but something bad, after you save the formatted FM 12 FM 11 project files.
    The book file includes:
    -Product Guide Cover.fm
    -Product GuideTOC.fm
    -Product GuideLOF.fm (list of Figures)
    -Product GuideLOT.fm (list of Tables)
-Product GuideContent.fm (chapters 1-10) - book files dialing properties: Chapter 1 (digital)
-Product GuideIX.fm (Index) (Chapter 11) - book files dialing properties: Chapter 2 (digital)

Note: The chapter headings (e.g. 1 - Introduction, 2 - Specifications and so on) in the product GuideContent.fm and GuideIX.fm files are in the format paragraph Designer like: (the Auto-Numbering Format enabled) H: < n + > \t
However, when I update the book, the Index seems formatted as Chapter 1 instead of Chapter 11. It seems that the conversion to FM 12 messed autodial in the product file GuideIX.fm, so that the only way to increment the value would be to manually update the building blocks in the file to H: IX.fm \t H: < n + > < n = 11 > \t (which I do not). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you - Randall basin

    Hi Ran,

It's for anyone finding the subject, given that you and I come to chat with a screen sharing...

After watching your files, the "chapter number" are really only section numbers, with all 10 of them in the same file FM. That means that really impossible to use the <$chapnum>for many of them and the index.

In most cases, you would be still able to use the Fm 5.0 manually counting technique paragraphs title with an indicator of the series and the counter (e.g. H:), but you also have a number of positions within blocks of text not included in the stream.

This seems to be your address update index position correctly.

So, the only way to get the appropriate index number is to control it manually. You have at least 3 choices:

    1. Enter it manually
    2. Manually enter the AutoNumber box for the index
    3. Enter it manually in the numbering section of the dialing properties tab.

However, all these things are extra bandages on top of your existing bandages, and I prefer to see the problems resolved instead of the 3 'Hacks' I have provided.

For the sake of closure, please check the question if this seems to be specific for you.

Sorry for the bad news (ish)!

  • Why after "placing" an image PS CC CC ID can I open in PS CC (while still in ID) to make

Why after "placing" a PS CC CC ID image can't open in PS CC (while remaining in the ID) to make corrections by double clicking and holding the ALT key?

    Hello

For Photoshop CC to open on double-click on an image (with the ALT key), by default Photoshop CC should be the default application to open the image file. Right-click on the image file on your system and select information. In the "open with:" field select CC Photoshop and click the button change just below of this.

Now, try double clicking an image (with the ALT key) placed in InDesign, it should open in Photoshop. Please let me know if it works for you or not.

  • Significant RAF files in LR CC with simultaneous conversion to DNG problem

In LR, I like the CC this bug:

Last Sunday (26.06.2016), I imported some (Format RAW files of my Fujifilm X - E2) - RAF to LR with simultaneous conversation in DNG (I do this procedure for a long time). Shortly after the LR imort showed in the upper right of the preview of exclamation. A click on this issue showed the message, by reading this picture LR had a problem. The second last import of the RAF with DNG-conversation (4 weeks) works well. The conversation of CR2 files to DNG makes no problems al the time.

The function "Test-files DNG" shows "Invalid format DNG-Files.

In Photoshop I CC can´t open this DNG files too.

At the same time (May / June 2016) I imported a large number of files (from my Canon EOS 60 d) CR2 with DNG-Conversation and no problem occurred.

    Versions:

    LR CC 2015.6 [1078672], CameraRAW 9.6; E2-firmware Fujifilm X: 4.00; Graphics card GeForce GTS 250/PCIe/SSE2, 341.95 driver Version; OS: Win7 Pro 64 bit.

How to restore images to DNG files? Export is impossible!

Please excuse my bad English, I'm German, I use a German Version LR and I re-translated messages program.

This is the latest version of Adobe Camera RAW that's the problem. I also converted all my Fuji X - E2 RAF files to DNG and with version 6-2015/LR points 6 and PS and bridge with the update of ACR 9.6 none of them are visible.

    So, you have up to 2015 LR/6 - 5.1

Look here for the steps, and instead to install the 2015/6 - 1.1 update installs the 5.1 update.

How do I roll back to Lightroom 2015.1.1 or Lightroom 6.1.1? Lightroom Queen

  • Why microsoft recommends the thin images for zero touch?

According to this article from Microsoft Academy in the training of Windows 7 (http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dd919178.aspx?ITPID=win7dtp):

"MDT 2010 supports imaging thin and thick. Thin Imaging refers to the Windows image that Microsoft provides without customizing the installation (or install a lightly customize image), then using automation to install applications, drivers, and updates on each client computer during deployment. Thick Imaging refers to the customization of an image with applications, drivers, and updates before deployment. Microsoft recommends using thin images, like doing so helps reduce the cost and time of maintenance. MDT 2010 makes using thin images with the simple strategy large Zero Touch Deployment: in fact, this strategy advocates thin images. »

I do not understand how to install applications, drivers & updates AFTER DEPLOYMENT of an image to 500 computers + is more effective than the creation of a single image that already has everything that bundled in and done with it. The images would take more time to load, but then what? If this is zero contact, why do go back and press again ON all machines? I think the answer is that you can push all of the Configuration Manager 2007 R2 after that fine image has been deployed. But what's more effective than any group in a thick image?

Why I can't mount images in InDesign from the 'images' as I did from "iPhoto" before?

Browser multimedia lla only will show you photos from your photo library, if the library is your system library.  Check in Photos preferences > general, if 'use as a Photo library system' is UO greyedcrossed, as it should be.

and the application must be fully compatible with El Capitan, or it can only show the iPhoto and Aperture libraries.  You may need to update your copy of inDesign. I don't know, if there is a newer version.

Yes, you can remove the file from the imported image, if you have imported the image as managed.  IE preferences in ave Photos settled on "import: copy items to the photo library" being the default.

  • Error after conversion or the copy of the label

Not to mention that nodes of "cloned" property that disappears, seemingly solved in Labview 2012 (SP1), I have also a problem with the bewilderment of labels after conversions or copying.

The problem occurs at least in the following situation:

    1. There is a property of a control node.

    2. the control is defined in a 'Type Def'.

    3. a label is attached on the right of the property node.

    4. the location of the label in the 'Type' Def is different (top-left, for example).

    5. to create the bug or the source is converted (for example Labview 2011 2012 Labview) or the property node is copied between sources.

    6. the label of the node property converted/copied now has moved to the top, above the property node.

In Labview 2012 the solution for "cloned" property disappears nodes fixes also bug of bewilderment label for nodes of property.

Moving labels can be quite annoying when you have relatively compact code in of many multiple stacked sequences and event handlers.

I also had a separate problem with the location of the label once the font of labels is changed / converted, but have not yet checked if this still happens in 2012 of Labview.
