  Hi, I bought a Toshiba laptop a few months before Windows 7 came out, making sure he had a Windows 7 upgrade option.   A copy of the full license of Windows 7 would be transferable to a computer without an operating system until it has been completely removed from the first.

  The upgrade copy would not be transferable to a new computer unless the new computer already had a copy of installed Windows on what qualifies for an upgrade to Windows 7.
