  DuckDuckGo is a search engine that will not follow the terms you're looking for. Once you click on a result of the search and go to the site, however, the website may choose to leave a cookie on your device for monitoring purposes. DuckDuckGo would have no control over that.

  The thing is, this does not really the site to track you, only the site is asked not to do so. Shows the target site adds based on your IP address, so the only way to stop it completely targeted list adds, is to install an anti-ad or use a VPN/proxy to spoof your IP address.

  I am writing this question so I can post the answer for everyone with this problem.

  I'll post the answer here, just in case I have a problem trying to answer my own question:

  If you have recently installed Avast antivirus software you can anti-ad without adding an icon to Firefox and installed without knowing that you have it installed. (like me!)

  If you have Avast, click on its icon (a number of green, amber circle thing) in the top right of Firefox.

  When the Avast window opens, at the bottom, it should say 'My Avast' and 'Settings' click 'Settings' in the new window, locate the option that says ad Block of default trace, and then click to remove the check mark. Click on the "Save" button.

  I hope this helps someone else like me who was confused by it for a while.

  Hi, you can try an adblocker as Adblock Plus, but maybe it's that you have picked up some malware, so if this is not successful, you can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

  I'm sorry you have a problem that might be caused by Firefox. You have probably installed something that made the adware on the Mac, which has plagued Firefox and Safari not.

  As a general rule, if the e-mail address policy uses the color black then the person is in your address book, if in red then the person is not in the address book.

  However, having said that, there is a bug in version 31 + black, which can change the font color red even if in the address book.
  This bug has been reported.
