  • Windows 8 Photos App, calendar, messaging, and SkyDrive will not open

Windows 8 App Photos opens and closes immediately if started from subway tile interface.

If I try to open any picture or video with the Photos App, I get the message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You will not have the appropriate
    permissions to access the item.
Other image programs work (Paint, Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer, etc..) and can display the pictures and videos.
While troubleshooting the problem, I have tried several things and noticed some other applications of Windows 8 also not open, including calendar, messaging and applications SkyDrive also do not open (they try to open and close immediately).
It's on a new installation of Windows 8, which replaced a Windows 7 installation, with nothing recorded, from a SSD drive.  Everything seemed to work so I started to install software and data, when I noticed the problem with the Photos App.  I installed Windows Media Center, Office 2010, Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 and some small programs and applications.
When it is started in safe mode, open the Photos App produces the following message is displayed:
    "This application cannot open.

This behavior has emerged in the last days and the problem is that Kaspersky has marked these apps as "not reliable."

    Solution:

    (1) open the 'Applications updates' section of Kaspersky Security Intrernet. A new window will open.

    (2) in the dropdown in the top left corner, select 'all '.

    (3) in the search box of the appearance of the upper right corner (the one with the magnifying glass) to Skydrive, calendar, Chat, or any other application does not.

    (4) 'files' (with extension *.html and a few others) will appear. These files will be marked with a red circle and the text 'Not reliable' (or something similar) or with a yellow circle and the text 'Minimum restricted' (or something similar)

    (5) select with the mouse each of these files (one by one) that appeared in your search and press the secondary button. A new menu will appear with the option "move group". Inside this option, you need to tell the program that you want to move each of these files to the Group of "reliable." A few seconds later, you will see how the red circle turns green.

    (6) run your mosaic application. It should work perfectly.

    Kind regards.

My problem is every time I double click pictures located in the folders on my laptop it should normally open the app photo 8 windows displaying the image, but rather the application opens with the picture of a very fast millisecond and farm then return to the start screen.

No idea why this is happening or solutions?

  • Windows 8 Photo app does not.

Photo 8 of windows app detects not all images on the image library or it sync with Skydrive or Facebook. This happened after that I uninstalled the application of frustration. Does anyone have a solution for this? I realized all of the tips offered by Microsoft and the app is always unusable. I used

the version upgrade of the W8 and hope you can resolve this issue quickly.

Uninstall Kapersky and use the built in Windows Defender. There is a work around to

    Thanks Barb.

Of all the tips above and in another thread (corrupted profile user, indexing, security and permissions - which I tried!), uninstall Kaspersky (on their website, you can not do it from the control panel) without a doubt for me. Because I don't feel comfortable with Windows Defender alone, I installed McAfee and continue without any problem with the Apps.

  • Windows 8.1 RT Photos App (repeat slide show)

    Hi all

As my original Surface RT does not much more, I decided to turn it into an observer of photo frames really expensive to play a slide show image indefinitely from my SkyDrive. My question is, where is the place to make the slideshow 'Repeat' in the 'Photos' of Microsoft application? It will be random photos during the presentation, but then when he showed at least once each photo, the slide show ends and I have to restart manually. How can I make the slideshow repeat forever?

    Thank you

  • Photos app says "Save as" instead of "Save a Copy".

Previously, I could 'Save a copy' when editing photos from my SD card. He would then store the picture on the SD card. Now, it only let's me "save under" and I have to name the file, so there is an extra step. The edited photo IS NOT store on the SD card, it only stores the picture in the photos on the computer application.

This change has occurred in a few hours. I used the app to edit pictures and when I came back from dinner to make more that she had changed.

    Hi Ali,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, t know that the problem persists.

Are you having the same problem on all the other apps?

  • Corruption of Windows 8 photo

It seems that Windows 8 is corrupt some of my jpeg files. Can anyone confirm if they have had the same type of corruption and that I have to buy the photo recovery software to restore files? I tried to rename the file and saving it to another drive. We lost a lot of pictures, some were still on our memory card and are not corrupt. Corrupted files were used as they have been uploaded to facebook. I really want to pay for the recovery software when windows 8 has caused the problem. I'm looking for confirmation of other reported problems and if there is no solution.

    Hello

    1. what happens when you access jpeg files, summers - get you any error message or error code?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

3 is the issue limited only when accessing jpeg files?

JPEG files are supported by the Windows 8 operating system, I suggest you open the photo in particular using photo applications and check if it helps.

Note: I recommend you to please make a backup of all files.

  • IPhone syncs with windows instead of itunes photo app

After you upgrade windows 8.1 for windows 10 my iPhone 6 syncs with Microsoft App Photos rather than with iTunes. How do I change back to synchronize with iTunes?

The connection to the Photos App from Microsoft is not a synchronization (using the terminology of Apple). It can be used to import photos from the iPhone to the computer - that iTunes sync doesn't do not. iTunes sync has a number of abilities, one of them being to synchronize photos from the computer to the iPhone - but not the other direction did the Photos app.

In other words, it shouldn't be a case of the Photos App instead of iTunes – you should be able to do it either. Have you tried to quit the app Photos and open iTunes on the computer to see if it will recognize the phone?

  • Why don't Windows (or the Photo app) read more a picture of the USB port?

Why do Rt Windows reads only one photo at a time a USB plugged into the USB port?  I had imagined that the Photo app would be able to see the drive and move from one photo to another, but it does not work.
I have tried using Windows Explorer to slect all the pictures, and then click right and select 'open' from the menu.  Only a single open photo.  He need to return several times to explore, click on the following picture, wait until it opens, etc..

On my desktop PC (a Dell running Windows 7), Windows Photo Viewer will open one and then pass that one to what is provided for in the same folder, by clicking on the button "Next" or "previous."  Works with both files on the disk hard and files on a USB key.  Seems pretty obvious to me.

    Am I missing something?

(PS: I'm sure that someone else asked this, but a couple of searches do not turn up quite the same question.)

Last updated on 15/07/13: I managed to solve this problem. All I had to do was to rename the folder in the case to be 'Photos' instead 'photos.' It's a trick that I had read some time ago and had not followed. Once I renamed the mounted folder (because it shows on the C drive), the photos are visible in the Photos app.   Curiously, the photos appear but not the name of the subfolder. Not really a major problem, but a little... weird, maybe.

    Hi Benzman,

    1. what other app are you talking about where the photos are working properly?
    2. were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?
    3. What is the format of these photos?

I tried on my side, and it works correctly.
a: I clicked on the Windows Logo + E to bring up Windows Explorer.
b: then I selected all the photos and then right-click on it and choose Open.
c: open photos, and then I click on the arrows to navigate to other photos.
