Windows 2008 R2 as operating system supported for vCenter Server?
Hi you all, experts
In http://www.VMware.com/PDF/vSphere4/R40/vsp_compatibility_matrix.PDF it says that Windows 2008 R2 is supported as the operating system on the server vCenter.
In http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1022137 R2 is not mentioned.
Then...
Is R2 platform support?
I read the correct documentation that SQL 2008 Express is NOT supported as vCenter database?
Are questions about wheter it works - it is questions about knowledge if it is supported.
Concerning
André
Hello.
In http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r40/vsp_compatibility_matrix.pdf , it says that Windows 2008 R2 is supported as the operating system on the server vCenter Server.
R2 is not mentioned in http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1022137 .
Then...
Is R2 platform support?
What is listed in the compatibility matrix is correct, then Yes.
I read the correct documentation that SQL 2008 Express is NOT supported as vCenter database?
Yes. Use you it as a database, or just use the SQL SERVER 2005 Express that comes with vCenter?
Good luck!

Operating systems supported for view connection Server 5.0
We have updated our current connection to 5.0 servers, but they run on Windows 2003 (64-bit). 5.0 view documentation indicates that the login Server 5.0 view must run on Windows 2003 R2 (32-bit) or Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit).
Our current connection servers are working fine on Windows 2003 (64-bit), so I wonder if the documentation is correct. I think that its more likely that Version 5.0 require a x 64 Windows.
Connection to the server may run on other variants of the OS, but you only need to run it on one of the supported operating systems.
Also note that for the PCoIP gateway features, the connection to the server or Security Server must be running that Server 2008 R2 64-bit.

How to enable the Windows 2008 R2 guest operating systems on Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter edition host
Sorry, I realize it is there much written and blogged about activation and license but I still cannot grasp exactly what to do, please can you help me.
I have a host running windows 2008 R2, datacenter edition. The 2008 datacenter edition license allows any number of windows OS to run on this host (will run for most 2008R3 standard edition) so I guess (I hope correctly) that I don't need to buy more licenses.
So my question is, when these comments of the virtual machines are created, how can I activate them? What product key should be used? I have a product key for data center edition, but it does not work "the product key you entered will not work with this edition of windows server 2008 R2.
Thank you if you can let me know if there is a way (or ways) for the operating systems Windows Server activated running on datacenter edition.
Best regards
Jules

the broker to view connections 4.1 isn't able to run on windows server 2008 and R2.
the view composer 4.1 (2.x) does not run on a Server 2008 R2 as it is supported only on OSes x32bit or Server 2008 X 64. (Yes, know hacks fixs it, but it's still not supported)
Does anyone know if versjons the broker for the connections and composer v4.5 can run om Windows server 2008 R2 or 2008?
Guess the composer runs om X 64 for Vsphere 4.1 is x 64 only?
see you soon,
Frode.
I can tell you that the composer can run on X 64 because it is the only way to install vCenter now and that the connection brokers can be 2008 R2.

Windows 7 supports for vcenter server 4.1
Vcenter 4.1 supports any flavor of windows 7? In addition, if you purchased a copy of vcenter 4.0 you buy the upgrade to 4.1 or is it a free upgrade?
Hello
vCenter Server cannot be installed on Windows 7. It is supported on Win 2003, Win XP and Win 2008.
For a detailed list of the supported operating systems, please see page # 16 of the http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r40/vsp_compatibility_matrix.pdf

Operating system support for installed components
vmware view agent can be installed in Windows Server 2003.
IM reading the View Manager Administration Guide and say that view agent can be installed in virtual and physical
Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Terminal Server
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Server Terminal Server SP2
but I don't really understand, I should have set up the role of the server terminal server?
Thank you
You add the Terminal Server server role and install the agent.
In this way, you can add a pool of Terminal Server Services in the display manager and connect to a TS session through the view manager.
You will NOT be able to use Windows Server 2003 as a virtual office. This only works with Windows XP, Vista and Win7.

Can not find Workstation 11 documents that specify host for Linux operating system support
I had all the versions of the workstation since version 3 or 4, and in all cases, Workstation ran on a Linux OS support. For now, I have both Debian and Red Hat Linux workstations and prefer to stay with Red Hat for my work of VMware Workstation. However I find no actual docs for workstation 11 who tell me what rev of Red Hat Linux is supported. Also, I don't see the real support as available contracts more. Once upon a time, you could buy support workstation. I already have systems of vSphere 5.5 to work and they have full support, but I can't support 7 x 24 production on my computer it seems. in any case, what is the actual supported Red Hat Linux tricks? 6.6 worm or am I stuck goes Red Hat 7?
Thanks to anyone who really knows.
response to me here:
After a bunch of research, I get to a page that tells me to get the compatibility guide:
VMware Workstation 11 Documentation Centre
Who gets finally me:
http://www.VMware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php
Which is useless for workstation because it lists only the products of ESXi.
Always to research... and I get this:
http://www.VMware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=software
Nope... It does not help... I select "Host OS" and is told to go elsewhere:
The host operating system compatibility information has been moved to the following location:
http://KB.VMware.com/kb/2100429
Host operating system support information (2100429)
Goal
Supported host operating system data are removed from the Compatibility Guide VMware (VCG) to other articles of the basis of knowledge (KBs).This article KB then told me to go somewhere else to:Operating systems supported for VMware Workstation guests (2088579)
your da!The answer is that 11 workstations is supported on some types of Linux and the most notable are:Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 (note: 7 RHEL is horrible)The answer is therefore a flat NO WAY for Debian or one of its close brothers. Strictly big business Linux here.Nice hide details in seventeen deep research. -
That's what I get when I go down, load the program on my computer
You run an operating system supporting Illustrator is no longer. See the system requirements for a complete list of the supported platforms.
I'm stuck
Thank you

I guess you are trying to download from the Adobe web site. If you are using WIndows Vista/XP or Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Install Adobe Application Manager and update and connect.
It will automatically detect the version of Illustrator that is compatible with your computer and the same list.
Then you can go ahead and install the same.
You can download the Adobe application manager using link below:
Windows:
http://download.adobe.com/pub/Adobe/creativesuite/CC/Win/ApplicationManager9.0_all.exe
Mac:

I don't know if you need this information or not but any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

The message indicates that your system does not neet the system requirements for the version of Illustrator, you are trying to use. If this is the latest version of Vista is probably too old to meet the requirements. In any case, here is a link to the system requirements for all versions of Illustrator... choose the one that you try to use and compare their needs to your system to see where you come up short...

Please contact HP in your country / region via the Portal Support HP's worldwide to the order of HP recovery disks.

I read your post with a lot of attention. There seems to be some confusion on your part. I want to arrempt in order to clarify the information so that a good solution might be found for your needs.
The Epson LQ-680 is a matrix printer with a print head 24 pins. It is designed to use a parallel port. This means that its computer interface conforms to the IEEE 1284 specification. This is often referred to as a Centronics parallel port. Series No.
Thus, because your computer does not have a port for a direct connection, you must use a parallel to USB device.
Not all of these devices are supported printers. Please check the specifications of the device that you use to connect your USB printer and confirm that it supports the printers. It is preferable that it supports bidirectional printing through the device. If it is not the case, getting the arrangements put in place for this printer could be a problem.
Driver for printer:
=================
You did not mention whether your machine is a laptop or computer desk/workstration. If the latter, and if she will allow to install PCI cards or PCI-E, install a parallel port card would work more simply.
If you want other help, please let us know the make and model of the parallel to USB device.
