  I've updated to the latest version of flash player 11.4.402.287 today, the two versions of activex or plugin appear in flash Manager. However, I'm unable to play youtube flash videos, the bar at the top shows "Install missing plugin" I repeated the installation process, it does not appear to complete successfully, but even once when trying to play youtube videos, the "install missing plugin appears" and the videos will not play.

  I have also installed and re installed the last version of firefox today, thought that can help, seem to have the same problem. The flash player is not listed in the plugin adds on the list. I don't know what else to do, or what could be the problem.

  I would appreciate any advice, please

• Program opens but does not appear on the screens

  One of my progrmas opens but it does not display it shows up on top of the taskbar and indicates that running on the Task Manager, but the program does not appear on my screen. I can fly over the icon on the task bar and it will show a smaller version of what should be on my screen, if I click on it nothing happens.

  What version of windows are you running? If Win7, try running in compatibility mode for win xp...

• Personal certificate said sucessfully restored after importation, but does not appear on the list of certificates.

  Select the cert, enter the password, and then I get this message: successfully restored your security certificates and the private key.
  However the cert does not appear on my list of certs, and I can't access the site requiring this cert.

  CERT works on my win box 7 with firefox 17.0.1

  Try renaming the file cert8.db in the Firefox profile folder in cert8.db.old or remove the cert8.db file to remove the intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored.

  If it helped to solve the problem, then you can delete the renamed file cert8.db.old.
  
  Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the file cert8.db.old to cert8.db to restore previous intermediary certificates.
  
  Firefox automatically records the intermediate certificates when you visit Web sites that send such a certificate.

  If that didn't help then remove or rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) as well.

  I have occasionally to store a pdf file, I received as an attachment to e-mail and discover that the file does not appear in a search, even if it is in the directory, and I have no problem opening it. I can solve the problem by renaming the file, and then rename it again, back to what it was originally.

  I decided that the file name does not begin with special characters, and the status bits seem normal. But I have two files, using the same naming format, and one of them shows up in a search, the other is not the case.

  If someone can explain to me what is happening here, I can probably came up with a remedy on mine. I'm just confused as to what is the cause.

• DVD-ROM drive works, but does not appear in 'Computer' and discs can be played

  I totally messed up my DVD - ROM drive. After graduating the famous blue screen of death once yesterday and once today, I thought that my PC settings reset would fix the problem. Then, I pressed F2 when my computer starts and resets all settings. Unforunately, this is something serious to my DVD - ROM drive. Initially, it did not work, so I opened my computer and somehow got it works. But now, it does not detect the disks I insert in there. I get the message "no DVD - ROM drive found."

  Anyone know if it's fixable? I hope I don't have to take my computer somewhere for repair. Unforunately, I don't know the make or model of the hard drive. My the PC features that I think are important are listed below.

• Analog microphone does not work - SoundMAX does not appear in the Panel

  I can't get my mic to work.  I know not if I get SoundMAX appears in the control panel I could double click above and make the necessary adjustments for the computer to recognize my micro - such as the use of the microphone Setup Wizard.  Because I can not access the dialog/window to SoundMAX, is there another way to troubleshoot my microphone?  The Jack on the back of the computer is pink and I tired a pink and green microphone connector.  The funny thing is that if I put my output-power of my mp3 player jack in pink computer microphone hole, I am able to save.

  A few details: I have SoundMAX digital 5.12.1.7000 audio installed and it works and activate properly according to Device Manager.  However, in the "Audio Devices" folder there is no exe file that I could double-click and open.  The other machine I have an exe file in the folder that allows me to double click it and open the window to SoundMAX interface.  I have 'micro' checked (as opposed to the line-in) and it isn't mutted.  I unchecked Microphone Boost. My computer is a Dell Optiplex GX280 running Windows XP.

  I experienced this same problem during the installation of Windows on the machine of a friend running XP and soundmax drivers. When I first installed the audio drivers, I used Device Manager and he gave the location of the folder where the drivers were stored, allowing it to manage the configuration. The drivers have been installed, but the control panel and the options were not. Upon restart, the microphone did not work.

  I then went back and reinstalled the drivers by browsing to the folder source driver and by launching the setup.exe file. This time, the soundmax Control Panel was installed and the microphone began to work. Perhaps, you encounter the same problem.

  My advice is to download the soundmax drivers and run the setup.exe file and see how it works. It looks like the rest of your settings are OK.

• Workgroup computers connected but does not appear in the network folder

  I got number of connected computers on my working group, but for the moment, only 3 of 8 computers appear in my record of working group in my network.

  When I search the names of each computer on the 'Search' from the menu 'Start', they appear and seem to be connected as I am able to access the shared folders.

  The name of the computer, I searched (let's call it 'Computer 1') appears on the left menu under 'Network' with 3 computers that are obviously connected but when I click on network and go into the network, computer folder 1 is still not visible and only 3 computers are indicated.

  How can I solve this problem?
