  I recently bought a new PC with Windows 8 and discovered that patches will not download and install via Windows Update.  I can see there are patches and patches to install but when I click on the button install updates, downloads to hang and I finally shut down my system.  I tried several of the recommended solution, I found online without success.  Is there a problem with Windows 8, application of automatic updates?

  I get the popup "update" whenever I connect to my computer and it gives me an error message but no code error. The update starts at 0% and stays there indefinitely.

  By quitting their stand alone suite (CS5, 6 etc) and later support for it, Adobe has FORCED me to use their Cloud Creative suite subscription. Now, all of a sudden the updates will not download and install and Adobe wants me to follow a set RIDICULOUSLY long and complicated steps to solve the problem? It's a complete and absolute nonsense!

  Frankly, I'm so frustrated that I am very close to spearhead a national campaign to educate these users 3.4 million on the negligence of Adobe supported because it's visitors!

  I'm working on a Windows 7 Professional computer that has the following problems:

  The wired network icon has a red X, but I can still connect to the internet with IE, Chrome and Firefox.

  Windows Update does not work just like Windows Defender or Security Essentials.

  I followed many trails including Malwarebytes, ccleaner, rootkiller and other assorted programs.  Most don't update the definitions.

  I also tried it in safe mode without service and with everything turned on the normal start.

  I can't upgrade to Windows 10 because the computer has some programs for his company, who have no compatible version of Windows 10.

  A friend of mine gave me a Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 with 32-bit of Windows 7 Starter (installed at the factory date: 01/11/10). 1 GB of RAM, processor 1.66 Ghz I duel performed a factory reset so I could start with a "new" computer When he was asked to implement W7 for the "first time" I put W7 to recommended settings. For the next few days, everything seemed like it was working fine. Updates are automatically downloaded and installed, until W7 SP1 has been installed. Now, Windows Update is stuck on "checking for updates". WU is always fixed to automatically download and install, but when I opened WU I see the message "check updates for your computer". When I click on the button control updates WU is stuck updates. I left this process continues for 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Dell Mini didn't stop, go to sleep, or put into hibernation, but WU is to always check the updates. The details of the error say Code 646. I was try and do not install this update for a month. Other updates are installed automatically without any problem. I was also unable to download iTunes and Adobe updates. During the download, a window pop up that says "Error in installation" and the program closes. I don't know if these issues are related to a problem with a previous update, which I downloaded from Windows Update?

• Windows 7 complete edition; Windows Update does not work, cannot install SP1 failed to install Security Essentials, ect...

  I have a laptop Alienware M17x R2 that was running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. Recently, the hard drive crashed. I replaced the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system using my recovery disks.
  Loading Windows 7 Ultimate without SP1 recovery disks. I find that I can not get Windows Update in order to run - it says that "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running." You may have to restart your computer. »
  I rebooted the computer several times, without success. When I go into Services, the Windows Update Service is running and the value "automatic (delayed start). Remote procedure call is also started. The Background Intelligent Transfer Service is currently not started and is set to "Manual".

  I ran Fixit of Windows Update and Windows Update diagnosis, without result. The diagnosis of WU came up with two questions: "registration for the Service is missing or corrupt - fixed" and "the recent updates - fixed installation problems.

  I also downloaded the SP1 from the Microsoft Download site and tried to install it. Installation failed with error code "E_UNEXPECTED (0x8000ffff).

  I tried to run the system update readiness tool, but it has also failed with an error "0xc8000247."

  I also tried to download and install Microsoft Security Essentials. Which is also impossible to install with an error code '0x8004FF91 '.

• HP 2000 Windows 8.1 update will not download

  Hey everybody!

  I've been using Windows 8 and love it! I've seen some people talk the Windows 8.1 and it seems that everything I don't like Win8 are set in point 8.1 of Windows! Good news!

  Problem is when I go to the Windows store, click overview of Windows Update, I then click on the download button, I get this: http://www.pasteall.org/pic/61640

  It also gives a similar message if poster whenever I try to download and install the 28 updates it says that I have waiting for me. This makes no sense. Any ideas what may be the cause?

  One last thing I noticed is that whenever I start up my system, and if I try to launch my IE 8 once the desktop screen has developed, it takes a lot of time for the browser to open. Also I see an alert "your computer may be at risk. No firewall is enabled".» But this alert fires currently the browser appears. I can see the alert even if I don't do anything after desktop screen comes up and it shuts down on himself after a few times.

• Windows 7 - Windows update will not download or install.

  I just bought a new computer and activated windows 7 on it, but when I tried to update with windows update (updated 31) nothing happends. I get no error message it just says: "download updates...". "forever.

  All the recommended settings on windows update and the windows firewall is enabled, and my connection is working and its 10 Mbps down.

  Does anyone have an idea what I should do?

  2. were you able to install the updates before?

  I suggest that you try the methods below to resolve this issue.

  Method 1:

  I suggest that you disable the Anti Virus program and disable the firewall and check if you are able to do the update of Windows.

  Note: Please make sure that you enable the antivirus software and firewalls after the test to keep your computer protected.

  Method 2:

  Reset Internet Explorer components:

• Vista updates does not download error messaages

  I have an automatic update for the basics of Home Windows Vista 32bits KB972036 it will not update, comes up with error code 80004005, Ive, disk cleanup is checked all attempted repeatedly to download because it tells me to try, restarted computer x 3 still will not download and told me there is an update that needs to be downloaded , what can I please.

  Follow the steps below. It could help us solve the problem of update on your computer.

  1 restart the computer in safe mode (to restart in mode safe keep pressing F8 on reboot).

  2. click on the start menu and in the search box start type CMD.

  3. in the list right click on CMD, and then click Run as administrator.

  4. at the command prompt, type net stop cryptsvc.

  5 rename C:\windows\System32\Catroot2 Catroot2.old.

  6 open the C:\windows folder, and then rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution as SoftwareDistribution.old.

  7. at the command prompt, type net start cryptsvc, and press enter

  8 restart the computer in normal mode

  9. run updates and check if you are able to get the updates without any error.

  I think it may be better if you download full
  files on your desktop and then install from there. And... BTW...
  There is no Vista SP3.

  Once you have the file on your desktop, it can be a useful
  try to unplug the net and turn off your anti-virus
  before installing.
