Windows 10 download and install

Original title: me, again.

I asked for help with the Windows 10 download to my computer that currently works with Windows 7. I received a response to help. The answer tells me to choose the current version of Windows on my computer where I want to upgrade to Windows 10.  When I just select Windows 7 in the list than my current version, several times, I repeatedly received a message regarding the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8, Windows 10 is not mentioned. When all this will be clustered around get it and actually tell me precisely how to upgrade to Windows 7 to Windows 10 That's all I have ever asked repeatedly, but my question remains unanswered. I continue to be frustrated by attempts to help making that further erode my confidence in Microsoft. My question is understood? This is the only and specifically with regard to the upgrade of Windows 7 directly to Windows 10!

Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

then

then

  • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
  • Reboot several times, and then try again.
  • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
  • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
  • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
  • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
  • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
  • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
  • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
  • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

    Good afternoon

I recently bought this satellite laptop computer pro on the package was both windows vista Home premium. I also decided to change fnsi at the same time. The provider also gives Norton Firewall Virus Intrusion etc etc.

Microsoft does not validate my system but after that 2 hours on the phone with them and a system restore, they have agreed that I had bought some valid stuff and that fixed it.
Now it seems windows updates icon appears ask me do I want to download and install.

I do but every time, it fails, there are about 11 things that fail, no installation. I rang Microsoft today that they made one or tow things say but PC Toshiba's fault.

Please, anyone had this happen to them and got the solution (s)?
Please take into consideration that my knowledge of pc can be written on the back of a postage stamp. Do like me simple.

    Thank you

Did you try to disable the firewall or uninstall Norton? Norton may block the Internet connection.

If the provider uses a Proxy Server, you need to enter the proxy in Internet Explorer connection settings.

  • Windows is preventing me to download and install games on computer.

Hidden object games are blocked by Windows saying that they are corrupted files or missing something. Whenever I get a somewhat different message. The games that I downloaded and installed previously are too blocked. I'm pretty much computer illiterate so I can't be more specific, but I called so-called experts and they have not been able to solve this problem. As I have not had any problems for a year, that I do not understand why it started to happen. I bought a new computer with Windows 7 and the same thing is happening on it.  Other types of computer games do not do this.

    Maria,
It is certainly a strange situation.  Let us know the results of trying to install it on your other computer.  If possible try my suggestion to download it from a PC and a completely different location and put it on a disk or usb drive.  Copy it to your PC, and then try to install it.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

Updates automatically downloaded cannot be reused. Suggest you open the link "View update history" of the icon of the Windows Update control panel and write updates have been downloaded and installed.
Then download and save them from the Microsoft Download Center .
Just enter the number in the field to Search All Download Center and then click on the "magnifying glass" to start the search.

I tried to download and install this update for 3 weeks. The update said successful but always asks me to install. I made a fix - it below is the report. Still not fixed. As this seems to be an imprtant update, I really need this resolved. Thanks for your help. Alicetsa.

    Hello

KB2604110 is a update of security for .NET Framework 3.0.

You should probably follow the instructions below and post back with the results:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_xp-windows_update/security-updates-kb2656407-and-kb2604110-not/c58cb8ad-770e-41cd-8D28-5875aecc2353

Alternatively, you can remove .NET Framework 3.0 through Add/Remove programs and install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 instead: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25150

  • Why I can't download and install windows xp SP3?

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2. My internet security program is Norton Antivirus online, provided by my ISP, Qwest... When I try to upgrade to SP3, my computer is getting ready for download, begins to check the download, then goes back to prepare for the download. Can I get a failure to download, with Ox80070005 error code I tried to download and install from the center of update and from the Microsoft Download Center, with the same results. Anyone can solve this for me, PLEEEEEEASE!  My computer is an old PC HP Pavilion Media Center Desktop, model #m370n. I connect to the internet through a gateway of Qwest. Model # Actiontec PK5000 modem. Please let know me if more information is needed. Thank you.

[1] your solutions solved my problems!

[2] but, I still wonder if it is advisable to remove the update section of the section add/remove from the Control Panel, already installed updates if updates do not apply to the version and service pack of windows I use!

[3].. .when I was running Norton security, I kept getting messages from the use of the high memory for many programs I was running. So I guess what I'm asking is, how can I safely free up memory on my drive if I am at or near the limit of memory?

A1. Excellent! And kind of you, too much work.

A2. Well, this would be a "double edge" => If you uninstall an older update (in order to "save space") and then find that you need to uninstall a more recent update that replaced (replaced) the former for a reason, you wouldn't be able to do.

That being said, see this discussion archived in another forum (where I also "hanging out") for a few suggestions related to dispose of "unnecessary updates...

    XP SP3: Post Installation Cleanup
       http://aumha.NET/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=33827

A3. Let me ask you this: are seeing you this "high memory use" alerts now?

Speaking of which, you reinstall Norton Internet Security Online of Qwest or have you installed Microsoft Security Essentials to step #6 of my previous answer?

Remember that the available memory is not necessarily related to the amount of available disk space. If you want to read / learn more, see the section of the optimization of your computer here: http://aumha.org/win5/articles.htm

Very generally speaking, running Disk Cleanup every moment & should be all you need to do (especially if you no longer have an installed Norton application). Refer to the section of the free disk space up to here: http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx
