Why Lightroom has continued to import my photos?

Lightroom has ceased to import photos to any source that I use, reader of cards, direct from the camera, external hard drive or from the hard drive of computers!

He repeats to me only that the "file can not be read!" I've had no problems so far. Why?

Please notify.

Hi Edwind,

It seems a problem with the permissions on the destination folder,

Please try to change the Destination folder, or give it to read and write permissions on the folder where you want to import the images.

Kind regards

Tanuj

  • Why do I need to import existing photos?

All my devices are in the same Apple ID, sync all of them via iCloud photo library.

Backups are via iTunes to OS X.

Recently, I made the order and again sorted my photos of OS X.

    I 4920 pictures altogether.

Now I see on the Photos of OSX I need to import new photos that are already in my iPhone.

Why do I need to import existing photos? Why say that are just 4129 photos?

    Thank you!

Why do I need to import existing photos?

If you use iCloud photo library to keep your photo library in sync, do not import the photos again in the iPhone using a USB connection.

I suspect, you have set the settings > Photos & camera on your iPhone for iCloud photo library to 'optimize storage '.

This means that your original photos, full resolution are in iCloud and not on your iPhone at all.  Only if you browse your photos or change them to share, your iPhone will download new copies of the originals to iCloud for editing. Photos on your Mac does not recognize them as duplicates, because this local copies have different file names. You could import duplicates.

Skip the Import Panel in Photos when your iPhone is connected. Don't import anything, unless you have some new photos on the iPhone, that could still download in iCloud photo Library, because the iPhone couldn't go online.

  • Why Lightroom empty of auto import folder?

Why Lightroom empty auto import folder?

This does not help me because I looking for an FTP folder receive LR files and retrieved the. You had technology just to take files, but without dump or change the (md5 is the even after importation)

    -Auto Translate (Basic language EN)-

Why Lightroom empty the auto import folder?

It doesn't suits me because - I am looking at what a FTP folder have files and LR to get back them. Had you a technique pour just take files but without gender or modifier of the (the md5 are no longer the same after importation)

    Ok!
But why you changed the file LR?
We cannot tell the source folder and destination is the same (which we can) and does not copy the files constantly identical (it is not very logical)

  • Why Lightroom 6.2 stop import when it reaches 1800 photos?

I've been using LR since LR4, but on a Windows laptop and never had difficulty in importing the photos. I bought a MacBook Pro and have 11K photos in a folder "Images" with 30 + folders inside the images folder in the Finder. When I try to import files and photos in LR6.2 it works perfectly until 1800 photos have been imported in their different folders and then LR stop importation. This has happened several times and I can not understand how to fix it.

6.2 Lightroom's import and export major problems. I took the suggestion of uninstalling Lightroom and going back to 6.1.1 Adobe. Finally, everything works as it should.

  • After using the converter DNG, Lightroom always recognize and import my photos...

I just started shooting with a Sony A6000 and could not import the photos because of compatibility issues with my current version of lightroom (4.4).  After having read about it on the forums I found that I had to download LR5 or use the DNG Converter and then import into LR.  I opted for the difficulty of the problem free and downloaded (compatible with Sony A6000) v8.4 DNG Converter.  Now, after you convert my photos freshly slaughtered in DNG, I tried to import them into Lightroom with the copy and move functions (because I like the Organization of the files I put in place by LR) but every time I find myself with a dialog box saying "Unable to move a file at the location requested."  In the import window, LR showed clearly previews of images. During the conversion to DNG, I assured photos are compatible with Camera RAW v7.1 and later (my LR a v7.4) and I tried the two built-in Fast Load Data and not... Also, I use a MacBook Pro OS X 10.9 if that makes a difference.  Am I missing something? I don't see what the problem is... All I want to do is to organize and edit my new pictures of my new camera on LR without having to pay an extra $80 for the new LR just because I have a new camera...

This could be a permissions problem, especially if you use a Mac computer. Make sure that you have write permissions for the folder you are trying to import.

  • Why Lightroom 6 continually freezes with 10 windows recently.

Although it is completely happy with 5 Lightroom, I upgraded to 6 only because my new camera compact Olympus TG-4 did not had been supported in 5. For the past weeks 6 Lightroom has been almost completely useless in terms of being able to change anything before, it crashes and I had to go back to the previous version to have a usable software. Hoping that it is not a costly mistake?

    Hi xnalanx

Adding to the suggestion of markl . Please save (using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom |) Back up a catalog) your catalog once before resetting the preferences of Lightroom. Refer to retrieve the catalog and images after resetting preferences

  • Lightroom has ceased to import images.

I get the following note: certain import operations have not been executed.

Do not copy a file at the location requested.

One of the plausible reasons of why this happened are that you have accidentally changed the directory where you will be copy photos to. So you must go to the import screen, and see with your own eyes what directory is selected it... do not assume that you were always import to folder ABC, so its still in train import to folder ABC... see with your own eyeballs whose importation is supposed to be copied. Then go back to what used to be, or set the permissions on this folder you saw just that Lightroom was trying to copy some pictures of you.

  • Lightroom 3 will not import raw photo files

I have Lightroom 3 running on an older machine (Windows Vista). I used a Canon EOS Rebel XS camera and recently upgraded to a Canon Rebel EOS T5. I managed to import my Rebel XS raw files in Lightroom, but it won't let me import the raw files of the rebellious T5. I updated Lightroom 3 day, but I simply have to get a new more updated version of Lightroom? If so, which?

Your new device needs at least 5.4 of Lightroom. Adobe sells more Lightroom 5. You can switch to Lightroom 6, or subscribe to the creative cloud, or you can download the free DNG Converter and create DNG copies that you can use with the software you have.

  • Lightroom CC Trying ├a import 'New' Photos and they are greyed out and say that they have already been imported, how to make their importation?

Upgraded to Lightroom CC a few months ago and have had major problems with importation, never had any problems before. Since the upgrade I import a map is fine, next card says pictures have already been imported and that they are grayed out. I know for a fact that I matter not yet. So frustrating! Someone please help! I even turned off the 'don't do not import suspected duplicates' box and again, it will not let add me or COPY. I will attach a screenshot.Screen Shot 2015-12-05 at 9.34.04 PM.png

Yes, I went straight from my card. I always did it that way. Not until the upgrade did I start having issues. I ended up having to download hard disk, rename and then import it. Quite unfortunate that they changed this in the upgrade, it was nice not having to move in all directions and could go straight to LR. Thank you very much for the help!

  • Error «Lightroom has met problems playing this photo»

I got this message on my last two downloads on about 20% of my images. It won't let me not then use develop module. Anyone know why I suddenly started having or how to fix?

Thanks for your reply. I checked the read/write and a bunch of other things and it still doesn't work. Finally called Apple and after working my way to the third person, a senior technician, it seems I solved the problem. Technology Apple said that the Mac operating system works well with large files by using NTFS. It happens that I'm shooting Raw with a Nikon D800, which produces around 50 MB files. The Apple guy suggested changing the format NTFS to ExFat. Of course, this may include reformatting my hard drives and go and come all the pictures between my main drive and a backup drive, as I formatted with the new ExFat. Has taken over 4 hours for each copy, but ultimately, I loaded a few hundreds on remote drives with the new format without problem. I never say for sure it won't have to give me more trouble but hundreds is a good test and - happy days are here again. The remote control also leads work on my Windows computer using this format.

  • Why Lightroom indicates that most of my photos are missing

most of the pictures are missing in Lightroom

The reason is that you have moved, renamed or deleted the pictures (or the folders that contain them) outside of Lightroom. On Windows computers, it can also happen if you disconnect an external hard drive, then plug in again and Windows assigns a different drive letter.

The solution is given here: Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

  • Hello I am importing my photos tonight shot a wedding this afternoon and now Lightroom ceased to import, and at this point, I got the message "could not copy file to the requested location (424).

Lightroom has ceased to import suddenly - not my image folder, nor my CF cards - can anyone help please

This is a permissions issue when you do not have permission read & write in the destination folder when you copy photos to. Change your permissions

  • Lightroom import my photos.

    Screenshot 2016-07-10 08.20.05.png

After years and 100000 of of the images imported into Lightroom, he ceased to import my photos (for my macbook pro) yesterday. I insert my lexar SD card, lightroom responds by locating the map (Nikon D600) as usual, but no thumb does not appear, and "import" is not an option-just "Cancel".  Images can be imported to my selection, so I know they're there, but lightroom usually accept if I drag them over to Lightroom from dropbox or office either.  There is no error message.  I guess the solution is a simple click somewhere, but I don't know where - help someone?

Right-click on 'Change file name' and make sure that Destination is selected and developed as Geoff said, that a valid destination directory is selected.
