  Nikon Transfer is the culprit. You may not use this software to download your images. Try to import them directly into Lightroom using Lightroom.

  You import images directly from an SD card or you have used a utility for image transfer to copy the pictures on the desktop, and then import you into Lightroom.

  If so, then take a few shots at random and import images directly from the SD card.

  To get direct support D610, you must at least 5.3 Lightroom. If you don't want to update to Lightroom, you can get support for the camera the LR 4 by translating your NEF files to DNG using free Adobe dng converter.

  I recently bought a Nikon D5 and have nothing else had problems with reading and opening the files.  I have Photoshop cS6 and had 5 of Lightroom.  I contacted adobe when I couldn't even import my files even after doing all the updates.  They advised me to buy Lightroom 6 upgrade and I have more questions.  So I did and I was able to import my raw files from the D5 but still I can't open them in Photoshop anyway.

  After much research I found that I have to convert each file to a DNG (frustrating ONE - if he will in bulk.)  Believe me, I tried different ways).  Then, once it is converted, I can open it in photoshop.

  Still more frustrating is that now even my files between my d800 can't be opened in photoshop without first be converted to DNG one by one.  It wasn't a problem until I downloaded Lightroom 6.  Can someone help me please?  Why can't I simply open the raw between d800 and d5 as usual files.  I don't want to convert you to DNG.  I downloaded all the updates for both programs.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled lightroom 6.  All advice is appreciated.  It is a puzzle.

  D5 has been initially supported by Camera Raw 9.5 (= cloud Photoshop only) and Lightroom 6.5 (or the Cloud version)

  The D800 was first supported by Camera Raw 7.1 (CS6) and Lightroom 4.1.

  So you should have no problem with Raw D800 files in Photoshop CS6 or Lightroom 6 and you will be able to open D5 Raw with Lightroom (but), the files provided that you upgrade to version 6.5 (not previous versions).

  You will never be able to open Raw D5 with Photoshop CS6 files. Use Lightroom 6.5 for this then save as DNG. Then, open the DNG in CS6.

  Or join the Cloud and open Raw D5 files in Photoshop CC without converting them to DNG.

  The 7200 Nikon requires version 9.0 of ACR, which is only available in PSE13 with PSE13.1 update.

• CS4 does not open the NAVE of Nikon D7000 files; Is there a DNC that opens to them?

  I have CS4 and light room 2

  Apparently there is no Camera Raw update for new NAVE of Nikon D7000 for CS4 files.

  So I downloaded the Adobe Digital negative converter Verson 6.3.0.79 which is compatible with Camera Raw 5.4 or later.

  Using this DNC, when I do step 1, "select the images to convert" I get the message "no items don't match your search.  It is apparently not files NAVE achievements the D7000.

  Is there an another DNC that will open and convert the D7000 NEF files?

  I just bought the d7000 yesterday and had the same problem with cs4. I downloaded the adobe DNG Converter and selected the whole folder where the raw files (I was unable to select individual images) and it worked fine. He treated the files one by one with the new name (without the pricetag CS5 $ 500 at the moment). The DNG files in bridge and psd. Maybe try to select the folder?  Good luck.

  The D600 is made sound supported by Lightroom 4.2/camera Rw 7.2 and higher.  Then updgrading 4 Lightroom or Photoshop CS6 will provide full support for the D600. Alternatively, you can download the free 7.2 or later version DNG Converter and use to convert your NEF files to DNG format that is already supported by Lightroom 3.x

  You can spend to Lr4 Lr3 on your old or new machine has no activation code to stop. You'll probbaly prompted for the serial number for Lr3 on the new machine to prove that an upgrade is legitimate. Buy Photoshop CS6 then upgrading the new machine that is also possible, but you need either the DVD for CS5 or have already installed on the new machine. Basically, the CS6 needs to see a copy of CS5 is available for installation or already on the computer.

  I have a PC with windows 7 premium. IHAVE been opening of Nikon D3 NEF files without difficulty in CS3.

  Do not open the Nikon NEF files 7100 and I get an error message.

  Any help will be appreciated. I tried to download the 6.4 DNG as suggested by one of the articles, but have had no success by downloading.

  I can't open files NAVE of Nikon D4 in LR 4.1 RC2 on a Mac OSX 10.7.4. Same problem with Photoshop CS 6 Beta with ACR and DNG Converter 7 7.1. The files will be open on a clip, even if the camera is on apples list of supported devices. What happens here?

  Have you used any kind of Nikon software with these files? I saw some files of a D4 which would not open in Lightroom or Photoshop, and the problem was caused when they were treated with an older version of Nikon Transfer.

  If it's something like "the file could not be read", it means generally that you do not have the appropriate permissions on the file that you are importing to. be sure that you have permissions to read and write on the folder.

  Alternatively, you can import to another folder where you do not have the necessary permissions.

  I use Windows 10, Photoshop CC 2015, and I have a Nikon D7100. Camera Raw opens my images very well. If you used the Nikon software to upload your images to the device, which could be the problem. There is something wrong with your end. Adobe has done what is necessary to support your camera raw files. What version of Camera Raw?
