With a USB flash drive, it takes seconds to minutes, depending on how much is moved, which is usually much less to install on the windows drive. It's because flash player must physically move the files on the disk, there is no index to put it as on a fixed drive. In addition the only way to move is to copy in memory, and then write it to the new location. This means that each overflow bit must go through the USB connection (which is thousands of times slower than SATA cable on the real hard disk), and since then he has to go twice (in and out), it is even half as slow as new. There is no transfer between the hard drive and the flash player I know. What this means for me, it is the index or take more time to rewrite, or files are actually moved. What I'm asking is if Windows is somehow data transfer (even if it's the index) drive flash disk, then moving them backwards, slowing things down.
