• Cannot change the Taskschd.msc settings because the settings are grayed out. In administrator mode.

  I opened the taskschd.msc and went to microsoft for WMC tasks to prevent upgrade and computer taken off mode 'sleep'.  When I got there, the Conditions screen was grey and I couldn't remove the alarm setting.  I'm in the administrator access code.  Windows 7 fully updated.  Thank you

  This problem may occur if the Task Scheduler service is not running or the Task Scheduler-related registry keys are corrupt.

  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:
  Please make sure that Task Scheduler service runs and defined as automatic. Please follow these steps:

  a. Click Start, type services.msc in the start search box and press ENTER.

  b. right click on Task Scheduler , and then click on Properties.

  c. make sure that the Startup type is Automatic and the service status is running.

  d. If not, select the Startup type to Automatic and click on 'Start'.

  e. click apply and ok.

  If this does not help, use method 2.

  Method 2:
  Remove all the entries under the taskcache subkey in the registry editor, and check. Please follow these steps:

  a. Click Start, type regedit in the start search box and press ENTER.

  b. in the registry editor, navigate to the following registry subkey and then delete all entries under it.

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache

  c. close the registry editor and restart the computer.

  3. you experience this with all the screen savers in the list?

  4. what version of Windows 7 operating system is installed on your computer?

  5. you are the administrator of your computer?

  6. your computer is under any active field?

  Go to start > run and type regedit. The Registry Editor opens.

  Find the following registry key:

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop

  Look for the entry that says SCRNSAVE. EXE and the clear key.

  Yesterday, I downloaded the updates from Microsoft Update. I use Vista 64 bit Home Premium on a Toshiba laptop.

  I don't see the network icon in the taskbar.

  When I right click on the taskbar, go to properties, Notification area tab: I see that Volume, network and power are grayed out. I can't select them. The only I can change is the clock to turn on or off.

  Is there something I can do? No one else has used the laptop. Thank you.

  It works again. Sometimes this happens and I don't know why.

  I used my computer. I turned it off and now the missing things are back.

  Hi, I am subscribed recently to Apple music that supposedly gives you access to anything whatsoever in the iTunes music store, but I came across a large number of titles by artists who are grayed out.  Not in my main library, but in iTunes Radio, and if I add tracks from my library, they are still grayed out.

  I active iCloud and I disconnected and returned but that only fixed not.

  Tracks greyed out are not available for release and cannot be added to my music. I presume that the holders of these titles gave no permission to use Apple.

  In the meantime, follow the steps below.
   
  Step 1:
   
  There might be a possibility of a conflict of software of third party causing the problem to occur. Test/work around this problem, you can check if the problem persists in aclean boot State.
   
  Step 2:
   
  If the clean boot does not resolve the problem, perform the System Restore as Lorien has pointed out to the point where the .jpg files were not intoxicated.

  I have several 'connections' in my SQL Developer 4.0.1.14, and most of them are "grayed out". A couple are bold' no black.

  Greyed out connections work well. I can click one, work, (re) connect, test, run SQL without any problem.

  Is there a (new) reason why SQL Developer would present some of my connections as grayed out?

  OK, the connections have colors.

  For each connection you select, RMC (right-click) and choose Properties. On the pane of the properties of the connection, as well as the password and other properties there is a widget called "color of connection." Clicking on the widget to change/select the color.

  The connection color widget is to the immediate right of the password field.

  You will need to choose "Save" after you (re) set the color of a connection.

  By clicking on "off" this connection will show you the new color of connection in the Connections pane. I don't know yet how designate the presentation as "BOLD" for a color of the provided connection.

  Don't forget to choose "Save".

  In my role, I'm running Win 7 images from an outside source, change them to our org and create new images to our specifications. Recently, I received a new image of the provider. They forced THE 10 on the image, so the tool IEM that I previously used to define proxies no longer exists. My client needs Firefox as default browser. When I try to configure the proxy settings in the connection settings page, all items are grayed out. Topic: config watch network.proxy.type is (0) and locks. I modified prefs.js a different value, but it never works. I think there was a registry or group policy that prevents this from working. Any ideas? Thank you, in advance.
