Windows 8 pro and windows desktop tile 7

I use Windows 8 Pro and whenever I click on a tile to program, it goes to the Windows 7 Desktop before opening.  After I close the program (e.g. Microsoft Excel), I have to manually return to the screen of windows 8.

Thanks Ronnie, I got the Start Menu to understand now, but why it the screen of Windows 7 has to come.  When I click on a program in Windows 8 why cant he opened in 8 and close windows in windows 8 instead of opening on win 7 OS?

Hi Mary

It is difficult to explain.

The Windows 8 Apps, such as the start screen and other applications, such as calendar, weather, maps and all the other apps that you install on the Store are programmed differently legacy Desktop Apps like MSOffice apps, Panel, a multimedia player, Manager of files, etc.

When you open an application of Windows 8, it opens in a space full screen with none of the standard components that you see in a legacy windowed application, such as the 3 buttons on the top right (Minimize, Maximize, Close), a title bar or the components normal windowed app.

A desktop application should open in a space with windows, which is represented by the office, so when you click to open a desktop application, you can see the desktop briefly it opens.

The desktop of Windows 8 currently runs as an application of Windows 8. It is what allows the interaction between the start screen and the desktop.

You can always use the Office to open these applications by pinning them to the taskbar, just as you did in Windows 7.

I mentioned that the splash screen is the replacement for the Start Menu. If applications Desktop opens in the screen start, it would be like their opening on the top the Windows 7 Start Menu.  :)

I just want to know if the serial number that I had had with the purchase of CS6 for mac would also work for windows 8?

    No, it won't.

Serial numbers for Creative Suites (CS6 and earlier versions) are the specific platform: Windows only or Mac only.

There is a process of sharing platform to pass from one to the other, but this is something all or nothing - if change you from Mac to Windows, you lose rights to your Mac license.

    Hello

I couldn't take it any longer using Windows 8.   I installed 7 Pro 64 on this machine, only to find HP doesn't provide drivers for 7 for this particular model.

I need to make a simple set of clicks in order for me identify the model of wireless card which needs the driver.

Since there is no driver installed wireless, need a labeled device network controller in Device Manager under the other devices category.  The network controller device will be somewhat ! brand next to him.

Thus, to find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the second element (Hardware ID).

Hello everyone.  My computer is adjustable having the dual boot with Windows 7 Pro on disk 0 (320 GB SATA Seagate Barracuda 7200.11) and XP Pro disk 1 (40 GB SATA Samsung SP0411C). As the two systems are available at the start but most all the time Windows 7 Pro would use. The computer is Compaq 7100, WCL PP255US, 3.2 GHZ Intel Pentium 4, 3 GB of ram, Council ch h 0968, bios HP 78 1 v01.05 16/06/2004, chip Intel 915 G Express.  According to the website of Seagate Barracuda 320 GB with (quote), ' he not there no master/slave because every player relationship is considered to be a master in a relationship from point to point.» If two drives are connected to a Serial ATA host adapter, the host operating system considers that the two devices as if they were the two "masters" on two ports separated. Both drives behave as if they were device 0 (master) devices.  On the drive Samsung (SP0411C) I put a jumper for master, it is connected to the motherboard instead of disk 1. Used rider illustrated for Samsung SP0411N since I did not see the SP0411C listed. When selecting information for Samsung Seagate site sometimes showed data for their readers. This is perhaps due to the recent acquisition of Samsung or maybe my mistake.  Tried swapping around wiring of each drive but that didn't work of course. Looked at the settings in the BIOS but did not see a way to create the dual boot.  Please let me know if you need more information. If you know how this can be done or have some suggestions, please let me hear it. As always, thank you very much for your comments.

    Oscar

Hello oscarmint, I checked the specifications of your system and it does not show the system supports two types of hard drives.

The system supports only Serial ATA (Sata) synchronous Maximum 150 MB/s transfer rate

You would need to make the jumper on the Seagate 320 GB Sata Drive pin, set at 150 MB/s.

You are right that the Seagate would not Cable Select or slave settings and it would be the master and only on cable.

If the 40 GB hard drive is a type of ATA (IDE), you'd better put as selection of cables (CS).

The image (it back up to an external drive as full image) and reinstall Windows XP, update, drivers and everything.  Install any plugins that you NEED to do all that you see here that the bat hurt.  If the problem no longer exists, something has gone wrong with your system from before (corrupt files or your cleaning is not as complete as you think) and if the problem persists - probably something to do with the material. In all cases, you can return to the image if you wish.

To the extent wherever it is the registry, I must ask, * how * you have come to this conclusion?  Not that I'm defending something - I was wondering what you did to decide who is not your registry database?  (Side: I agree with you.)

That's what * I * would call cleaning and optimization of a Windows XP machine:

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

This isn't 100% necessary - but I'd be willing to bet that you would gain some performance and features in making this part.

  • Is Windows 8 Pro and Microsoft Office 2010 license Transferrable to new PC (during the withdrawal of the old PC)

    Hello

I had bought Windows 8 Pro as part of the upgrade offer in 2012.

My current desktop PC gives signs of imminent failure. So I intend to mount my own PC and all ignoring the old one.

My question is if I can transfer the current licence to the new office.

What is the procedure for the transfer of the Windows 8 Pro and Microsoft Office license to new PC?

    Thank you and best regards,

    UNNI

Yes, you can transfer the two as long as they are copies of the retail sale and do not come pre-installed on the machine.

To waive the license of the machine, you can just format the machine or uninstall the license of Windows 8.

To proceed to reinstall Windows 8 on the new computer and restart phone.

    Please note:

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, contact technical support.

You can reinstall of Office 2010 and also reactivate by phone:

This could be really basic, but I can't seem to get by:

I just installed VMware 8 on a new Macbook Pro (OS El Capitan).

I then installed Windows 7, apparently successfully, all the way up to Windows installation was finished and I went to open the virtual machine for the first time.  The office opened very well, but when I went to maximize this mode full-screen, I essentially disappeared.  She is obviously still ongoing, as he urged on antivirus McFee, that I installed it successfully.

In the library, the virtual machine appears grey, with a basket and McFee icon.

I tried to uninstall the machine and install again, but the same thing happened...

    Any ideas?

In fact, here is a better description of what's going on...

You are in mode of "unity".

It is a "cache" mode the windows desktop and allows access to applications as they were Mac apps.

In your menu bar, there is an icon for the merge, and you can launch Windows apps from there.

Alternatively, you can simply use "Single window" or mode "full screen" for the traditional windows back office.

The button to switch is in the "View" menu
