WiFi Compatible?

I am looking to buy a Sony Tablet S for my academic needs. The University I attend requires a wireless card that supports "IEEE 802. 11 a, b or g standard (compatible Wi - Fi)". The Sony Tablet has a Wireless N Wi - Fi (802.11b/g/n). Is this a game? I would not buy and know I can't connect to the web - basically it would be a waste of money. ): I already sent my support of technology University, but decided to cover my bases and ask others.

Because the connection, sure you will be a network b or g and the Tablet is compatible with b, g or n - it connect with the stronger connection that would be g.

  • Question about upgrade WiFi + Bluetooth on Satellite P20

    Hello community,
I want to improve the used Satellite, I had recently. Unfortunately, I can't find a few options I want on the Toshiba site.

Which modules WiFi and Bluetooth do I need for the Satellite P20 and where I could buy those in Germany?

    TIA
    Christopher

    Hello Christopher

At first, I have to say that the Satellite P20 is portable very nice. I got it 3 years ago. I had Satellite P20 304 and I've updated the WLAN and drive optical drive with DVD-RAM.

WIFI compatible cards for Notebooks this model are:
    PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802. 11b) and
    PA3273U-2MPC (Atheros 802.11ab).

According to the specification upgrade BT is not possible. Anyway can you please post exact description of model P20 (P20 - xxx).

    Bye and good luck!

  • Pavilion dv7-4180us: dv7-4180us wifi upgrade

My dv7-4180us has a Broadcom Minipci wifi card bgn and gets only 72 Mbps on my home network. I am running agn + ac on my network. I understand that the wifi options are limited by the white list in the BIOS. I've probably lap by going with a USB adapter, but I would have preferred an intern. I have a Dell E6500 with Intel Centrino 5100 card that connects to 150-200 Mbit/s and I would be happy with this speed on the dv7. Which wifi compatible cards for my dv7 will give you the best performance of wifi? I was going to get the Intel Centrino 1000, but it tops out at 150 Mbps, which is also claimed max for the Broadcom card I already have.

In fact, my computer BIOS is dated in 2011.

Looks like my best bet is one of them:

    Intel Centrino 1000 802.11b/g/n WLAN module 593530-001

    4322 Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module 582564-001

The two are alleged to be 802.11n MIMO 1 x 2 with connection speed up to 300 Mbps.

I just bought the Intel 1000 for $6.00 + free shipping. DV7-4000 series system a traction. Even if this does not work I am not much.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • HP ProBook s 4540: update WiFi on ProBook s 4540

    Hello!

I have the HP ProBook s 4540 with Ralink RT3290 wifi. It does not work like I think it should.

The wifi router is located at 1 meter from the laptop. But the connection is lost once every few hours. And the Internet speed is unstable.

Please see graphs of speedtest for wifi download speed:

    http://i.imgur.com/7Gd9eE2.jpg

    http://i.imgur.com/HWvgEc8.jpg

I also have the Asus laptop, Samsung smartphone and iPhone - their internet wifi connection is stable and much faster to Download / Upload speed. So, I conclude that the problem is in the HP ProBook wifi module.

When I use the Ethernet cable - I get a more stable connection. Take a look: http://i.imgur.com/H7GTjLd.jpg

What I tried to solve the problem:

I checked how antenas are connected to the wifi module - there are 2 wires and the connection is good.

I got my drivers Ralink RT3290 to 5.0.5.0.

I upgraded the drivers to the latest version of the Mediatek website.

I installed the latest drivers from the HP site.

    Nothing has worked

I plan to fix this module wifi or just change. Can you recommend a better wifi? I think I have the whitelist of wifis compatible on my ProBook, but I don't know about you.

    Thank you!

  • try to install the wifi adapter but NM say no

As title, attempts to revive the old Dell with XP sp3 for shop. Installed linksys with speedbooster wusb546s ver2. Nice, its got a long enough cord to set out the window and get home signals. However said NM may not add because "other software" controlling the adapter? all titles, disabling is only average

I went and got a Dlink dwa - 131, but same problem except it doenst get the signal to be less than the higher office setting in the window, (another option no).

I have a router wrt120n, Network Magic (I know is no longer supported) DSL connection. Have IPAD, IPOD, BluRay player, HP laptop w/7 64 bit wifi, Compac with XP sp3 (connected to the router), Dell laptop w/vista 32 wifi, HP wireless printer. try adding Dell with XPsp3, but by adding adapters with NM software conflicts?

I tried gel software adapter and loading drivers-a connect but as noted only with network wide open (if software was not involved)

Y at - it a simple way to add a computer by using the adapter usb wifi-compatible with SL? Ive never had a problem adding some things, but this thing adapter has just left me speechless because of the software. Ive looked around but can't find any real info.

    Mark

Possible that the conflict is with the wireless utilities installed on the computer and the utility that supports the Network Magic software. But I know, you should be able to add a device, no matter what the utility is used.  Especially for laptops dell, they have on them dell wlan card utility. For laptops windows, they also have a wireless utility windows-based network called wireless zero configuration. Usually for computers dell laptops, the dell wireless utility is the default utility is enabled. I suggest to disable the dell wireless utility. To do: right-click on the icon at the bottom right of the screen dell, click dell utility open, uncheck the let this tool manage your wireless settings, then click on apply and then OK. Once the utility has been disabled, try to connect to your network using the windows wireless (this link will guide you). Once connected to your network by using the windows utility, try adding the computer then the Network Magic software.

  • If you turn off your WiFi router is still sending wireless signals?

I have the wrt54g router and if you set the 'disabled' wireless settings which means that WiFi is disabled, which stops the router actually send wireless signals?

I guess my question is do the WiFi compatible routers send wireless signals even if you "turn off" the WiFi option on your router? Thank you.

The WRT54G is an active wireless router. If you select off in the wireless tab then the router will not any signal wireless broadcast.

  • WRT610N: portable computers cannot connect to the 5 Ghz wireless network!

    Hello

I have a Linksys WRT610N (material v1) router, and I have configured settings wireless for the range of 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz

wireless network, but the problem is that my laptop (wifi compatible n) detects the 2.4 Ghz network, but is NOT the

5 Ghz network.  I have no idea what the problem could be :-(

    Here is my setup :

(5 Ghz) wireless network settings :

    network mode: only wireless-n

    network name (SSID): WRT610WiFi-N

channel width: auto (20 or 40 Mhz)

    broad channel: auto (DFS)

    standard channel: auto (DFS)

    SSID broadcast: enabled

(2.4 Ghz) wireless network settings :

network mode: Wireless - g only

    network name (SSID): WRT610WiFi-G

    channel width: only 20 Mhz

    broad channel: auto

    standard channel: auto

    SSID broadcast: enabled

Security on the two mode is 'WPA2-personal' and "WPA-TKIP or WPA2-AES" encryption

But my laptop do the WRT610WiFi-G and not the other :-(

Currently, I am a bit disappointed as you can understand, but I hope someone here can

give me a solution for this problem...

    Best regards

    Chris.

    Fix. Should be a/b/g/n

  • Cannot associate the Access Point

I just bought a WUSB54GSC wireless adapter and try to connect to my wireless router, a WRT54GS2, but it gives me a message saying "can't associate with the Access Point.  I tried several times and tried to reconfigure the WEP key, just in case I screwed up somehow and get this message.  I tried the network unsecured neighbor (signal low, of course) and he gave me the same, too.

    What I know:

    (1) the problem is not with any part of my network, either from my lines (DSL), (ADSL) modem or a router, because I use a wired network right now with no problems and several other devices in my house with built-in WiFi to connect wireless to the same router with the Setup even very well.

    (2) the problem is not that I messed up the WEP key.  I rechecked it multiplies and even went to the router via an Ethernet cable to check what I entered compared to what he shows me, and they have a perfect match.  In addition, as previously stated, various WiFi compatible devices in my house using the same WEP key to connect properly.

So, I don't understand why I can't connect what either.

First go to device manage and check if the adapter is installed correctly or not... ? If it is installed correctly then, right-click on the utility of linksys (green square) on the toolbar and click on 'Use Windows to configure' and click on 'yes '...

Now, if you have Windows XP... Click Start and goto the control panel and double-click on network connections, right click wireless network connection and click View available wireless networks and select your wireless network and click on connect... Now, it will give you the opportunity to put the network/wep key, make sure that you enter the correct network key and confirm... It will connect...

If you have Windows Vista... Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > click on connect to a network, select your wireless network and click on connect, it should ask for your key/password network, enter the network and password correct key and click on connect... It needs to connect... Once you're connected, you must restart the computer, it needs to connect to the Internet...

Also try to change the wireless channel of the router to 11-2, 462 GHz and then try again...

  • Wireless routers? Is anything the most RECENT/FASTER coming out soon?

    Hello

I am looking to buy a new router. We do a lot of games on the internet and streaming video in a large House, usually at the same time with multiple devices. I bought a Cisco EA6500 almost 2 years ago and it seems to slow down when several people are online. I have Cox cable for a provider. I just wanted to know if something new will come out soon because I don't want to buy something and have a more recent/better product introduced two weeks later.  I'm looking at the Linksys WRT1900AC or the EA9200 of AC3200/model Linksys. Anyone can tell me which camera would be best for my situation or do I watch something different? I like the Smart Wi - Fi feature, that I currently have, so I would stay with something that has the same functionality.

Any comments would be appreciated, and I thank you for your help.

    Hello

Are all your AC receivers WiFi compatible?

The best of those who is the WRT1900AC which should help to your problems of range some. Consider
Add the RE6500 Range Extender (shown in a text of presentation of advertising on the next page). Of course I
range extender would also help the EA6500.

Scroll to the bottom of the page for comparisons.
    http://store.Linksys.com/Linksys-WRT1900AC-open-source-wireless-Router_stcVVproductId158014980VVcatId551966VVviewprod.htm

4 external antennas and 600 vs 450 (your EA6500 existing) flow on 2.4 should help.
Both have the same band of 5.0 spec'd 1.3 where AC.

Flow speed surely decreases rapidly with distance. AC is much better at distance
that N. N wifi real world is 50-150 Mbps, while the AC is 2.5 times N real world.

Check with your Internet provider to see the best specifications, you can expect.

Run OOKLA on all computers. Use a wire on most large number and run it again
compare the results. (Of course run several times and averaged the results.)

Here's a good review of N vs AC.

    I hope this helps.

  • Lightning to SD card reader is not compatible with iPad air wifi

Apple online store said that the lightning to SD card reader is compatible with iPad air wifi. Having just bought an and I connected it tells me that it is not compatible.  Air wifi iPad is on 8.4.1.  Is it me or I have the wrong item, or is there a 'procedure' I'm missing?  Any help would be appreciated.

Update iOS io 9.2.1 as the new device (it has been updated by end of 2015) should be fine then.

  • What are the cards WiFi are Equium A60-692-compatible?

    Hi all
I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692 (model: PSA67E-001001EN). It has a wifi, lid at the rear for a wifi card, but I can't seem to find a list of anywhere where wifi cards are compatible. Someone would be able to provide me with a list of compatible cards!

Some people said that the Toshiba Equium A60-692 does not support a Wifi but as there is a sign for one at the back I guess that it is wifi ready! In the connectivity for the Athros Wizard, he says also there a 1394 connection, but it does not have a card.

I found a few on ebay and I want to know if they will be compatible:

    (1) Toshiba 802. 11a / g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card - Netzwerkkarte, Mini PCI - 802. 11 b, 802. 11A, 802. 11 g, PA3298U-1MPC

    (2) Toshiba WLAN Mini PCI PA3300U-1MPC 54 megabit 802.11 g/b

    (3) TOSHIBA WLAN MINI PCI 54 Mbps 802. 11a / b PA3273U-1MPC

    (4) Toshiba PA3300U-2MPC card WiFi Kit 802.11 g 54 Mbps NEU

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your responses!

    Hello

If s said Atheros has a connection 1394 so I guess this means that the firewire.
The IEEE 1394 mean the firewire connection available on this laptop.

Anyway, the WiFi network is not available and if you want to use WLan technology on your laptop if you use the WLAN USB key. It is the simplest way to connect to the wireless LAN.

  • T61 cards compatible WiFi which are not Intel 4965BG

    Hi all

I was faced with a major random BSOD problem with Windows 8 x 64 and Intel WiFi 4965BG card in my FrankenPad of 7661 T61. I checked this is the driver for WiFi using WinDbg. analyze the feature.

Intel seems to not recognize the problem as many other people have reported the same issue on their forums, and there is no validated solutions.

I am considering just pulling off the WiFi card and replacing it with another model if possible as no driver hacks or the updated version solves the problem either.

Anyone know a decent non-Intel but compatible card WiFi which will work with the antenna in the T61 unit?

Considering an Atheros AR5418 can I catch an outside of ebay.

Any suggestions/help appreciated before I'll slice and cut my T61 (again).

FYI, I have disabled whitelist Middleton BIOS

Lenovo abgn (Atheros-chipped), FRU 42T 0825 or 42T 0827. My favorite of genuine ThinkPad offers for this generation.
