Why am I getting "not responding" on all my applications?

I bought a new laptop from hp pavilion in October and got the Win7 update with it. It worked fine until last week when he began to gel and applications run now slow and "unresponsive". I can't get anything done on my computer. I use another computer just to type this message. Help, please! I'm not a professional, but I need my computer back!

    Get "Not responding" after each keystroke when you use law on the.  I see the message and then after about 10-15 seconds, if you press the tab key.  Literally, it happens after every key stroke.  I've never had this happen before.  My laptop has Windows 8.  At this rate, it'll take a week to complete my tax return.

    Admittedly, I am a novice to Premiere Pro CS4 on Windows Vista.  I have an ATI Radeon HD display driver 4350 (and I've just updated the driver).  I have two problems: 1) any video I try to import and play gets stuck on the 1st frame and play not at all... format does not matter and 2) when I drag something down to the timeline, all calendar items disappear and the scene goes black until I go the file-> save when it all reappears as if by magic.  It gives me grey hair and I'm too young for gray hair!  Any ideas?

    For the Nikon images, you will need the MJPEG CODEC. MainConcept and Morganare two of the most popular, but you probably have one on the disk utility of Nikon. It can be installed with the driver, or can be installed with a utility program.

    I tried a few things, including uninstalling but in vain.
    It doesn't matter what the site is... I'm trying to close or open the pages and not get "reponding."

    Your computer may be too slow or your computer is too crap-ware

    What are the specifications of your computer?

    Try disabling some extensions, plugins in the Firefox addons section
    You can get there by typing on: addons in the URL bar

    You can also try uninstalling some software of useless crap, your computer slows down.
    Of course, before you uninstall software, not sure, always google and see if it is important to your computer/system.

  • Windows 7, 64 bit, on Gateway NV53: it's painfully slow, I get "not responding" almost every time I do anything online or not.

    I have this computer perhaps only six months, and until about 2 weeks ago, everything was super fast.  Now, though, even typing has a period.  It's okay if I'm not online, even programs like Word give me messages don't respondents not all the time.  When I run the "Performance Monitor" it tells me that there are a lot of programs that run automatically start-up, but it does not say those who don't actually must be performed initially to the top.  I'm afraid to change that because I don't really know what is function of each program.  Can someone help me?

    My hoptmail account seems to have been infiltrated by something which repeatedly sent emails to all of my contacts with a link to a site of "meds online" (I got this message from a friend about five months ago and he sent it for a reason, so I clicked on the link in the email, but since then I delete them without opening them in my Inbox of thought).

    The other is that it seems that Windows Defender does not open, and the computer itself says that there is no antivirus installed when there is.

    I did a restore of the system about 2 weeks ago because I was just at a loss, this has stopped these "notice of delivery failure" to come, so I think that my email stopped sending these messages, but it does again now.  My antivirus (Kasperski) says that there are no viruses.
